Isn't there something about not repeating the same behavior or is that only a city thing that reverends don't have to abide by?

Now, Jackson and Pfleger have gained a high-powered supporter of their efforts outside Chuck's Gun Shop in Riverdale: Chicago Police Superintendent Phil Cline says the demonstrations bring much-needed attention to the firearms debate.
There were no arrests in Thursday afternoon as marchers announced an expansion of their anti-gun shot crusade.
Great, now Phil feels the need to sound off on what is a completely LEGAL business enterprise outside of City limits.
And if in fact, the citizen up in 016 was "renting" out guns to gangsters, throw the book at him. But we've known too many stories about non existent C/I's and "J. Doe's" to completely believe anything coming out in the media or anywhere else for that matter. In fact, didn't the Department just revamp the entire Search Warrant/Consent to Search orders because a number of corroborating witnesses couldn't be located for a large number of Search Warrants? Isn't that why a supervisor has to meet, interview, and verify the existence of an informant?

I'm shocked that two men of the cloth and a Chicago cop would do such a thing. I usally get an e-mail from the Illinois State Rifle Association about such protests, but did not get one for this protest. Are the Rev's losing their punch when it comes to protesting Chuck's?

Somebody on here has to know the truth to these warrants. The one I have personal knowledge of was based on a "CI" the gun unit will not and can not produce. I read yesterday maybe on CBS that the Area 4 gun unit had traced some illegal guns or while tracing a gun they came up with this guy's info. But once again that is obviously bullshit and the only charge ends up being failure to register.That charge seems to be the common thread to all these trumped up warrants. Just a matter of time before an innocent citizen or a copper gets hurt on one of these bullshit warrants. What kind of department have we become when we go after gun collections instead of having the balls to get illegal guns from gangbangers and dope dealers? This job has gone down the toilet thanks to units like this and bosses like the Fat Man who let this shit go on. One look at the weapons recovered in these raids and all you see are somebodies gun collection. Well nice to know that my fellow CPD members are violating peoples rights and this will eventually lead to a big payoff to a citizen in a lawsuit. Just hard to understand how these guys look themselves in the mirror and actually consider themselve police officers. Somehow I expect that from some ATF idiot but not the CPD. One question for you Area 4 gun unit assholes, No guns in Area 4 you gotta come to Edison Park to get guns? I don't expect an answer to that question I'm sure you guys are out celebrating your good pinch, just do us all a favor and try not to get caught on video tape beating some yuppies. And if you do get caught try not to jam up the working coppers when they get called to the scene.

Doesn't this fall under failure to cooperate with a criminal investigation? CR#?
If they are compelled by a defense subpoena, ASA subpoena, IAD's request or OPS's request via a CR# they must produce the C.I.
I hope that they complied with the General Order and had their C.I. (Confidential Informant) registered with the Department in accordance with EXISTING ESTABLISHED procedures.
If they are unable to locate their C.I. (C.I.- meaning Concerned Individual) by no fault of their own they should be aware that the CPD has set precedent with this SCENARIO by firing a Sergeant a few years ago who was unable to locate a CONCERNED INDIVIDUAL who relayed an uncorroborated tip.

I am dying to see a reply to the above postings in relation to the CI issue. If the CAGE team and the Area Gun Teams are falsifying search warrants to bolster gun seizures upon innocent citizens this needs to be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
supervisors meeting interviewing and verifing C/I information??? first i heard of that.
I believe that utilization of the Federal Brady Bill Database has very strict limits placed upon it by federal law.
A sharp attorney needs to look into this and if the Illinois State Police and the ATF are illicitly leaking information on gun purchasers the FBI needs to investigate and charge accordingly. I think there could be grounds for some very good civil action too.
Lets hope that the proper authorities begin investigating these civil rights violations and misuse of public information.

Would some of you people please read the new search warrant order. You have John Doe warrants, CI warrants, and non registered CI warrants. Also are MCC warrants that the ACC has to approve. The department s giving you the tools, use them. Until you can register guns in the city, it is against the law. All this is smoke and mirrors for the media anyway. It is not for real. It is a number to show at the DOC meeting on Wednesday.

ASA also seems to not care about the truth or the law being followed. ASA drags their feet on motions to produce the CI. We all know the game in court. Keep continuing the case drag it out try to run the defendant out of money.Frank's motions are very expensive. Believe me the ASA knows the search warrants are obtained on false information but they want to win cases and if they can run the defendant out of money they get a poor innocent person to plea guilty to some bullshit and they count that as a head. Forget IAD or OPS going after these gun teams they have too much clout. Just look at the nonsense on how the department tried to cover the Jefferson Tap incident. Hopefully the Feds will put an end to this shit. Rest assured when the truth comes out it will cost the citizens money and just make it harder on the working copper. The worst part about this shit is actually knowing these guys are using false info to get their warrants and the Dept and the ASA just let it go on. I know there are many coppers out there who know this to be true and many have watched this unfair shit happen for years. Sure changes your perspective on being the Police anymore. Last year, some officers near Atlanta were getting high praise from their bosses for all of their executed search warrants.
That is until they conducted a B.S. warrant on the home of an elderly 91 year old woman. She was hard-of-hearing, and thought she was being home-invaded/robbed. She fired multiple times towards the front door, from her darkened hallway, killing one officer and injuring another. She was then killed in a barrage of police bullets.
The officer killed had a hero's funeral. The remaining officer's all received awards for valor, etc.
But soon after, it was learned that there was a pattern of abuses by these officers (A history of B.S. warrants, non-exsistant C/I's, and such)
Months later they were all indicted and sent to prison for manslaughter, official misconduct, etc.
Their bosses made a host of policy changes within the department. No bosses were held accountable either.
So just like in Atlanta, you too will be thrown under the bus,here in Chicago. HERO ONE DAY..VILLIAN THE NEXT!
Some may say I'm full of shit. However, I was here on the blog defending those officers actions during those few first weeks, as an unfortunate "by-product" of working in the ghetto, etc. But later after the dust settled, it was a result of sheer stupidity, and lawlessness, by a few rougue cops, intent on "bringing in the numbers."

Here is a summary: 16% raise over 5 years, 3% increased contribution per employee to the pension fund and 3% per employee into a retiree health savings account (net lose over 5 years of probably 3 to 5% per employee). Crain's Chicago Business recently had an article that stated the City wants 10 year contracts with the City's trade unions to show labor harmony in an attempt to lure the games. If your Sgt. Gets the warrant you have to do what you have to do. But if you get the warrant on an ex-P.O. or joe citizen with no rap sheet , shame on you. I think coppers use the term CI all the time without knowledge of what it really means. If used in a search warrant the CI must be registered? If there is a Franks Motion the CI must be produced. A Cooperating/Concerned Individual is just one who relays information that may or may not be of significance, the information must be corroborated before any action is taken regarding enforcement action.
