Reader Predictions for 2007
We'll provide our predictions on New Year's Eve. In the meantime, we offer you the chance to play Jeanne Dixon, Sybil Trelawney and Carnac the Magnificent all in one go. We'll try the same format as last year:
- Local, State, National and International politics;
- Sports prognostications;
- Department predictions;
- General guesses.
The Department ones ought to be interesting as we're due for a new Superintendent shortly. And the Local scene should provide some amusement as the Feds continue to indict pols statewide. Have at it.

2007 ....the end of SCC !!
1. Daley and most of the Aldercreatures will easily win reelection. The feds will continue to hammer City Hall, but Daley won't be indicted. Expect an increase in taxes after the election. Expansion of Casino Ganbling will be seriously considered with Chicago possibly getting at least one and maybe two casinos. It will be justified as financial aid to the schools.
2. The Government will continue to pick at Blagoveich and he will be indicted in 2008.
3. Nationally, we will begin to take steps to remove ourselves from Iraq.
4. Cline will be gone by June at the latest, and several big name exempts will be right behind him. He will stay long enough to pin a lieutenants star on his son.
Charles Williams will be the next Superintendent, with Daniel Dugan as the First Deputy. Homicides will continue to rise in 2007. After the election, expect some District boundaries to be redrawn.
5. Bears will get to the Super Bowl and loose to the San Diego Chargers.
6. Sox will get to the playoffs, but will be out in the first round.
7. Cubs will be much improved but won't make the playoffs. Expect great things from them in 2008.
8. Bulls will be defeated in the Eastern Conference finals.
9. Black Hawks will make the playoffs but be defeated in the first round.
This time next year we will see how many of these predictions came true.

2007 will bring Alqueda to our front door again, this time with a purpose. 9/11 was a spring-board and they have been chipping away at our liberal hearts ever since.
Here's a number to chew on: there are an estimated 400,000 Muslims in the greater Chicagoland area-this number is growing. It's the fastest growning religion in the world and in our prisons. Of those 400,000, only 1% subscribe to the radical/extremist side of this "peaceful" religion. That comes to 4,000 radicals out there waiting, plotting, planning, and preparing to attack us. 4,000 here in our own backyard. Even if you break it down to a tenth of a percent, the number is still a stagering 400 terrorsits in place and ready to inflict their rage on our population. That's just here in Chicago! The total number in the US is 4.5 MILLION!!! MILLION. Folks, this is not a conspiracy theory. These are facts.

The Area Two Gun Team (sorry....we got visions..can't help the visions)will break the record for most guns obtained in a search warrant in the City of Chicago in April only to find out the residence belongs to a close friend of a high ranking syndicate member. In May, all the loved ones of the Area Two Gun Team will be found making out Missing Reports for the entire Area Two Gun Team members. In June, a renowned plastic surgeon will offer his services free of charge to all the Area Two female detectives. All the Area Two female detectives will be the most beautiful women on earth in July. In August, all the Area Two female detectives will pose for Playboy magazine and receive a HEF-ty check!!! In September 90% of the "elite" units will be disbanded. Come October, a new and improved CPD Crime Fighting Computer will be unveiled. In November, the "new" computer will exhibit "bugs, viruses" never scene before infecting the entire global system. In December the sergeants test grades will be mailed.
Prediction for CPD:
This upcoming 2007 the ghetto will start displaying the Oakland, CA craze "Whistle tips" in the muffler of their vehicles.

Just so you know the raise does not show until the 16th of Jan. This check covers the last pay period of 2006. The last check of the year is usually a couple of bucks different due to a year end adjustment. Don't ask me to explain the adjustment because that I do not know. This has happened to me years past.

There is a way that you could tell if the new Sgt test results will be publihsed soon. Pick three "members of this department" who are in your unit that have the most clout. When you notice that they are happy and are singing " Bee Eee Bee and Bee Eee Bo" made famous by the three stooges, then you know that the list has been completed, not yet released. The "members" have been notified that their superior intellect hasn't abandoned them and they have predictably done well.
I predict that Daley will win re-election, but will be indicted shortly after the election. He has been warned not to run but because he has a personal war with Fitzgerald, he has to counterattack by running for re-election. Very stupid on Daley's part.
I predict that the new Sup. will be a female. Maybe not born one, but nevertheless considered a female as of today.

Since when will the city give you an increase in pay before you worked the days?
The new raise starts in 1 Jan 07, so you will not see it until 16 Jan 07.

I think FOP will finally fight for the things we need like a descent raise, lift the residency requirment so we can afford to live in a descent house in a descent neighborhood and not have to play police when we come home everyday, and have the me too clause added to our contract like the Fire Deparment has. They automatically get anything we get along with what they have agreed to in the end.
Did you guys know that health insurance went up on us including the fact that prescriptions doubled this past July. The city has that option. Also, we will not have health insurance after 2013. Am I the only person that sees that as an issue. I can go on my wife's insurance, but what if you do not have that option?

Yea, thats him!! Was inside his whole career, and was there (inside)during "Big Joes" regime. Its crap like this that blogs like this are started. Big Joe was screaming at working coppers on Friday & Saturday nites, but his clout-heavy insiders were left alone.
