- Tribune: more than 20 wounded, 6 fatalities;
- Channel 2: 36 shot, 2 stabbed, 9 fatalities;
- Channel 5: 38 shot, 8 fatalities and 13 of the wounded were CPS honor roll students;
- Channel 7: 37 shot, 8 fatalities;
- Channel 32: 38 shot, 2 stabbed, 8 fatalities and a quadruple shooting (1 dead) at a southside McDonald's continuing the streak of violence plaguing the city since Friday.
Can't everyone get on the same page? Call the hospitals, call the morgue. And let's all agree on a specific time frame to narrow down the variations. School dismissal on Friday until midnight Sunday would seem fair.

Once upon a time in a City far away a police force stood their ground. they stopped suspcious people and they looked through cars they made lots of arrests they kicked some bad guy ass and the bad guys feared them.

They realized that some neighborhoods, black hispanic and even white ( ask an old 009 dist guy about the ville) too a little more than , contact cards, and caps meeting to control the disproportionate numbers of criminal sociopaths.
Then the politics changed and the lawyers started milking the city for millions ( that’s not their fault – looks at the judges and juries who award millions , and the city who settles on every lame accusation ) so the old guard left and the and feds got involved...and da mayor got scared....and now we have this ...... a handcuffed department being run by someone who has no clue what the hell he got into.
Problem now is we ant back out of this mess, there is no going back. Even if the administration wakes up, most of the young bucks (that includes, POs, Sgts. Lts Capts and Cmdrs) on this job are unwilling or don’t know how to do the job.

As a Sergeant, I too, tell the troops to go the other way- although I would be the first to disregard my own advice and try to do police work. In nearly twenty years I've yet to have it stuck in my ass in the name of political expediencey: however, when trying to do police work that day might one day come. Protect policemen, our families, and the little old lady who gets purse snatched. All others can eat their sushi at their own risk at the sidewalk cafe's in the shadow of the Kings, MLD'S, Cobra's, et al. I can roll out the red and yellow tape like the best of them! And that's all I'll do.
At least one of the recent murders truly was a community service. Michael Giles killing by his own accomplishes something that police were unable to do: that is, to put an end to his criminal career. Giles was truly a POS and got what he had long deserved, two in the chest and one in the head.

When I was a kid, there was a news reporter that lived on our block. He was my friends father and he was never home. He would just run in and out with pieces of paper shoved in all of his pockets and I always remember him running. Another rough day at CPD!
I have responded crisply and professionally to all my calls, documented everything! I arrest when required to by law.
Now I check off with 4 truants, 4 parkers, 2 movers, a burg alarm, foot, park check, bus check and 6 contact cards done on my movers and truants.
Occasionally I run into strange, interesting and disturbing shit but I really love this JOB.
THE OLD DAYS:
Worked tact I was the SHIT!
Stopped 20 cars a day on the west side, drove lights and sirens like a maniac to a HOT call.
Felony court for guns and dope, stole pinches from the watch, ducked early and often, took duck days, came in early for dbl team so we could leave earlier.
Knew every shithead in the district, had informants, did search warrants, chased guys with guns and dope and actually caught them, knew everything about every gang in my district and all the ranks. Could show up on a scene and practically name a shooter.
I LOVED THE GOOD OLD DAYS!
21ST CENTURY POLICEING IS DIFFERENT! I'M GLAD I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY AND FUN, YOU GUY'S WON'T SEE IT NOW.
