Shots Fired - 025

  • Chicago police fired shots on the West Side Friday evening. According to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli, officers fired shots at West Division Street and North Harding Avenue about 5:45 p.m. Mirabelli did not have any information on whether anyone was shot.

The shots were fired in an alley, Mirabelli said.

An ambulance responded to the scene, but it was not needed because there were no transports, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Rich Rosado.

News Affairs Deputy Director Pat Camden was at the scene, Mirabelli said.

No transports? Camden on scene? Hmmm.

UPDATE: Sun Times confirms fatality.

Whats a Laser Radar, & How do I get one?

Good Shooting? That's an oxymoron if I ever heard one.
Make sure you're there in 8 years to support the PO when he's sued in Federal court. Better yet, why don't you take over his mortgage in case it turns to shit?

Unfortunately, it comes with the territory. 99.9% of us do not go to work saying to ourselves, " Mommy can I go out and kill tonight????" (Never thought a Misfits song would ever come in handy). Good shootings are always the one's you and your partner can walk away from, the same way you came to work.

We say these things to help out with a fellow officer's emotional well being. Some can handle it better then others. I understand where you're coming from, but there are better times and places for the reality checks. Glad the good guys are fine and another fine example of Darwinism no longer can be a danger to the public.

The copper's family has sued the police before and won so they should be familiar with the process. But now they might be paying out rather than collecting.

The word I'm receiving is, this shooting isn't all kosher. Stay tuned for further details.
LOTS of shots fired, and I hear
35th st. isn't exactly thrilled with the actions of those involved.
More will filter out later.

The shooting was good and followed all department regulations. What do you think you would do if a gangbanger was running from you then ran you over with his car and pinned you against a garage and a pole trying to kill you?

With all the shots being fired when there is a shooting I wonder what it would be like if every car had a heavy weapon or an automatic rifle.

The police officer who shot has a broken foot which is a good thing.. uh, even though its bad. At least they can prove the mut ran over him.

the way things are today if someone runs do what i do wave good-bye why risk getting hurt for an admisistration that could careless about you! Look at coppers on disabilty no raises, and now the command staff wants to dump all light duty coppers out of the department altogether real close knit group huh!!

Who gives a sh*t how many shots were fired? That is irrelevant. What's relevant is that the offender was placed into custody. As long as the bastard is still twitching you can fire all of your 46 duty rounds (+6 more from your backup snubby) if justified in using deadly force. Get a clue, the number of shots is only something that newsmedia assholes focus on.
