You know why seat belt missions don't work is because they have them EVERY SINGLE DAY. Each district has to report thier numbers at the end of the month and if they don't have the certain amount of seat belt missions, they are frowned upon. So, we end up doing seat belt missions every day to keep up with the other districts even if it is unwarrented. This in turn becomes so manotanous for the sgt's and po's. It's every day. If these guys down at 35th had to do them every day, they also would just want to give the minimum tickets and just get it done with. Get back to being able to do some actual police work. But they'll never realize that b/c they never leave thier cushy offices at 35th and go out on the street once in a while. OR, how bout actually asking officers on the street what really works and doesn't? This would be too logical though, right.

Natoma. White jeep or truck all armed with handguns IL plates.....THIS IS NO BULLSHIT! Please keep an eye out. Possibly coming from the LeClaire Court area. These dirtbags are getting brave and coming into our homes and neighborhoods robbing people! All occurring on days. And I'd guess that SCC will post about the Blue line incident, but from the pictures I had a thought.
If something happens downtown where you need a triage area, a command post area, an emergency-personnel area, or any other response-type areas, it would seem to be a good idea for a supervisor to ask through the zone that ALL available tow trucks be sent to the scene immediately for relos to somewhere perhaps 4 blocks away or so.
Just a thought, but it seemed like there were parked cars in the way of everything at the scene. Not. Good.

Gangs traveling from Marquette Park/West Lawn. Approx. 2 weeks ago, we had someone firing a gun 3-4 times in Clearing. My neighbor across in the other building called police, and I ran outside with my cell. He told me has called many times before, reporting gunfire, and told me he has found bullet holes since he faces the alley. One patrol car pulled up and later an unmarked.
It's so thin over here, that civilians are fighting like hell to save our neighborhoods, but it's fruitless because it's dangerous for us let alone the few police that are out here. Besides the fact that nobody at 35/Michigan will help us each time we report the crap so we can get RID of it.

Ramsey has now removed the commaner of the area that includes Georgetown because, after the murder of the Brit, the commander asked a community meeting with hundreds of attendees to call the police when they see something suspicious.
Because he included the element of race (i.e., fat guy and a 15 year old at 2 AM, both of em black), Ramsey figured it best to reassign the guy at least temporarily. Though nobody at the meeting appears to have complained.
