- Community activists are calling for the removal of Cook County Circuit Judge Bertina Lampkin from the case Shawn Gaston, who's one of three men charged in the June murder of Chicago Police Officer Alejandro "Alex" Valadez.
That is the ENTIRE article in the Chicago Breaking News site. Nothing about Lampkin releasing Gaston on bail for weapons charges. Nothing about her ridiculous sentencing of the other shooter (Walker) getting two years probation for sticking a gun in some one's ear. And another murderer she released in 2001 who went on to kill again a few years later.
This ought to be a bit bigger of a story. And the FOP ought to be helping out these community activists in removing Lampkin from any consideration as the trial judge for the murder of a police officer.

Lampkin was married to a police officer some years back. That should be enough to have her removed.

Judge Lampkin is and has been one of the best judges at 26th st. She has handled numerous cases involving the police and has been on our side.

It's almost comical how we are held to the flame for every little thing we do, and sometimes don't do for that matter. Yet the judges of Crook County, who are supposed to administer the punishments set forth by the law, do so with absolute impunity.
The absence of justice doesn't seem to bother anyone accept those of us who are enforcig these seemingly frivilous references/laws.
Some day John and Jane Q. Public will wake up, smell their Starbucks and realize they have become victims of their own undoing.
These judges need to be held accountable for their blatant disregard for the law and those of us who risk our lives to upholding it.

She's always been a fair, pro police, judge. She had a terrible error in judgment that had tragic results. I'm probably going to get a lot of flak, but she doesn't deserve this. I've been in front of her numerous times on murder cases and I always got more than a fair shake. She's a good judge and I'm sure she feel terrible about the way things turned out. You know what.....? I've made a serious judgment error We sure bitch and moan when we try to do our best and the community turns on us , don't we? Is this that different. Just like one slip up by Cozzi defined his career, this one slip up will define Lampkins. She is 100 percent pro police as a judge. And anyone that appeared in her court room would know that. How many of you on here that criticized her have appeared in her room on a case? If you did you would know how she is.

Those with court time at 26th Street know - Judge Lampkin is a good judge. Sorry this doesn't fit some agenda's - resume the tar and feathering cause it makes us feel good.
Hate to tell you haters, but Judge Lampkin has always been pro-police, and furthermore she began her career as an ASA under the GOP. She does not make excuses for mutts, and is one of the better Crook COunty judges. I have experienced far worse than her, and far worse by male white judges, who were ASA's with her. Claps and Schultz for starters!!!

Chief of IAD spotted the vehicle and was in the area.

The explanation is that the famous A/2 gun team came up to the Northwest side and executed a search warrant on a white firefighter while he was at work. Lampkin has refused a Franks Motion even though there is proof that the warrant was not factual and the A/2 CI does not seem to exist. Even now the A/2 gun team has never been in Lampkins court room once on this case and the ASA just keeps getting continuances hoping the firefighter will plea out. Sound like the A/2 guys feel they got a weak sandbag case here? This sandbag is very involved and being a cop and having done search warrants it sucks to look at this case and see through the falsehoods of the A/2 gun team and their nonexistent CI. Some of us have been to Lampkins court room and have seen first hand the miscarriage of justice carried out by this racist judge against the firefighter. He will win his case on appeal I'm sure but he will still do a couple years during the appeal process.
Now I refrained from harsh language here concerning the A/2 gun team and the Judge. But what goes around comes around and someday these guys with their lies and sandbags will get what they deserve. The majority of us on this job do not sandbag innocent people nor do we put the non deserving in jail. The A/2 gun team and the few on the job like them who will sandbag anyone for a head put a black mark on all the honest cops on the job.
As far as this firefighter being a "rat" and still on the job I will tell this idiot you know nothing about what you just said. Ted is no longer on the CFD and he is no "rat" so eithr you are referring to some other person or you are just a piece of ignorant shit who shoots his mouth off not knowing what he is talking about.
hate to tell you all but judge lampkin is a really good judge. ive have several cases in her court. she is very plesant and fair. she is huge police supporter. i hate to say it but judge lampkin isnt the only judge that are sentencing people to probation. its cook county as a whole that is the problem. if you are a bad guy and are convicted of a gun crime odds are you are gonna get probation.. robbery, probation, dope probation. its not the judges its the cook county system. at least judge lampkin finds these morons guilty at the bench trials. she can sentence them to prison but thats not how it goes here. a sentence in cook county and sangamon county or kankakee county are a world apart. in cook you get probation almost from any judge... in the others your looking at a guaranteed 2 or three in the penn. i know it sucks, we are all mad but its not the judge, its the system. sorry to deflate any of the arguements so i guess you can try to inflate it again just because we are mad this happened but sometimes you need to think about things first in a bigger picture before pointing fingers. just sayin

Probation? Bullshit like I said before, she sure will not give the white firefighter probation. Let's see over 20 years honorable service as a firefighter, Army veteran, never been arrested and he was a gun collector not a gangbanger. He had a gun collection kept at home in a gun safe not running the streets carrying a gun illegally or doing drive bys. The Judge promised him jail time if he loses the case not probation like the black gangbangers get in her court room. The problem here is that once again another political racist Cook County Judge got caught giving probation on top of probation for some black gangbanger but this time her probation caused the death of one of us. Now quit sticking up for her or trying to justify her handling of the system. Bottom line her probation helped cause the death of a one of us!!!
Lampkin is a soft judge with no common sense. She is not pro police if she were those mutts would be in prison for violating their probation. She had to gun cases tossed out cause she felt sorry for them. I haven't been in 26 cal for sometime. Don't miss it. Woof woof.

Lampkins been at 26th and Cal doing a great job since most of you were in kindergarten. She was a major kick-ass ASA in the old 44/66 and usually was the last ASA to leave the bldg every day. Why she stays and doesn't take her talented self into a private practice is beyond me. I think she just hates thugs too much. When too many probations are given out, look to the Chief Judge. He makes the call.
BTW, the chief judge gets his spot from Burke too!
