- It's a phenomenon that gives the term 'gun control' a whole new meaning: community ordinances that encourage citizens to own guns.
- Last month, Greenleaf, Idaho, adopted Ordinance 208, calling for its citizens to own guns and keep them ready in their homes in case of emergency. It's not a response to high crime rates.
- Greenleaf is following in the footsteps of Kennesaw, Ga., which in 1982 passed a mandatory gun ownership law in response to a handgun ban passed in Morton Grove, Ill. Kennesaw's crime dropped sharply, while Morton Grove's did not.

No thanks, There are too many guns out there. Most gun owners are morons. Since the 1980's more and more guns on the streets mean more crime. Look at that county bimbo, leave a gun in the car and "bam" one dead 6 year old. How about full enforcement of the law verses crime. Full sentence, No parole, build prison camps, no tv, no phones, plain slop for food. Punishment should be the name of the Game.
Wow,having a gun for self protection causes the violent crime rate to go down??Say it isn't so chicken little.
Mr. Daley and all you suck hole Aldercreatures look at what Chicagos Draconian gun laws have done to the city.Its no mystery why the Homicide rate is so high.
The handgun ban since Mayor Jane Brynes administration and the defacto "assult weapon" ban have only put Chicagoans at risk and endangered lives.Greenleaf Idaho doesnt have this cities problems,I wonder why Mr. Daley.

Most gun owners are NOT morons. Most crimes are NOT committed by responsible gun owners. Most gun accidents are NOT perpetrated by responsible gun owners.
You've swallowed way too much Lib-tard koolaid if you think that among the 200 million guns that are out there that anything approaching even 1% have been used illegally. And of the guns used illegally, most of those were owned by degenerates, felons, psychos, ne'er-do-wells and fools anyway.
The statistics bear out the facts - Responsible and educated gun owners DO NOT cause more crime. Pull your head out of your ass fool.
More guns on the street equal more crime? So why hasn't the crime rate skyrocketted in placed with concealed carry? Like Texas? Florida? Any of these rung a bell? And crime is climbing in gun grabbing liberal towns like New York, LA, Chicago, New Orleans.
A gun in every home, sounds like the south and west sides of this blessed city. Most of those gun "owners" can't take care of themselves let alone their ten kids. I'm pro-gun, but you also have to consider your surroundinds.

Most states have a shall issue/may issue law when it comes to concealled cary,Illinois and Wisconsin are the only states that deny citizens their rights. I am not affraid of a citizen who is carying a gun lawfully,no matter who the citizen is,you want to ban something,how about banning criminals.Guns do not equal crime,minorities do not equal crime,criminals equal crime!
When Daley and his Alderminions passed all this gun control they didn't mean it to apply to them. Aldercreeps can not only own handguns legally, they can also pack them.
And Richie? He and his family has more guns surrounding them then the President. So "gun control" is relative in Chicago, "but you probably didn't expect it to be legit".
On the other hand is "guns in every home" an answer for Chicago? Minorities account for almost all violent crime in Cook County so how would legally arming them help anything?
