Beating a Dead Horse
- ABC7 news has learned that suspended Chicago police officer Anthony Abbate is about to face more criminal charges. Sources say Abbate will be named Friday in a 15 count indictment in connection with the beating of a female bartender caught on a tavern surveillance camera.
Officer Abbate was stripped of his police powers and was initially charged with aggravated battery. The additional charges, sources say, will include official misconduct, conspiracy, intimidation and improper communication with a witness.
