Griese Gets a Shot

Things that make you go "Hmmmm."

The Bears are looking to sweep the Division, we thought we heard for the second year running. Good for them. But why make the switch now, two games before the end of the year? Right before the playoffs? It's going to be an interesting week to see if Griese gets more snaps in practice and maybe a start against Green Bay next week.

ESPN also covers the controversy.

Even if Grossman were having a Pro Bowl type season, now is the time to see what Griese can do. God forbid Grossman gets hurt on the first series of the playoff game and Griese has to come in cold, having not taken any live action snaps in months. Use the early clinch to their advantage, and let Griese play AT LEAST the second half. Hell, we need to know that he CAN step in if Grossman struggles again.

griese should have been starting the whole time?????? You must not know anything about football.... The only reason Grossman didn't make it to the pro bowl was because he had 3 bad games that were consecutive. Grossman was the player of the month for Sept. and was also named player of the week last week..... but I guess that means nothing...The fans should start looking at him as a rookie Qb because after all before this season he only had limited snaps because of injury.... I know he was 1 hell of a QB at Florida. Go gators

Too bad they can't knock the Bears out of the playoffs. Now THAT would be sweet. But not to worry, some team will. Probably by whoever they play in the first round.

The only way the Packers can make the playoffs is if the following happens:

They beat the Bears next Sunday followed by a win by the Raiders, a loss by all the teams in the NFC, a win or tie by the Chicago Cougars, a loss by the Washington Senators, and a plane crash involving Bud Selig and Britney Spears, and James "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business" Brown rising from the dead.

Actually since New Orleans Saints defeated the New York Giants at the Meadowlands on Sunday, the Packers will still have hope for the NFC's final Wild Card playoff spot heading into the regular-season finale on Dec. 31 in Chicago.

It doesn't matter, the Bears will get molested and bounced during the first round of the playoffs anyhow.

NFC NORTH DIVISION
Chicago has clinched home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.

Green Bay can clinch playoff berth with:

1) GB win + NYG win + GB clinches strength of victory tiebreaker over NYG, OR
2) GB win + NYG loss or tie + STL loss or tie, OR
3) GB win + NYG loss or tie + CAR win, OR
4) GB win + NYG loss or tie + ATL win, OR
5) GB tie + NYG loss + STL loss + ATL loss or tie + CAR loss or tie

I'm sure you all know by now, the Bears - Packers game is the Sunday game of the week, so it will start at 1915.

If you are unlucky like myself and you have to work, Roll Call is at 2000 so we can all be around for "Dude" shooting off his gun(s).

Time to get creative...How can you take time on the front on New Years Eve, when all time has been denied since November???

It doesn't hurt fo Griese to take a couple of snaps. The Bears have nothing to lose. They may need him to take over the offense for real in the playoffs.Hopefully,Da'Bears will bat the Packers and sweep the NFC North.
