Unreviewed Comments

Blogger finally fixed a glitch that had been annoying us since February.

We had almost 300 comments lost in the vast internet wasteland. The comment counter showed we had comments ready for moderating, but the comments themselves couldn't be located. They were in limbo.

This morning, all the missing comments reappeared in our in box. Guess what we spent an hour and a half doing? We only had to delete about 20 of them and published everything else. So if you feel like going back and finding out if your comment that you wrote in anytime in February or March ever made it to the blog, you're welcome to go through the archives and find it.

Open post in the meantime.

The "in limbo" place that comments were lost happens to be the same place where our promotional test scores go to before we ever see them.

Do you really think that IAD would violate the Federal Wiretap Act or the Federal Stored Communications Act? I would love to see that happen, federal prosecution and federal prison time and a massive federal civil rights lawsuit.

TITLE 18 PART I CHAPTER 119 Interception and disclosure of wire, oral, or electronic communications prohibited.

The Wiretap Act and the Stored Communications Act.3 Both the Wiretap Act and the Stored Communications Act give individuals the right to sue. The Wiretap Act gives a right to sue to any person whose electronic communication is intentionally intercepted, disclosed or used, unless the interception is one of the kinds permitted by the Act.4 The Stored Communications Act gives a right to sue to any person "aggrieved" by a knowing or intentional obtaining of access, either without or in excess of authorization, to information electronically stored by a facility through which an electronic communication service is provided.5 An "electronic communication" under both statutes is defined, with some exceptions, as any electronic transfer of information that affects interstate commerce.6 Damages under both acts includes the actual damages suffered by the plaintiff and any profits made by the defendant. A successful plaintiff can receive counsel fees. Successful plaintiffs under the Wiretap Act receive a minimum of $10,000 in damages, while the minimum under the Stored Communications Act is $1,000.7

There are individuals capable of hacking and trapping wire intercepts on the CPD. Would they actually risk Federal prosecution for intel gathering?

SCC,
It is difficult to do but if you suspect a pattern of tampering or intercepting, there are private contractors that specialize in tracking and locating the source of origin. If you know what I mean,it could bring you great power.

It was a "Blogger" problem, not any attempt to sabotage or track anything. We were in contact with blogger throughout the process and when "Blogger" switched to the new platform, there were numerous glitches that had to be addressed. This was just a larger than normal problem as we are a larger than average blog.
