Cop Stabbed
A Chicago police officer was stabbed in the cheek this afternoon by a suspect while responding to a domestic-related call in the Far South Side's Morgan Park neighborhood.
The officer was taken to an area hospital, before being treated and released. The suspect, meanwhile, was in custody.
The officer responded to the call in the 1000 block of West 115th Street, police said.
No charges have been filed against the suspect as of this afternoon.

I can't stop thinking about the fact that J-Fled has never been to a domestic or carried a DOA down from the third floor, yet he loves to play dress up with OUR uniform. No class phony. Big muscles, big forehead, small testies. Please God, make him go away.

Knives are too often underestimated by police. Had this officer taken the blow in his neck, he may not have survived.
I really don't blame officers for being reluctant to use deadly force. Far too often they are too concerned about news stories and ghetto marches. The reality is that those ghetto marchers and the reporters that accompany them go away after 48 hours, while the facts remain and life goes on with one shithead less in the world.
You need to define where you stand before you find yourself in a life and death situation. If you are going to write reports then do so, and let these mopes run free. I have no problem with this approach in this day and age. But, if you are going to take action, be prepared to go all the way. A shithead running with a knife that he refuses to drop is a deadly threat and should be shot, preferably in the back, so he has no opportunity to use the knife.
Too many cops don't realize that they are 100% justified in this action despite what ghetto babble and our local reporters think.

Well boys and girls, the players at the top are being changed but the carnage continues; another cop shot and killed by some thugs in the hood. Put some cops out on the street working watches in patrol where they are sorely needed; get rid of these "specialized units" that really aren't very effective. The bottom line is that there just isn't enough of us out there on a daily basis 24/7 to even address the violence, unless of course that violence (or the suspected potential)is out there in the Central Control Group. For example recent email concerning a free concert at Millenium Park scheduled for July 19th from that complete fuck up georgas places MSF and TRU on standby for a concert. Mounted Unit assigned, as well as the Helicopter people. Tact guys from up north being assigned, other teams on standby. Georgas avoided the dump that should have come his way for the debacle that he produced with the Blackhawks celebration (and many other completely fucked up events that he "handled") but he continues despite his incompetence. Downtown Ernie Brown at least is a street copper and hopefully he can see through chubby g's bullshit and get rid of this mutt. Everone go to CCG for a concert and the beat guys get hammered without the support they need. Combine TRU and MSF send half of the manpower back to the districts that need them the most and keep the half that have the training and experience to address the violence. Eliminate georgas and replace him with Roussell as the ADS to run the Special Functions Group. At least then we can have a leader in that spot, one that has the knowledge and experience to be able to adequately address the city's violence and not just one looking to cover his sorry politcal ass like chubby g.
Unfortunately, de-policing is a major reason for increased attacks and deaths of police officers, these savages have absolutely no fear of us anymore, they know we aren't being aggressive anymore and they feed off it, i've heard it too many times, " these mothafucks aint gonna do shit." I was not there, but WTF...officer gets stabbed, and there were no shots fired??? WTF.

The officer was ready to shoot, gun drawn. However, there were a large group of kids in the background, and the officer was smart enough not to get tunnel vision. He realized that if he missed, he might hit a kid. He made a conscientious decision to charge the guy, and unfortunately, was sliced in the process.
He had balls of steel to do what he did. Congratulations on your bravery JR.
P.S. Charges approved for Agg Battery to a PO and Agg Domestic Battery, without video.

However, we can't play Monday Morning Quarterback here as to why or why not this guy isn't dead. We weren't there. We've all been there where we could have busted a cap at a guy, but didn't for whatever reason.
Years ago when I was a pup, I remember seeing a lone copper who responded to a domestic have to take down an out-of-control (and known to the neighborhood as being mentally ill) kid who was wildly swinging a large kitchen knife.
He had one of the old blackjack clubs that coppers used to carry years ago- flexible spring handle, lead striking head, all wrapped in a basketweave black leather... Popped the kid once on top of the head with a flick of the wrist and that was that...
I often wonder why coppers don't use the old blackjacks anymore. They were god-awful effective.

They used to be ubiquitous but it seems that a couple decades or three ago, they just vanished... I guess the PC Crusaders must've gotten on them because brother, the one I saw in action was lights-out effective on a determined, adrenaline-charged goblin. You'd think that more coppers would have them, but I guess there's some reason why they don't.
