One Step Closer

  • Mumia Abu-Jamal, whose death sentence for killing a Philadelphia police officer in 1981 has become an international cause célèbre for opponents of capital punishment, has suffered a significant setback at the US Supreme Court.

In a summary order issued on Tuesday, the high court reversed a 2008 federal appeals court ruling that had required a new sentencing hearing for Mr. Abu-Jamal.

[...] Tuesday’s action by the Supreme Court likely moves Abu-Jamal significantly closer to execution.

Not a moment too soon. Twenty-nine years?

Fucking joke of a legal system!

How do you kill somebody then get 29 years to put a case on?

That is why people kill everyday without thinking twice about it.... Why would you?

We have NO deterrent in this country. None at all.

Especially in Cook County.

29 years of wasted resources courtesy of the taxpayers while multiple appeals processes are filed while being housed in a prison getting 3 meals a day.

29 years the copper's family had to see this piece of shit allowed to breathe while their loved one rotted.

29 years a copper's family has gone without their husband, father, brother, son or uncle around to enjoy birthdays, holidays, family vacations, school field trips, weddings, grammar school plays, baseball games, ballet recitals and the endless rewards that come with raising children.

29 years of precedent that other cop killers and violent offenders will use to extend their respective appeals and longevity.

There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to justify having allowed this piece of shit to occupy planet Earth for a day past his conviction.

My thoughts are with the officer's family as I wait with great anticipation at hearing Mumia Abu-Jamal has been executed.

Let's not forget to name the officer who was killed. His name was Daniel Faulkner. Do not forget.

As for his killer, that POS with an arab name, he had a different name when he killed Faulkner. It was not until he discovered the fastest growing religion in U.S. prisons that he changed his name to the now-known-among-all-wacko-liberal crowd.

Mumia -- biggest phony ever. he has suckered so many people into believing him maybe they should give him an effin oscar right before they pull the switch on him.

Don't forget to boycott all products and hollywood types who support the POS.

Rest in peace P.O. Faulkner. Many remember what happened to you. I pray for the day when your family will finally be at peace. God bless your family, the Philadelphia Police Department, and all our departed brothers and sisters.

look for them to protest all the up to obama and eric holder (top U.S. attorney now). this will get interesting.

We should all pay attention, especially after the Demo-rats lost ted's seat in massachusetts.

when I was in DC at the memorial about 8 years ago, a Philly cop was handing out dollar bills that had the words "FRY MUMIA" stamped on them... He said the Philly cops all donated a hundred dollars (give or take a few cheap fucks) and they were passing them out to coppers for nothing. The deal was you had to hold onto it until the fuck wad was fried, and then every one of the dollar bills was to be circulated at the same time! After the appeals court decision, I was more than a bit pissed, and figured I would have this dollar forever...THIS IS THE BEST NEWS I HAVE HEARD IN SOME TIME!!! THANK GOD FOR THE RIGHT LEANING SUPREME COURT!!!

And to those of us who are southsiders, whether Police or not, please BOYCOTT the Ben & Jerrys which will be opening soon on the corner 111th & Lawndale. It's affiliated with St. Xavier's, but the Ben & Jerry's sign is prominently displayed. With all the Police and friends and relatives of the Police, lets make a statement and put them out of business as soon as possible. To those of you who might be looking for an ice cream treat for the kids, consider the ice cream shop on 111th & Homan which is owned by a lifelong Mt. Greenwood resident and a great guy. Support "the little guy" especially when he's up against Ben & Jerry's which helped support a CONVICTED COP KILLER!!

The Philly coppers NEVER forgot. Every time we saw them in DC for the National Memorial, they always wore the Danny Faulkner shirts.
These are more than words - It's a philosophy of blue... NEVER FORGET!

On that note, show your support by considering attending the National Memorial in DC this May 13-16, 2010.
(St.Jude or Springfield also counts)
Details on DC are available by calling Pax 0304 and requesting a summary of this years events be sent to you via dept. mail. (I think they're available again this year.)
Hope to see you there.

Shows how this killer purposly disrupted the trial only to have a motion for an appeal when he knew he was guilty and would need a motion for an appeal.

If only those who support this jagoff would read it, maybe they would see how much of a jagoff killer this guy really is

Mumia ABU-JAMAL, aka Wesley COOK, #AM8335 is currently on death row at SCI Greene, Waynesburg, PA (extreme SW PA 50 miles south of Pittsburgh).

In PA, the death chamber for lethal injection is on the grounds of SCI Rockview, Bellefonte, PA. Executions are scheduled for 7 PM local time. Shortly before his execution date, ABU-JAMAL will be transported 200 miles to Rockview.

Your best lodgings for ABU-JAMAL's execution would be 10 miles south in State College, PA, the home of the Nittany Lions of Penn State University. Great college town with the best sticky buns this side of the Mississippi.

Remember this next time CTA needs something from you...

>>CHICAGO—On Saturday, April 26, over 200 trade unionists, students, socialists, black nationalists, death penalty abolitionists and anti-racist activists rallied at Chicago’s federal plaza to demand immediate freedom for death row political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal. ...

Over a dozen transit workers from ATU Locals 241 (bus) and 308 (rail) participated in the rally, and raised the Local 308 banner by the stage. Mike Wallace, an executive board member of Local 241 explained that his union of some 6,000 is the largest bus operators union in the U.S. “241 has been in support of Mumia and his cause. We have passed a resolution at our last board meeting in support of this event and of free Mumia. Along with our sister union Local 308 we will continue to support Mumia until he is free! Free Mumia!” <<
