Exercise in Futility?

Bears are three-point dogs at home tonight and pretty much 100% pooches with the offensive line.

The Blackhawks on the other hand are looking pretty sharp the past few weeks, winning 6 in a row including the first two of their Circus road trip by convincing 7-1 and 5-2 margins.

They're playing tonight on the west coast, so after the Bears dig themselves a hole at halftime, we'll be switching over.

I'd rather watch opera..or Oprah...then a bunch of doubled up grill wearing 2-extra long thugs.

Only difference in watching the bulls or working 15 is that in 15 the tips don't involve a ball.

There will be no talk of 3 point spreads and underdogs. It is now my job as moral compass of the CPD to get a blanket CL# on the entire department.
I'm smart, I'm good looking and gosh darn it people like me.

The “Punky QB known as McMahon” has left the Chicago area.

Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jim McMahon, who famously recited that line as his part of the team’s ” Super Bowl Shuffle” in its Super Bowl-winning 1985-86 season, has sold his 9,626-square-foot mansion in Northbrook for $2.85 million and moved to Florida.

Funny!

Chris Collinsworth just said "Charles Tillman is unbelieveable. He's like a pickpocket!", this after he knocked out his 2nd loose ball from a receiver this evening.

Holy Crap!

Tillman knocked another one loose! That's # 3 two of which the Bears recovered.

At least they're showing a little heart tonight. Up 20-17 in the 4th Qtr.

I think Trinity in River Forest could take the Bears. Of course, that would require the all-girls school to put together a team, but I am confidant they could take the Bears anyway.

I didn't watch the game last night (1st one I missed) but would flip in between commercials to see how they were doing and was asleep by the end of the 4th quarter.

Seriously, I'm surprised they won and are doing half decent this season. They frustrate me every time I watch them. Might be the fact that I hate Reid, can barely tolerate McNabb, am disgusted and embarrassed because they picked up Vick, still pissed because they let Dawk go, and just praying that Westbrook makes a full recovery from his concussions.

I look at it this way (and you Bears fans should too): at least my fave team isn't Cleveland, Detroit, Tampa Bay or St. Louis. Watching any of them would be seriously depressing!

You all be safe out there.

GO SOPEL--- sorry brother, the hawks are shopping him around and may have a taker in toronto--- he is good and made a remarkable recovery from a serious elbow injury last year--- the hawks want to take his 2.5 million cap hit away to make room for the kane, toews, keith trifecta--- niemi was outstanding between the pipes recording a shutout with 30 saves--- first start in a month and the kid looked like he didn't miss a beat--- he drops down and flashes the pillows faster than any big man i have seen in a long time--- hawks vs sharks wed night in san jose where they are 7-0-2 at home....

Bears need are going to need a heavy spring cleaning of management/coaching.
------------------------------
The thing is that the teams that have had long term success have been the ones with the least trun over in coaching and management. Its tempting to want to turn thigs around by firing the coach or genreral manager, but it rarely works very quickly.

I do think that a horrible mistake was made in bringing in a QB like Culter. Neither Ron Turner nor Lovey Smith have much of a clue on how to best use him.

Worse yet, if you look at the teams that consistanrely have good passing games, they have good o-lines. The Bear o-line is long in the tooth and there is not a whole lot coming up in the ranks. Renting O. Pace for a year or two was no solution. It just puts off the need to rebuild the line.

The long term good teams also tend to be the ones who find talent in unexpected places. Look at the success of the Patriots in finding talent and bringing it along.
