Another Democrat Bites the Dust
Man, those democratic presidential candidates just keep dropping like flies. How about that John Edwards?
- Democratic U.S. presidential candidate John Edwards on Sunday said that he would raise taxes, chiefly on the wealthy, to pay for expanded healthcare coverage under a plan costing $90 billion to $120 billion a year to be unveiled on Monday.
"We'll have to raise taxes. The only way you can pay for a healthcare plan that cost anywhere from $90 to $120 billion is there has to be a revenue source," Edwards said on NBC's Meet the Press news program.
No one, and we mean no one, has ever won a national election on a platform of raising taxes. Ever. And that was the tame misstep this week that didn't make headlines. Joe Biden made about the shortest presidential run in recorded history:
- Biden on Obama while announcing his candidacy - "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," he said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."
Wow. Way to be condescending. Seriously. You'd think this guy had former Kleagle and current democratic West Virginia Senator Byrd as his speechwriter. Amazing.
And then you've got Rep. Joe Baca (D-CA) allegedly calling Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) a "whore." And Nancy Pelosi demanding free military air travel for herself, her staff, relatives and other members from the California delegation (which is beyond what Dennis Hastert had when he was speaker). And Hillary's people have barely started their campaign of destruction on Obama - this is going to be a very interesting year.

Wouldn't it be great if the republicans could get their shit together, figure out which candidate had the best chance to win, and just have One candidate?

First of all, how do you know that the poster(s) were CPD officers? Could of been Joe Citizen. There are a lot of them that come on this site.

When Al Sharpton denounces his anti semitic rants that he stated in the 80's and his racist attempt to railroad White officers with I believe her name was Twana Bradley alleged rape that was later found out to be BS, then call Biden a racist. If Biden had any type of baggage like Jesse Jackson and his Hymietown remarks that the media kept under wraps for months during his presidential election attempt, he would not have even attempted to make a run. Maybe Obama should dis associate himself from using his friends Jackson and Sharpton as political advisors.
