Trial Date for Ike
We're betting he takes the guilty plea in exchange for tiny prison time:
A federal judge today set a March 8 trial date for indicted Chicago Ald. Ike Carothers (29th) and a wealthy developer, both accused of taking part in a zoning-for-bribes scheme.
Prosecutors, meanwhile, plan to turn over evidence in the case to the defense today.
Carothers, an ally of Mayor Daley, and Chicago developer Calvin Boender have pleaded “not guilty” to the bribery and fraud charges.
We are most interested to see what the wire Ike wore actually captured in terms of bribes, contract fixed and job placement. Ike has a lot of relatives on the public payroll. Could be he let slip on how they got their jobs at some point. And who knows what might have transpired at certain Committee Meetings.

In 1985, a federal judge ordered William Carothers, his two sons, and a fourth man to pay $152,000 in damages for a campaign of physical violence and intimidation organized by William Carothers, from prison, against a political opponent. Independent incumbent Illinois State Representative Arthur Turner of the far west side 17th District was challenged in 1982 by William Carothers' former assistant, Ozzie Hitchins, who was supported by the then imprisoned William Carothers. Turner aides were threatened with guns and one Turner aide suffering severe injuries to the side of the head, including broken bones. At the time Isaac and his brother were both Cook County deputy sheriffs with access to guns. Turner and aides filed a civil lawsuit following their defeat by Hitchins. U.S. District Judge Charles Kocoras said Isaac Carothers appeared to be the ringleader and "organized their acts of intimidation" by force while the other son used his deputy's position to verbally threaten the plaintiffs. Isaac Carothers was ordered to pay $25,000 of the damages.[3][4]
And Tony Carothers was just given a merit promotion by..... Ike Carothers.

Why is that criminal still in charge of the police? Why did the media ask for his comment on the use of deadly force policy when he is under indictment? Why does the media not bring this up? Why does Shortshanks get away with this? How can a disgraced alderman still be making policy decisions for the second largest police department in the country?
Why aren't the citizens of this city as pissed off as they should be about these things? Sheeple.

You realize, of course, that while these "facts" MAY BE correct, all it really means FOR SURE is that someone with a computer deposited the remarks on wikipedia. It does not necessarily mean it is correct or fact checked OR TRUE.

Tiny prison term; swept under the rug; stays out of public eye; everyone forgets; gets hired by the city in some 6 figure consultant position.
Promote your brother meritoriously, twice, then when he is a lieutenant, place him in command of detectives, a critical job for which he is totally unqualified. He will remain there until he is promoted to commander. No wonder this job is scewed up.

The only bad thing about all of these Alderman getting indicted is that Daley will get to pick their replacements. Until the Feds cleanup the entire mess, it will be the same thing with different players.

Hey feds, if you're looking into Alderman Squeal's activities, ask him why a dope house operated with impunity across the street from his office; also ask him about his "alleged"financial interests in the Altgeld Gardens and Eden Greens and Concordia Homes complexes, and also ask him about the "alleged"kickback he got from a city employee for his support in a lawsuit...against the city!
If you don't ask him I'll send my proof to scc and the media and maybe they will!
guess what south side alderman. named in this blog allegely has the following ethical violations...
allegedly took kickbacks from one of his city employed constituents for his support in a lawsuit against the city
allegedly is involved with the carothers investigation,and not in a good way ( think co defendant co conspirator)
allegely has financial interests in two far south side housing developmens
allegely turned a blind eye to a drug operation that was next door to his aldermanic office
Im not going to drop his name because if I do, I'm sure he would squeal about it at least 9 times.
