Mette Update

Someone is asking about Mette T-shirts being sold in 011 to help cover legal costs. Anyone have any info?

And the CNN interview that was supposed to air last week ended up canceled for the Utah mining disaster and the brewing Gulf hurricane news. Has anyone heard about a reschedule time?

Also, Thursday is the big fundraising event. Hop over to MikeMetteDefenseFund.com for details.

We need to move, push, strongly urge, or just plainly make them remove from the bench and disbar the Judge who convicted Mike Mette. We do not need any more liberal judges making rash decisions about what they feel justice is. Many times my size is used as a crutch for the defense to show that the BIG POLICE OFFICER was intimidating to the offender. This of course is BULLSHIT!! We need sound judgement from sound judges, if we can't get it then we need to take action against them all!!!

Leave that gun and badge at home if you must go out drinking. Once out of state its "zero" on alcohol in the system if you are packing. Read H.R. 218.

The moron that attacked Mike got no charges against him. Daddy's a big time businessman there in Poedunk, Iowa so junior walked. Now that's justice!

I believe that HR 218 prohibits intoxication. You may be in compliance with a BAC of more than zero

In the later "Politics as Usual?" thread above, it says that tickets for the Mette benefit will be available at the door Thursday night.

Don't worry, the Democrats once back in the White House will take care of these drunken coppers wandering around this country while armed. We could deport them to Mexico!

The judge should be kicked off the bench.

HOWEVER, if my 30 year old son got arrested after going to a college kid's beer party I would put my foot up his ass.

College Beer Party???? WTF??? Don't you realize none of these semen stained punks know how to drink! It's a fight waiting to happen.

MIKE DIDN'T GET WHAT HE DESERVED, BUT HE GOT WHAT HE ASKED FOR. THE JUDGE ISN'T LIBERAL, THE JUDGE WAS A CONSERVATIVE UPHOLDING THE LETTER OF THE LAW. POOR MIKE.

Don't like the crack about the "funny T-Shirt"?

You are really censoring this blog to bend it to YOUR own beliefs and not opening up THIS incident to the opinions of others.

As it has been said before, the judge it an incompetent moron.
HOWEVER, a full grown man who is a professional Chicago Police officer has no business with college kids sucking on a beer bong and puking up after tasting their first alcoholic drink.

I KNOW, it's YOUR blog I should get my own blog right? However, most of us with some time on the job realize what the environment is like. The left wing, anti-police liberals are just jumping at a chance to see us embarrass ourselves.

With every damn breath we take we have to remind ourselves to do the right thing ON and OFF duty. However, night after night I see the same young coppers go out and do stupid things. THIS "Mette incident" is just one of them.

The T-shirt crack was over the line.

Think of it as protecting you from yourself and protecting ourselves from a whole bunch of crap if we published it.

Mette was with his brother, celebrating his birthday. You ever have a brother? You ever go out with him? Whoop it up a little? He's your brother after all. Who better to go out with?

As you said, there's always your own blog if you don't like this one. But don't expect us to link to it.

Sounds like Mette received a harsh sentence for a minor infraction....

however.......

however............

We have all seen it...

The young copper going out with his young non-police buddies.

"Hey, it's cool. My brother is a cop".

Then the stories.

Impressing the civilians.

I have seen it. You, too.
I have felt it. You, also.

Thinking this chromed star makes me smarter and stronger than the next guy.

I tried hard to not talk about it, or use it. If I needed to be the POLICE, then I needed to.

Always acting as if someone was standing next to me with a video camera rolling.

The less people that know you're the PO-PO, the better.

The same tools that loved showing off when they got their star in the academy, are the ones who grocery shop with their button and pistol showing.

WHY?

Well, the only thing it does is make you more of a target.

If there is a crime that may be with an armed offender, the P.O. is probably going to be in the offenders sights. The P.O. is the barrier between freedom and jail.
Sometimes the best action taken is to be a good witness. If full action is needed, would you rather surprise the offender or have him fully aware of what you are?
Of course! You would want to have him think you are a school teacher shopping, and BLAM!!!!

Good guys win!!

You get the point.

And that goes for all P.O.s of the world.

If you don't step in shit, your shoe won't stink.

I feel bad that a fellow P.O. got a harsh punishment for what would be tossed out if it were two thugs in Chicago.

But, if the point of the extreme sentence was to send a message?
IT DID

Don't drink in Iowa and get into a fight.

If you see something brewing, turn around and walk away.

Call 911.
Something.

Ask MM himself. If he could do it over again, would he have turned and walked away.

What do you think.

This isn't ment to slam a young copper. It's my opinion on how we should act.

I, nor most of you know exactly what happened. But we have all seen the young P.O. and how they act.

Luckily, most grow out of that.

MM may have been the total oppsite. I don't know.

And yes I did give a few bucks.

MM dad is a great guy. Bet my salary MM's father said something to the tune of : "why the fuck didn't you just ignore the silly prick and go home"?

If it were my son, the favor would be returned.

Good luck!!!

God Bless !!

excuse me for pointing out the obvious

Mike didnt use a gun he used his fists in self defense when he was continually pursued by an intoxicated buffoon

just b/c you may be out of state doesnt mean you become someone else. If i am off duty and i see a 7 yo being dragged off her bike in portage park or portland oregon, you can bet i'll step up to the plate and knock that asshat on the ground. Moreso if it is my 7 y.o.

maybe you need to refer to the fact that colonoscopies (sp)are being cancelled. Fortunately for you, you can look around for cysts as your head is already up your ass
