Da Bears Written Off

The Tribune is brutal in its coverage of the Bears pre-season game:
  • ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Jay Cutler Era in Chicago all but started with a thud.

The Bears' 27-20 loss to the Bills in their exhibition opener Saturday night was supposed to be a sneak peak of what type of firepower Cutler would inject into the offense.

Well, in 14 plays he never marched his team into the end zone, threw a head-scratching floater off his back foot that was picked off by Leodis McKelvin and nearly had another ill-advised throw intercepted by Reggie Corner.
Geez, it's the pre-season! The first pre-season game, for pete's sake. There's a long way to go here, so let's not panic yet.

Screw the bears and the NFL. I have played football my entire life, went to a D1 school thanks to football, and up until this week was a life long fan of the NFL.
After seeing vick getting back in was bad enough but now seeing stalworth gets back in after he serves a 1 year suspension is BULLSHIT. Dude should be in prison till his playing days are over. I mean FUCK, a copper kills someone in a DUI 4,6 10 years a kisses his/her job goodbye. A mutt that can catch a ball got 17 days and has to sit in the corner till next season... FUCK the NFL
I am so happy I grabbed season tix for the Hawks to keep me going thru the cold season!

No, Fuck You!

I'm sure that there are jags in every ownership group in every major league sport in the country, so why don't you just go and watch Pop Warner football, asshole, and we'll watch what we choose to watch.

Sounds like sour grapes from someone who wasn't good enough to go pro.

So, in your twisted little mind, it's O K for DUI cops to "kill someone"? You really are a dumb fuck!

Like it or not, we are held to a higher standard, and I'm certain that if you polled all Americans, including Police Officers, they would say that high moral character is much more important in their law enforcement Officers than in it is in their favorite players in the NFL!

Professional athletes should not be role models for society. Police Officers should be.

Let's see what happens when the Bears go to Green Bay on Sept 13th, you know, on nationally televised Sunday Night Football, like, when the REAL season starts!?! Until then, it's all practice... sort of like the difference between being in the Police Academy but then jumping into a beat car and answering radio assignments. Apples and oranges.

OT - Alleged Gun Prank Ricochets Into Feud
August 16, 2009 10:16 PM
Like many cops, Chicago Ridge Police Chief Tim Baldermann has walked the line between extending courtesies to outside officers for minor infractions and slapping cuffs on them for more serious crimes. But a courtesy he recently extended to an off-duty Chicago officer is causing him a headache.

Last month, Chicago Ridge police detained off-duty Chicago Police Officer William Singer after he jokingly displayed his handgun to a mall worker without identifying himself as an officer, authorities said.

After his employment was verified, police released him as a courtesy, authorities said, but warned him to show better judgment. Baldermann's office later got a notice from a law firm representing Singer and his wife, claiming emotional distress as a result of the incident.

I think we should become Lions fans then, they could use all the fans they can get. And as a Lions fan. I wish no team 0-16.

I don't know what game you were watching. The game I saw, the Bears won 3-0. Its a preseason game the starters are only in for one quarter. It was obvious that Cutler and the wide-outs are not on the same page yet. Forte was not in the game and they never tried to establish the run. The Bears offense is a run first offense. Right now, the Bears are just trying to figure out who to cut. Wait for the regular season.

Get ready for the Lovie Smith week by week broken record:

"Jay is our quarterback..."

BTW, whatever happened to the QB formerly known as Rex? Has he landed on his feet? Or should I say his ass?

GOD BLESS THE GREEN BAY PACKERS!!!
I'm back and looking forward to a tremendous season for the Packers. All accounts from the sports shows say they are looking good. They had a terrific draft and everyone is healthy. Can't wait for Sept. 13th. Got to pick them for the division right now.
