That is Some Bust
Chicago Lawn District police tactical officers saw a U-Haul truck parked in a lot in the 4000 block at South Pulaski Avenue about 12:05 a.m., according to a police News Affairs release. The officers noticed an "open brick of cannabis" on the truck's floor and immediately arrested the 57-year-old driver, the release stated.
After further investigation, the officers discovered two large duffle bags of cash containing a total of about $100,000, 113 kilos of cocaine stored in Tupperware and hidden in two heaters and 3,000 pounds cannabis, the release stated.
Too bad it wasn't at a Seatbelt Safety Enforcement Zone. What a publicity coup that would have been! Nice pinch boys and girls.

Nice job by 008 Tact. Seems like these large siezures of narcotics occur regularly in 008, especially between Pulaski and Cicero, the Stevenson and 63rd. St. This area seems to be a major transfer point for large amounts of dope.

The mayor of southwest suburban Country Club Hills helped arrest two suspects Wednesday night in the random shooting of a 15-year-old boy as he was leaving a basketball game at Hillcrest High School.
Country Club Hills Mayor Dwight Welch, who is also a certified police officer, said he pulled up around 9:30 p.m. to the rear parking lot of the high school, 17401 Pulaski Rd., after hearing radio reports of someone firing several shots at crowds leaving the game between Hillcrest and Rich Central High School.
Oh come on. We all know they found the dope illegally, so they threw a brick up front in plain view. See this all the time. Sounds like the offender will get probation.

Why the hell do I have to keep reading about the f*king 019th district tact/gang teams? Why even have them? Do they even accomplish anything? These guys that post keep compaining about 019 like it's the south or west side - to us, 019 is heaven where guys go to settle down - or pull over the police because they have nothing to do. You are uninformed, the prices of homes in beverly have tripled in the last 10 years, mainly in the last 3 yrs. What we need is police that are willing to stay in the 10 sector and do some work on all 3 watches. the 3rd watch at least tries ie. 2211,2213. Gang bangers are not moving in, but what we do have is those same a$$holes driving through our neighborhood preying on us. Truth be told I really dont care if you work 4 minute days and never swipe or spend your whole tour in school. I never contacted the inspector general nor would I. Those who actually know me, could tell you I'm not a rat or a dog. Thanks for the inspiring words to help me recover from my reconstructive shoulder I needed from being the working police.
