- Joseph Annunzio used the n-word and other racist and sexist slurs, but won't lose his supervisor's job with the city Department of Transportation, a review panel decided.
- The board did find Annunzio made "racist, derogatory and disparaging remarks," but didn't fire him because the most "egregious" allegations weren't backed up by testimony from the target of the barbs.
- City Inspector General David Hoffman said the board's decision signals the city can't fire someone for racist and sexist remarks and conduct, even when multiple witnesses confirm them under oath.
Evidently, the Board decided you have the freedom to be a complete ass at work, but only if you're related to an old time Machine politician. We don't see this becoming a trend citywide.

annunzio is a scum bag. too bad the main complainant on that case was Beavers girlfriend Patty Young who was all over the new a few months back when this case came out. Goos job to the IGO, sorry it didn't stick. Know someone who was interviewed by the investigator on the case - good call, the IGO had a pretty white Catholic woman do all the interviews. People like to talk to pretty women. Next time, get him on something more substantial. Try his friend's Joe Russo and Vic Morenos involvement in contracts.

AND----The female investigator who independently handles this whole case is an out of towner with no clout, but a nice rack, and killer eyes, and funny. I enjoyed being interviewed by her. I guess so did Annunzio, he even requested this female investigator interview him.

This guy may have juice and be a jerk, but if no one steps up to say that they heard the comments AND as their intended target they were also offended by them, where is the case against him? I say the IG's office did the right thing. It's the same with a CR. No complainant, no affidavit-- UNFOUNDED.
Not that i would stick up for some polital hack, but the person who filed the complaint was the Ex-alderman Beavers daughter, who has made the same type of of complaints in the past all against the m-2's!

Joe Annunzio whose dad is Chief of Staff for Alderman Tom Allen is all Clout and Mirabelli has ties w/ the Annunzio clan. Annunzio was arrested once for beating his wife - imagine if any police officers had Annunzio's credentials - racist, sexist, wife beater.
Additionally, Maribelli, (the Mayor's good friend) was president of the Justian Society with The Late Frank Annunzio (Congressman) by his side. conflict of interest?
