Stupid Idea - Smart Comment
Taking Shortshanks' thought to its logical conclusion:
- I guess we need to take this to the logical end. If fewer cops won't impact our safety, then fewer politicians shouldn't impact city services. Maybe the mayor and city council should resign, we won't elect anyone new, and Chicago will be a perfect city! (now that I think about it, it's a great idea!)

Who is paying for the "Daleys" to go on their Russian trip? If the city is, they need to stay home and use the money where it is needed. They can conference call whomever they are trying to impress. And who is carting their family around on my tax dollars and why?

Let's return them back to the part-time salaries, if they want to put in a full week, well lets say they are keeping house. Cut back on their over sized budgets. Everyone of them needs two offices? One at City Hall and the other in their ward. Who pays for all that real estate? Do they need two offices?
All their work can be done on a computer we can do on the internet now at home. I say cut the fifty down to twenty-five part time jobs. Da mayor don't need all those political dept heads either. Traffic aids? Cut them too. Just keep the jobs that are needed to provide services and support. Get rid of all the relatives. Make a generation skip between families. Give us two degrees of separation.

We need to get rid of at least 25 aldermen,that would balance the budget. Todays suntimes says only 6 aldermen are turning down their 6% cost of living increase. Well I want a 6% increase too.
save about 2.5 million by cutting the jobs that don't affect public safety and health first.
GET RID OF THE CIVILIAN DISTRICT MANAGERS ASSIGNED TO EACH OF THE 25 POLICE DISTRICTS; THEY DO NOTHING AND MAKE ABOUT $90,000.00 PER YEAR. The spot was created in the early nineties and they serve no useful purpose.
Do the math, 90,000 X 25 = $2,250,000.00 per year.
Since the mayor says they will layoff some police, J-fed has decided to have all officers pass the power test to keep their job.

And are his deatil guys just standing around? hey j-fed why not put these guys back in uniform in 007 where we need them until his highness returns? As a matter of fact what do burkes guys do when he is on vacation? Maybe they could be utilized in districts! Great idea huh!
We don't need aldermorons anyway, we can call 311 ourselves and get things done this would save 100 million+ if we dump them! Then hopefully daley will be in prison asap, why not on council day we go and arrest them all, for extorsion,theft,inattention to duty, carrying a gun without ever qualification, incompetence, etc... Would we world news and we would be doing our jobs after all we are told to take an action when crime is being committed!

Sounds like he finally picked a winner with his bookie.
As a citizen, Chicago needs to get rid of hald of the Alderman this city has. There is no need for that many Alderman who do almonst nothing but collect salaries.
"Get rid of half of the city's alderman cont."A lot of the work done by Alderman can be done by any citizen by calling 311 and requesting city services. I've done it many times and have encouraged other to do so too.
