Honor Roll Student Killed
- A University of Chicago graduate student from Senegal walking to his off-campus apartment was shot and killed overnight in what officials said was one of several violent incidents in the area.
Police increased campus patrols after Amadou Cisse, 28, was fatally shot in the chest around 1:30 a.m. on the street outside his home in the 6100 block of South Ellis Avenue, school officials said.
U. of C. President Robert Zimmer said in a statement that there were two other incidents on or near campus early this morning in addition to the fatal shooting.
This guy came from Senegal to attend high school in Oklahoma, then gets to go to the University of Chicago - one of the top universities in the world; home to more Nobel prize winners than just about anywhere. You don't get many idiots who end up at the U of C. Yes, it's in Hyde Park, home to come of the most annoying Chicagoans ever, but people who graduate from the U of C end up changing the world. This guy had just defended his doctoral dissertation on atomic oxygen erosion which is way beyond anything we have even a passing interest in.
And somewhere in a space of a few hours that included a staff member chased and shot at by someone and two women being stuck up nearby, this guy who made it all the way to a doctorate from the University of Chicago and ends up dead in our fair city.
And we're sure we'll get the various trolls in the comments that think we're making light of this man's death - we're not. We are merely observers of the violence and chaos that runs through large swaths of this city and just shake our heads when it butts up and extinguishes a promising life.
And somewhere in a space of a few hours that included a staff member chased and shot at by someone and two women being stuck up nearby, this guy who made it all the way to a doctorate from the University of Chicago and ends up dead in our fair city.

Sadly, the untimely death of this true honor student will most likely receive no attention from the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, as he wasn't killed by a Chicago Police Officer while armed with a deadly weapon.
God forbid they protest the violent animals that prey on people of substance and promise. I sit here and think of all the hard work and effort this man put into his education, only to have it made meaningless by the act of a savage human being. What a sad waste of a promising life.
It's victims like Dr. Cisse who drive me to do my best as a police officer. So, when you get down about all the crap that is heaped upon us by an ungrateful press and society, think of this man and all that he would have accomplished in life had he lived. By putting offenders away for lesser crimes, you prevent them from being able to commit atrocities such as this.
Gee and this happened at that asshole (un-law-ful) professor futtermans school. i'm sure that bald liberal dumb-fuck will defend the killer and somehow blame his actions on the out of control cpd .

This was a real honor student not some momma's bullshit dead gang banging thug kid! I was there on scene, very unfortunate incident. It took one small bullet hole to kill this great man and some punk thug gets shot 5 times and lives. Life is truly unfair.
I was truly saddend by this story. One because it was a terrible waste of a life and two because this city is overrun with vicious animals.
It is surely a tragedy when an obviously intelligent young man gets gunned down, or for that matter any person, on the streets of Chicago. We need to hold accountable the State's Attorneys and Judges who treat gun possession on the publicway as a minor crime. I am sure the anti-gun forces will be again pushing for taking all the guns away from everyone but all that really needs to be done is enforce the laws we have already.

At one time, I worked as a PO in ajoining district.
Now, a U of C Student has been killed, that's a shame! These students don't have a clue how dangerous Hyde Park really is.
Hyde Park is very dangerous. When the U of C students give orientation to new incoming students, theyre quick to mention how safe it is on and off campus.
In addition, they mention how great (HA!) theyre rinkydink U of C Police Department is.
If my memory serves me the U of C is made up of 1/2 off duty chicago police, 1/2 hired police.
And what a joke that police force is! Of course with the exception of a few off duty policemen, and a couple of U of C hired police.
The current men who are in charge? Nothing's changed over the years, these two guys who run the U of C Police dept are idiots!
They have their Policemen answering regular Chicago Police calls and when they get to the scene, there's little or no communication between the two, and the U of C Police usually taint the scene. The 021 Polcemen & 003rd District can't stand this joke of a Police Department.
Now you're thinking but they have Chicago Police working for them. With the exception of a couple of these Off-Duty working partime Chicago Policemen, all the others clout baby Chicago Policemen who work in some specialized unit come to work for U of C and don't know what the fuck theyre doing. It's really a shame.
There's even a few idiot Detectives who actually work part-time for U of C who I wouldnt trust them trying to locate an electrical outlet in a well lit room.
But here's the kicker...
They've gone so far as doing drug buys, and pinches off campus (AND WHY?) They spend more time away from the campus being a nucance to CPD's jobs, then they do/did actually patroling and keeping those students safe.
What's worse is and I'm sure it hasn't changed, that they do not even process their own arrests. Even though they have powers of arrests, they do not complete arrests reports. They should! But Don't! If they had to, I'm sure they wouldnt be pushing all their bullshit arrests on CPD as they've always done, and actually learn how to be the police.
If you work part time and make an arrest, be prepared to blow a day to go to court. With the way things are going on in this department why would any CPD officer complete and put his name on an arrest report for some shaddy bullshit arrest of some U of C officer tyring to make a name for himself?
The U of C Police is poorly run. So cant totally blame the officers, but the bosses? Time for a change!
This couldve been a lot worse. The U of C couldve had a terrorist situation but wouldnt matter, cause half their police force is spent off campus impeding CPD calls/investigations.
I'll bet nothing's changed after all these years with the U of C police department.
Sadlly, this kid is not alone - two weeks ago Steve Lyons was murdered when GDs or Vice Lords shot up his grandmother's house at 76th & Aberdeen.
Steve worked full time at UPS and was going to school as well. He was the Thompson Gold Medal Winner for Leo Class of 2004.
Steve's murder received ZERO outrage and coverage by the Media.
If there were a chance for some bottom feeder like Loevy or Taylor to punch the ticket of the tax-payers the STNG would have been all over it.
Random thoughts: What a shame. Seemed like a dedicated scholar (first time I typed this and actually meant it!) And where are the revvs? Or do they not march for the 'proven' honor student, only the gangbanger? Is this our fault yet?
Another horrible example of a true victim being gunned down by a ghetto hood rat. It sucks to see an honest hard working college student killed like this. It is really sad to see that the "reverends" and writers like "mope-rah" don't have anything to say about this. They will practially ignite a riot when a parolee, criminal, loser, piece of shit is allegedly "wronged" by the police, however, an educated black man who is an asset to society is gunned down and there is nothing but silence from these people. Not a peep out of Jesse or Rev. Al, regarding this loss of a promising, young, black male, who would have certainly left a positive mark on society!
But yet in NYC today, the Rev. Al was speaking at the funeral of that goof who was shot by the police after claiming he had a gun (which turned out to be a hairbrush). Al was in typical form saying essentially that black men are becoming extinct due to racist police or something to that affect.

I find it funny how quickly all three of these crimes were reported to have been committed by the same Offender(s). SAYS WHO!? I guess it would be somewhat more calming to the liberal staff and student body, as opposed to all three crimes being done by unrelated and individual thug MF'ers. Don't act like murders, rapes, etc. only happen on South Side campuses! Students have been murdered, raped, etc. at UIC, even up in (YIKES!) Evanston's NW campus. Actually, far fewer violent crimes occur here in the Hyde Park/Woodlawn area than in other areas. Remember, an off duty cop was attacked and beaten by bangers coming out of a bar right in the heart of DePaul's Fullerton ave. Campus last year.
Students have been raped and murdered in Little Italy. Obviously, it's not a common occurrence at any of the Chicago campuses, but if your guard is down, you're not safe ANYPLACE. Personally, if I had the bucks, I'd rather see my kid walk away with a U of C degree than from any other college or University in this city.
