Toddler Runs on Taxes
- Cook County Board President Todd Stroger unveils his budget for next year which he says includes no new taxes or fees.
He told county commissioners on Thursday afternoon that the $3 billion spending plan will not reduce services.
Stroger says this is possible because of a controversial sales tax increase passed last year.
See? He's already raised the taxes and bought off at least one commissioner who changed her vote so the tax hike could stay. Now he can claim to be "holding the line" on the previous increases.

raise sales taxes all day long! I dont shop in Cook COunty FOR ANYTHING!!! Just leave the property tax alone! Fuck, raise the sales tax to 100%... if you are stupid enough to shop here then you deserve it! Let the morons pay for everything! Why is that in this stinking, cesspool of a city - the City Council and Aldercreatures NEVER consider cutting expenses FIRST! They always go after raising taxes.
50% of your property taxes go towards education in this county. Consider that you work for a full 2 months to pay your property taxes - imagine that your hard-earned dollars are all being spent at Fenger, Westinghouse, Crane or Steinmetz.

It would be politically incorrect not to.
Stroger is finished. This is a non-story.
His approval rating is below 10% countywide. His only supporters are people who don't pay taxes, and, of course, these people rarely vote. I'll bet there is less than $25,000 in his re-election campaign. He is done.
The real enemy is Pat Quinn. He is the one who has to go, if you want to have any money in your pocket in four more years.

How does Stroger actually say, with a straight face, that he won't raise the HIGHEST TAXES IN THE COUNTRY any higher???
Don't forget the 6% property tax PROPOSAL for City of Chicago in cRook county!

Do Not Vote For Anyone Related to the Cook County Democratic Party. Stroger is a fucking dog, as is Richard M. Daley, and all their theiving associates.

Cook County does not have a sales tax.
The state of ilinois has a sales tax and that tax is 10.25 percent.
State gets 6.25
city of chicago 1.25
RTA 1.0
and Cook County 1.75
Cook County's portion is only 1.75 percent. ASK THE STATE TO GIVE BACK A PORTION. OH WHAT??? THEY ARE 12 BILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT!!!!!
