Stripping captains requires a standard of "Just Cause." I suppose that can be interpreted differently to different people, but based on the Captains dumped so far, it has to be conduct bordering on criminal conduct. Dumping for an increase in crime in their district/on their watch would be grievable, and an almost definite winner. I don't buy this one. Unless, of course, someone has better info.....

I am not the original poster, but while I agree that there is a big difference on the surface, and that if the PO is consorting with criminals is a bad apple and should be removed, the point is that Cuello was cleared of wrongdoing almost instantly with no apparent thorough investigation, while the blue shirt was stripped instantly, with no apparent thorough investigation. It's a double standard and it sucks.
Too bad, looks like Juan has completely sold his soul. Great guy, one of the best Bosses I ever worked for, now elevated to the status of Political Hack. It's a shame. Maybe he can save a copper or two, more than likely not.

OT: How about the 2 P.O.'s from 012 who arrested and processed and then transported a 28 year old for cannabis and when he gets into the 011 lockup they find a loaded weapon in the inside pocket of the vest he was wearing alonmg with an extra 5 rounds in the pocket. 5 rounds in chamber and 5 loose. They claim they searched him but that was after they took his vest off. He shouldve been let go just for not using the weapon when he had soooo many chances to. Worked for RIVERA in 025, He is one of the few bosses that from day one would sit and B.S. with us in the office just like he was one of us. And then would hit the streets right next to us or even by himself. He is the real deal and originally went to IAD because they had no clue what to do with DINK and company.
I'd rather have a guy up there who's actually walked in my shoes, than some do-nothing inside politician, or much less a never-locked-up-a-real-criminal FED.

Why do you always assume this stuff was written by an Irish guy? Most Irish get along fine with all other races and cultures. For us southsiders, Beverly is a fully integrated neighborhood because the Irish didn't flee like all the other whites did. Even Mount Greenwood is becoming more diverse but there is no rush to move..As for Irish Clout babies, we have always made up a major percentage of this department, look at the Honored Star Case to see what we've given to this department. And for the record, I hate Daley more then you because I am Irish and I doubt the Irish have had anything to do with him being elected since his first election. And finally, having worked a number of Southside Irish parades, I'm glad it's over and props to the committee for their insight. I agree that Juan Rivera is a very nice guy. We all know he is Hispanic. Their is no reason for him to promoted because of either. We need someone in IAD that first had that kind of a background. With the types of allegations and interference we are receiving from all over, we need someone that has total knowledge of our rules and regulations, the law and city guidelines, not someone that is a nice guy and will basically follow direction. This is about control. It is very convenient since he is a Hispanic and a nice guy. We would also benefit if that person had a legal background. He does not. Lastly, it is a reality in the fact the Chief Skahill who is an attorney and can give a rats ass about what race you are or who you are connected to, blatently told the Superintendent that no matter what, she had to do her job. She was actually having Asst. Supt. Cuello's case thoroughly investigated and the many many cased agains Mike Masters investigated. You also have an FBI agent who has not worked in IAD as the Commander. Do you even recall the accouncement of his promotion?
This is all done by design. The more I take a good look, the more this place stinks! Each day we are moving one step further behind and JFED is doing the same thing here that he did at the FBI, the people from his administration and who he chooses are NOT subject to internal investigations! He controls them and directs them. Chief Rivera is just a puppet collecting a check, nothing else!

85 in May, then the list comes down a new test will be given in November. The 3 years is up for the list.
Remember, the chief of IAD is not conducting the actual investigations.
So it doesn't really matter who is driving the bus.

The bigger issue is how someone like JDR 019 can get to that position.

No the truth is you a large number of captains that are dumped previous exempts. They are the most miserable fucks in the world. Then you have a large number of old timers that are just not doing shit but taking up space. They need to replace all the Captains in 011, 004, 008, 025 and 012. I don't care who the Commander is, these fucks run the watches and are with us each and every day. The two units I worked for had citywide freedom at one time and in recent months, I have had to be on one side of the city or another. No matter what watch, we all hated and continue to hate to go into either one of those districts. The desk crew is a direct reflection of the fucked up Captains and Acting Watch Commanders we endure each and every day.
You cannot put an old time Captain with no interest in working hard in a fast paced district. They cannot keep up with us and get pissed if we have them do any additional work!
Retire worthless fucks and take AS Cuello, DS Peterson, Brust and Jpud with you!

Depends on who you ask. This is what I am talking about, just becuase it is posted here and one person believes it, it is the gospel. I remember when I worked in 025, the Austin paper continually posted articles against him because the communtiy hated him! We were in agreement also!
If the officers in 017 want me to treat them like cops then they should start ACTING like cops.

Hes from Sanchez ward? Yea this will be interesting. And all I have heard about him has been positive which may be a good sign, but he is young and Daley will be able to control him unlees he wants to tb a Lt. somewhere.
I just saw a news story in the South-town star about 8 states that are considering requiring welfare recipients to submit to random drug screening in order to be eligible for food stamps, and other welfare entitlements.
It's about time.

They proposed the same bill in Illinois just this year. The Revs were in the news throwing a fit saying it was racist because "the majority of people on welfare are black and the majority of them use drugs so it would discriminate aginst them" the bill didn't go anywhere.

Interesting thing is that he has been taken care of pretty much his whole career. Never really been in a District.
Capt. Glombick moved to 1W in 021. Thank you for moving a dog PO and a guy who forgot where he came from.
But when the promotional lists comes out with mostly Irish clout babies from specialized units you guys say nothing.

There's a CR on Masters and Skahill wouldn't sweep it under the rug. Sooo...they turned to the Chief in the CAPS office and asked her to be new IAD chief and she said no thanks. SOOOO....they moved Skahill out of IAD and demoted the one from CAPS to Captain and put her in the Personnel Division.
The press may be touting how Hispanic Juan Rivera is, but he is The Police! I've known Juan for many years and never heard him refer to himself as any particular ethnicity and never saw him single out any person for favoritism based on ANY ethnic background. Any references to LAPA and Juan are 100% BS!
It's too bad that more Bosses on this Department don't believe in the merit of the individual instead of the nationality/race of the person. Juan does!
i also had a run in w/ capt. jim o'donnell. unless you hire the guy to pour concrete or rod your toliet, he was a "do as i say and not as i do" guy! true story.

I was under the impression the Black community hated him and they were attempting to push him out. Everyone else seemed to like working for him.
So Cpt L in 017 is being sent to 024...we all know it's because of the stroke Mealer...and to top it off we're getting another shady one from 024...who btw is Mealers right hand man...WAY TO GO MEALER...we'll see how much activity comes in now!
Tina Skahill, good for you, I have always believed in your character. I am glad that J-Pud did not hurt your pay-check. Take it easy in your new CAPS job.
