Good News

In the midst of all the crap popping up lately, Chicago Police still go out, do their jobs and lay it on the line to save people from their own idiocy:
  • A woman was rescued from Lake Michigan after deciding to go for a swim late Friday.

At 11:54 p.m., three Town Hall District tactical officers were on patrol around 3600 N. Recreation Dr., when they saw a man standing on a seawall, according to a Town Hall District lieutenant.

When the officers approached, the man on the wall alerted them to a 20-year-old woman floating unresponsive in the water, the lieutenant said.

Two officers -- Richard Aztlan and David Rodriguez -- jumped in the water to try and save her, while the third officer called for backup.

She was rescued, the officers were OK and life went on. Nice job guys.

Good job officers!

Kudos to the Marine officers who located the little drowned boy and pulled the vehicle from the harbor too.

In spite of all the adversity the CPD still gets the job done!

OT: Is this the original SCC? Because I recall SCC being a Hawks Fan. A awesome season and a conference championship and no posts dedicated to the Hawks like the previous years. What gives? GO HAWKS!!!!!!!

Great Job RA and DR. Earlier in the week two other tactical officers from Town Hall rescued a man who fell into Montrose harbor. So good job to NL and RK for saving the man who fell in while fishing with his little boy.

After pulling her out they charged her with tresspass to the lake.

The man who witnessed the woman in the water was also charged with drinking on the public way.

Wow... a life saving award AND two CBs!

These officers put their lives on the line everyday and they barely get a pat on the back.

We should thank God every day for giving us these true heros.

Thank a police officer,
They deserve it!

I was very impressed by the Marine Unit and how they worked tirelessly to find the little boy in the River. I always thought it was a cool glamour job, hanging around the lakefront, getting a tan. I am sure it has those moments too, but they were outstanding. Also, class move to let the father help direct them to different locations. He calmed down considerably and no further tragedies occurred. All the support units, the 017th District, and CFD epitomized the "true" public servants we are.
