BASE Jumping - Chicago Style
- Chicago police today were questioning an individual after two parachutists jumped from a skyscraper construction crane in the city's Streeterville neighborhood - the second such stunt in just over a week.
Security cameras captured the two people as they floated down in Cityfront Plaza just east of Tribune Tower, one block off Michigan Avenue, around 4:30 a.m. The cameras show the jumpers getting into a gray Porsche SUV and driving off.
You know what? Make them buy permits and sign waivers. The city could use the money. The Darwinism factor alone would be worth the price of admission. It's only a matter of time before one of these goofs jumps with a mispacked chute or gets hung up a street lamp or some other architectural gem and fails to beat the odds.

How many police are going to be wastted on these two assholes. Will the bosses, again, shit all over themselves over two rat asshole yuppies.
maybe they keep doing this, get comfortable, and get ZAPPED by elcetric wires, one can only hope.
rest assured that when they fail and hit a street lamp fence or just mispack the chute they or their survivors will sue becuase the construction company or city failed to adequetly prevent them from jumping
And when one of those two idiots screws up and ends up seriously hurt or dead, how long will it be before the families sue the city for some ridulous reason? Everyone seems to want a hand out...

Was at a drowning several weeks ago near Filtration Plant. 5 goofs steal a lifeguard's boat after breaking the chain. Take it out to the lake in the middle of the night, one panics, jumps off and tries to do a backstoke to shore. Didn't make it. One of his asshole friends complained that there was no security at the beach to stop him and his friends from stealing the boat.
Wait til some shyster picks up on that one.

C'mon now, we all know that 99% of the lawyers give the rest of them a bad name!
These jumpers are no different than 'Spiderman" and the rest of the [alleged] 'thrill seekers' that climb or jump from Chicago's skyscrapers. I've heard of at least a dozen during my career. The best part is that[if]/ when apprehended they're only charged with a city ordinance {I think it's Ch. 50, blah-blah} for "Performing an Aerial Act Without a Net." The worst that can happen to them is some hearing officer slaps them in the pocket book. Big Deal!
If I could get Ray Charles to pack my wife's chute, I'd encourage her to give it a shot. :)
