Armed Subject Shot
Late Thursday night. Cops fine, subject to stand trial, then sue, then get paid:
Chicago Police shot an armed man who fled tactical officers and led police on a chase through “yards and alleys” Thursday night in the South Side Back of the Yards neighborhood, police said.
About 9 p.m. Thursday, Deering District tactical officers saw an armed male in the 5100 block of South Honore and exited their police vehicle and announced they were officers, police said.
The suspect fled and officers pursued on foot through yards and alleys. Responding uniformed officers ordered the suspect to stop, but instead he turned suddenly in the direction of the officers. As a result, officers shot him in the lower leg, according to a police News Affairs statement.
Nice jobs officers.

I always tell my fellow officers, when you have to deal with a man with a gun call, suspicious person, etc... and asshole takes off on you and then won't comply, reaches for his waist, is holding his side, etc... then shoot first and ask questions, second guessing, analysis, etc... later. Your life is way to important. And God forbid this department fucks you over, then let 12 people decide your fate. It is better than having six people carry you out!

Oh my god CAN'Tinella, shut up!!!!! What ever happened with that car chase that ended in a horrific crash 25min after it was called off? Great video guys but 933 afternoons tac material? Maybe in 009 but that isn't saying much....

Amen to that. When asshole takes off, he is looking for a break in the action to draw that gun or at least try and unload it to beat the "armed banger with a loaded gun" charge.

Worked that beat many moons ago, and it was a jumpin' beat then! Glad the Officers are safe, and don't think the tact world in ANY district is where it's at. The ONLY benefit is if you don't have the time to get days, on tact you're working half the year on days, so it's better for family life. If you've got a good watch with good Sgt's and W/C, that far outweighs the tact team. Trust me!
