I read that Congressman Danny Davis is nto pursuing his complaint of being cited for driving while black
I guess he is afraid to sign the affidavit. Maybe he is lying about the whole thing??

Here's a positive story you need to post. There was a shooting last night in Area One and a chase of the offenders ensued. For once the Bosses allowed the chase to continue and even an ADS was in on the festivities. Numerous Districts and Units were involved and the bad guys were taken into custody.
At the conclusion of the chase it was a sea of Blue, What a sight to behold. Brings back fond memories of when we were allowed to be the "Real Police". Hanging in the air was the stench of burning brake pads and engines. A scene taken right out of the Blue Brothers.
The best part of the whole event was to see all the Officers smiling and joking. Every one on that scene was once again, if even for a brief moment, Proud to be the Police. Just remember boys and girls, it is a honorable profession, even if the media insists on beating us with the ugly stick.

SCC, I work in OCD. And may I say that after posting the rumor thread on the secret grand jury in Milwaukee, many of the coppers I work with are visibly shaken and tight lipped about it. So even if it isn't true, you may have introvertingly changed the bad habits of a few cops. I hope it isn't true about the indictments but maybe sending a few on the straight and narrow is best for the whole department. So I say kudos on indirectly helping. I never thought an addition on my home or a fancy car is ever worth doing something to hurt your whole family for. Why so many of these cops go so far in debt to keep up with the Jones is beyond me. I never would want to put myself in the position of being tempted just to make monthly payments on something. But it does seem to be the clout babies who are the worse.
Interesting tidbit: Went to a "Community Meeting" at an MB church on the West Side. Guest speaker was Rep. Danny Davis and he looked at the crowd (myself and my partner being the only palefaces in said crowd) and proudly trumpeted that if he needs a carpenter he only hires a BLACK carpenter, that if he needs an electrician, he only hires a BLACK electrician and when he needs to buy groceries at a store he only shops at a BLACK grocery.
I can only imagine if I were to say that I only hired whites or only shopped at white stores. I'd be dragged before a U.S. magistrate so fast that my head would spin.
On another post a reader stated that he lived in Lincoln Park but his representative in the criminally gerrymandered district was no other than the afro-centric Davis. I hope he knows he won't be seeing too much of Rep. Davis since he will probably be out looking for a carpenter, electrician or grocery at 15th and Kedzie.
It must be nice to go through life and know you can NEVER be considered a racist or bigot, just because you're BLACK.

great job on the chase in A1 last night, 18 minutes from start to finish, no coppers hurt and shooting offender in custody. GREAT JOB! Oh and about Danny Davis saying he only shops black, thats ok I have a business and i promise none of his kind will ever be hired. Whats fair is fair.!
Read the articel in the Daily Southtown today from Davis.
In it he states that he knows he did not cross the center line because he is not senile.
He then goes on to state that if did cross the center line he would have said he was avoiding a pot hole or animal.
So what he is saying is, if he knew he went left of center he woould have LIED to the POs and told them he was swerving to avoid a mysteries object that was not there. HE WOULD HAVE LIED!. JUST LIKE HE IS LYING ABOUT THE RACIAL PROFILING!!!!
I do not know who the POs would issued the ticket but would someone inform them of the article and make sure they bring it to traffice court and enter it as evidence to the Judge
The families of the victims of the car wreck at 2900 N Damen have hired a lawyer to sue the cop who was driving drunk. The cop is wrong for having driven drunk, and he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent. However, civil suits and the families claims that they are "getting the runaround" are a little bit premature, don't you think? If they even try to come after the city, I'm going to vomit.

West mother hired a black plastic surgeon
What is going on with the PO from 019. He was charged with DUI and striking a car that killed two citizens. The story is confusing because initially it was reported that he was driving left of center like Danny Davisw but the pictures of the accident show the citizens car was broadsided.
Now the story is that the PO was traveling N/B on Damen and the citizens car was turning N/B onto Damen from Oakdale. I was led to believe that Damen, being a thru street and Oakdale having a stop sign, gave the driver going N/B on Damen(the PO) the right of way so how could he have caused the accident. When you turn onto a street from a side street with a stop you are only allowed to proceed with caution and when it is safe. I am not arguing about the DUI because I do not know what the PO blew but it appears the other car pulled in front of him. Also at this time of the morning and the others involved were on their way to a lounge how much drinking was involved by all concerned

Also, I wonder, if the city and state help fund the CTA, then why are CTA employees not required to live in the city? There not really city employees but the city figures them in the budget.
I think it's bullshit that a revenue generating department like the CTA even gets so much funding. If only I can own a private transportation company and get the city and state to help fund my operations. Just a few thoughts...
Another positive story from last night-
A TRU car conducted a traffic stop on a car in 002 last nite bad guy bolts from the car and a recruit doing a ride-along takes off after him, catches him and pistol is recovered..good job by everyone involved and good backup by 002 tact..I know some of you will turn this into a negative and start slamming TRU and the recruits, but it's good to know that there are still some coming out of the academy who still want to be the police....

To all black people reading this: Predominantly black neighborhoods will continue to have astronomically higher crime rates than predominantly white neighborhoods if black citizens and black elected officials continue to play the race card. Black neighborhoods are already less desirable to live in than white neighborhoods. It's not just the 11th, 15th, 7th Districts either. The western end of 008 is livable, but quickly turning bad. Many black coppers live in 003 and 006 where crime is not nearly as bad as Austin, Englewood, or Harrison. But those neighbors have far more crime than 023, 022, 016. It is a fact that black districts have much more crime than white districts. No one can argue that point. So do something about it. Vote Davis out. Denounce his position on police officers. Then support the police not young drug dealing gang bangers who claim the police harrass them for no reason. When the black community loudly defends convicted felons after every police shooting, or every arrest of a black offender by a white officer it re-enforces the mindset of young black kids that the police are the enemy. The police are evil and our behavior should not be punished. Stand up instead and say, "See what happens when you point a gun at the police children? Don't do that". Has this victimhood and entitlement mentality done anything for the black community? Seriuosly. It made Jesse Jackson rich, and gets people like Danny Davis reelected, but has it changed the lives of black people? Yes, I'm white. Don't scream that I'm a racist pig because I did not say one racist thing here.

Funny thing about that chase in Area 1 last night, where was our precious helicopter when you need it.
The chase started in 009 where the helicopter was monitoring traffic stops and getting BS event numbers earlier in the night. When the chase started the helicopter was requested, but no where to be found. The request also came over citywide with no response. The question is how the hell do you get hold of the helicopter when you need it? The dispatchers have to ask on every zone if the chopper is monitoring the zone and then request them.
Not to worry the clout copter came back on the air to request more event numbers after the chase was over. Thanks for nothing.

I was driving behind a vehicle today and had this same thought. The license plate holder said "BLACK EXPO" and there was a "BLACK POWER" bumper sticker on the rear bumper. WTF? If I had a "WHITE EXPO" or "WHITE POWER" sticker on my car, I'd be racist; probably lose my job over it. What gives with this ridiculous double standard?
I work in ocd also, and I don't know who you work with who appear to be "visibly shaken". Perhaps they have guilt about other things they may have done, but it isn't because of this alleged federal investigation, because there isn't one at cpd. (thats a clue)
I'm telling you that some of us know who is creating that rumor. It's a spoiled brat who didn't get his way. We just hope that someday SCC will apologize to everyone in Vice for repeatedly spreading these "great rumors".

I am out of town for the holidays but left after the fiasco with US Rep Davis. Just to let you know that the story has hit national status. I saw and read the article in the Greensboro, NC paper on Saturday in the Washington section. It was small but makes him smell clean. Too bad we get the bad rap nationwide. Perhaps a paper campaign to the US House of Reps after reading about his churchly statement here to get the word out about his attitude. If you truely want an equal playing field in the race game. Perhaps you should lead by example. I know I will be writing some letters.

Or you can stop whining and get involved. How many General Meetings have you been to in 2007? How well do you know the contract? How many grievances have you helped PO's file? In short, what ave you done that justify's spouting more locker room bullshit like "hey, the FOP is useless."
In my district I hear that crap constantly. Trouble is, none of the complainers have ever read the contract, none have been to a General Meeting this year, much less an FOP board meeting, None get involved other than to spout the same "FOP is useless" bullshit.
Some years ago a group forced a vote to decertify the union and force a new election to select our representative. We overwhelmingly chose FOP, again, over Teamsters, IPA, Combined Counties, PBA etc.
You might still be able to go over to the FOP office and demand to be a "fair share" only employee. that is, your dues will only be deducted for that portion of service you actually receive, contract negotiations etc.
Your dues will go down. But then if you have a problem, get your own lawyer because the FOP will no longer send one out. And if management fucks you over, handle it yourself because you elected to save a few bucks each month.
Why don't you try going to a year's worth of FOP meetings, (I go to every one, no one from my district has gone to more than one this year)
Get involved, learn what the problems really are and what tools the FOP has at it's disposal and how and when they are used and read the contract, I mean really read it. And learn labor law as it effects we CPD officers, expecially the part of it being illegal to strike or take any type of job action that would disrupt operations. Then learn how the asshole City of Chicago deals with the FOP and you might learn how goddam hard it is to deal with a City that pretty much is impossible to deal with.
Oh, and do remember to check on how many ULP unfair labor practices) the FOP files on your behalf and how many lawsuits against the City now are pending.
If you get involved and learn all this stuff you will change your tune and instead start calling for Richard M. Daley's head on a pole at Madison and State.
You should have asked Danny David that when he needs the police does he only need the black police.

Numerous posts claim JA was a great cop, maybe he was. He was also an asshole driver, maybe he was driving too fast. I had a run in with JA as he attempted to pass my vehicle on the wrong side of the road when I was already driving 40 mph on my way to work. He pulls up next to me at a light and flashes his badge. That badge will not save him in his situation it was a tragedy waiting to happen. Please slow down people.

Read the summary suspension form a little closer. It lengthens the period of the summary suspension if you refuse in a type "A" injury accident. Implied consent only comes into play if the person is unconcious or dead.

Their are quite a few attornies that are pretty good. The FOP attornies are great because they know the ins and outs of our job. Give her the house so you can keep your pension. Don't pay any bills off yet, make that a part of the settlement, you pay the bills then. Also, sue for custody of the kids. You will be surprised how easy it is for a man to get custody these days. The judges are just happy you even want the kids. Start talking about the crazy things she does to you especially around the kids via email. You can use this as leverage when you go to court. Start putting cash on the side now, you will need it.
Pre paid legal is also a good start if you do not like the FOP attornies. They have to charge you a fixed rate. You can save thousands.
Stop making any overtime what so ever. Take time only! Stop working any part time jobs. Don't let your credit go, but make enough just to make ends meet for about a year. Do more with the kids so you will look more favorable. Tell her you see she is stressed and needs a break.
I will be out of law school in June. Look me up if you haven't found a good attorney yet.

Funny thing about that chase in Area 1 last night, where was our precious helicopter when you need it.
The chase started in 009 where the helicopter was monitoring traffic stops and getting BS event numbers earlier in the night. When the chase started the helicopter was requested, but no where to be found. The request also came over citywide with no response. The question is how the hell do you get hold of the helicopter when you need it? The dispatchers have to ask on every zone if the chopper is monitoring the zone and then request them.
Not to worry the clout copter came back on the air to request more event numbers after the chase was over. Thanks for nothing.

Yes, they were in 009 about an hour before the shooting, flying over gang dist's and units' traffic stops because it was slow, and there was nothing else going on for them to "assist" on. Around 2100 they told the dispatcher they'd be leaving to go re-fuel at Midway. If you were listening, you would have heard that. The shooting took place around 2115, and the chase started at 2135, lasting nearly 30 minutes. Yes, it would have been helpful to have PH2 assist on that, but if they were down refuleing, then what are ya gonna do!?
By the way, the chase went extremely well, the dispatchers did a good job, starting on zone 13, and relating all pertinent info to zone6, zone8, zone7, and ending on zone5. All relative info was put on one event, making it easier to follow the progress of the traffic purusit. Great job, bad guy in custody and NO ONE got hurt in the process!!!!

Sgt LC made a left turn in front of a guy driving his wife to work. He had nowhere to go and ended up T-boning her. Sgt's fault.
I didn't hear about her foul mouthing people, but her BAC was pretty high 3 hours after the accident, when she blew under the Administrative Phase.
Now we know what is wrong with RM in Starks' office, her and SM (JT'S lady) were tight. Discussing the meds they were on most likely. RM's medication has to be altered, whatever she is on is not working esp. after Starks' dumped her.
With Roman a Commander, maybe he will put his do nothing wife in for merit Sgt to expand their cash flow.
I work in 003. I don't know your assignment here (beat or tact or watch) but I like it here. Never had a commander who rode up on my calls for assist before. From what I hear, Franklin has always been the Police. Sounds like you didn't get something you wanted from the man. His secretary's not bad, but she's not going to let people walk over her. Get over it. A lot of us like the new boss. Sounds like you need a par form. Do yourself a favor, and go someplace else. Lots of openings at all 25 districts, go be happy.
But wherever you go, be sure to grow up first.

Commander John (Johnnie Boy) Franklin, get off of our blog!!! I know for a fact that 99 percent of everyone in 3 thinks you are a shit head and your secretary is a nut, fruit basket, or lets just call her just plain old crazy.
Think about it, the more shit your poor on our Supervisors, the more shit they poor on us, and so on and so on. I have to agree with the other blogger and I am just speaking the truth. This is already a sad environment, but since I live close to the district, and I do don't want to work where I live, I am stuck in this shit hole looking at you. I do it for my family. Tell me this, can you wake up in the morning and look yourself in the mirror and actually say you are a good Commander, you do any good for the troops, or do any good for the citizens?

His kid is on the detail no time on job but again another "clout" placement! Did you read the order on how the "security specialist" job is taking applications? Yea sure! The copper that got fucked on the detail chose to leave to get merit sgt., which he didn't deserve and thank god didn't get. If he is crying to the feds they should look into his background. Congratulations Commander Roman. Thanks for looking out for us each step of the way. We are planning something very nice for you. I'm glad the department has recognized and gave you credit for your hard work and dedication over the years. It is quite unfortunate that our own brothers and sisters in blue would stoop this low to say negative things about your family. You really have to ask yourself, where do you draw the line? I haven't had the pleasure of getting to know them, but if you are any reflection of them, they are great people. I would've never made you out for biker by the way.
