Further confirmation that professional sports are a waste of time and money. I go to minor league preformances that are cheap,family oriented and the athletes play to their fullest capabilities.
Screw the NBA,NHL,NFL and MLB
Coppers will still be in line to get tickets to Bears games and giving these thugs their hard earned money.
The really sad part is that was the lead story on every station today, thus concealing the real news in Chicago.
Any parent that looks to these thugs for role models better be prepared to visit Statesville in the future.

1) fled the scene of an accident,
2) gotten busted for DUI from crashes.
I'm sure everyone has seen the training video of the officer now serving time for his DUI crash that resulted in a fatality.

arresting officer, usually from another municipality (or a State Trooper) was "wrong" to perform his or her duties. Let's not forget
"you drink, you drive, you lose" applies to everybody. Briggs was lucky not to have killed himself, or anyone else.
Screw this arrogant prick,he has no loyalty to Chicago or to the Bears establishment either. Too bad he didn't get injured just enough to fufill his dream of sitting out the season,would have been poetic justice for the primma donna.
Briggs had threatened to sit out the season rather than accept the one-year, $7.2 million contract that came with the tag, and at one point said he would never play for the Bears Again.
Briggs later altered his stance, threatening to sit out only 10 games so that he would still qualify for a full season under NFL rules.
They say the car might be totalled,I really hope so. Can you imagine he insurance agents face when he heard about this one?

Hey Jag-Off are you talkting about the same "outside municipality (or a State Troopers)" That I get calls to their house or other Miscelaneous calls to and when I get there they pull out their star and expect professional courtesy? Because 99.9 percent of the time I do. The only time I dont is when my hands are tied and I have no other option but to arrest them. LANCE BRIGGS INITIALLY REPORTED HIS LAMBORGHINI STOLEN.
WHY WASN'T HE CHARGED WITH FALSE POLICE REPORTS?
Briggs meant Monday morning but his slip of the tongue illustrated how rattled he was after the events of the previous 48 hours. Refusing to answer questions or elaborate on his whereabouts before the accident, Briggs for the first time admitted that, after fleeing the scene, he initially called police to report his Lamborghini sports car stolen. He later called police back with the truth.
"When it happened the first thing I did was I panicked," Briggs said. "I didn't want there to be a big thing there so when I left I called a tow truck. I also was startled and called and reported my car stolen. Within 10 minutes, I called and took responsibility for what I did because it was ridiculous in the first place."

Correct me if I am wrong but a false report of a motor vehicle theft is a Felony. A false report is also any transmission of the false complaint including calling 911 even though a paper report was not generated where the facts are determined to be false. He is freely stating that he called the police to report his car stolen. Why hasn't he been charged with the felony?

There has been nothing in the print or video media to connect Lance Briggs to being a gangbanger, or thug, or consorting with persons of that ilk. The guy may be greedy, and a little immature at his age, but don't label him as being a thug. Its not true. Don't hate on him because he's an overpaid athlete who only wants to be even more overpaid. When the Bears play, you've got your TV tuned to the game, like everyone else. When the Bears hold their (for pay) fan appreciation seminar every spring, you'll be there fishing for autographs with your kid like everyone else who can afford the prices to get in to fawn all over the guys. Hopefully, the crash woke his young, brash ass up a bit, and he's realized that all he has accomplished can be gone in a second due to his own foolishness.

Thanks for the textbook demonstration of "hater logic" at work. What gang does Briggs belong to? Why would you or I or any officer for that matter be paid 7.2 million (Brigg's salary this season) to patrol the streets of Chicago? Sure it would be nice but is it going to happen? Should it really? Do we do it for the money? Briggs is paid what the market will bear in his chosen field. Good for him. If you're a better run-stopper then throw on some pads otherwise be quiet.

Tell me something Man of The People, If you were one of the top five in your profession would you not expect to be compensated as such? Briggs is as good as it gets at his position--this is acknowledged by coaches and peers--yet the Bears have him on the cheap.
