Gunfire Lights Up Englewood

Well, that could be the headline any night of the week. But this was in broad daylight:
  • As diners at a busy South Side restaurant looked on in horror and dove for cover Tuesday morning, a gunman in an SUV peppered the street with bullets, forcing a fleeing car to speed through a red light and slam into a packed CTA bus.

Eleven people were hospitalized — two with serious injuries — after the No. 75 bus was rammed into a light pole at the intersection of 75th and Vincennes in Gresham at 9:35 a.m., authorities said.

  • “The guys in the black car were arguing real loud in the street with two men in a red truck,” he said. “Then two guys got out of the truck with an Uzi. It was probably drug related, but I wasn’t trying to listen to what they were saying, if you know what I mean,” he added.

The gunman escaped in the red SUV, he said. Police had made no arrests as of Tuesday evening, police said.

And wonder of wonders, the reverends were there to see their flock running amok. You know you can't swing a dead cat around by the tail without hitting a reverend in Englewood...or a dope fiend...or dope dealer... or, well, you get the idea:
  • Rev. Chester McLaurin, of Emmanuel Bible Church, was one of 10 pastors enjoying a cup of coffee at Ryan Anthony’s when the shooting began right in front of him.

“The Lord just saved us,” he said.

We wonder what Sunday's sermon is going to be about. Blaming society probably.

Its the auto manufacturers faults. If they didn't make cars this never would have happened. At least not the accident part.

Trying to glorify the incident by engraciating it with the Lord's name is unbelievable. Well, not really for an Englewood reverend. Any way to deflect people from the truth about the animal behavior is par for the course.

What we really need are hit squads in this good ole shit city. Instead of tac teams we should have hit squads like they have in Brazil.

Those damn CTA drivers...how dare they needlessly endanger their passengers like that!!!!! Driving through Englewood without armour plating. I'm sure the patrons have a legit suit against the city, or perhaps US Gov...safe passage and all.

Yeah CBS TV had some guy on there saying something to the effect that "We've got to find something else for these young people to do".

As if shootings are a "normal" way to handle afternoon boredom.

You're an idiot!

Besides, the savages already have their own hit squads and are doing their best to eradicate THEMSELVES from the planet.
Why stoop to their level?

Last Cabrini Green Building Comes Down Today

A wrecking ball will mark the end of an era this morning when it arrives at 1230 N. Burling St., otherwise known as Cabrini Green. The Burling Street hi-rise will be the last of the housing project buildings to be demolished.

***************************************

Now if we could just flatten Englewood and a few other choice areas, we'd really have something!

This is what passes for social culture in Englewood. That part of the city should be decommisioned and the animals left to their own ways.

If the person who ran the red light to get out of the way was not involved, they will be getting a red light camera citation. No excuses....unless he can prove he is a rev.

Aside from that, shootings and homicides way down this March. Shootings were also way down in February, aside from homicides holding steady.

Mother Nature and Tom Skilling to thank for that? Of course.

The first 2 weeks of February we had 20+ inches of snow on the ground.

And this March the weather has been so dismal. Cloudy, rainy, cold. Even though the sun has been shining all week, we have been struggling to get out of the 30s.

I have a feeling April won't be much better with temps mainly below normal. Sure we will hit a 70 or 2 but that's about it.

How about a shooting range for drug dealers & gangbangers? This way they can practice shooting with more accuracy. Awards can also be given to the best shooter.

One witness overheard the arguement was about U.S. Foriegn Policy. The guy in the black car took an isolationist stance and the red car guys was citing expansionism. Next thing you know, Libya was brought up and all hell breaks loose.

Sunday's sermon will be titled: "Please don't shoot at my Folgers"

If this isn't domestic terrorism what is? All these bangers should be considered "enemy combatants" and treated accordingly.

The problem is they have nothing to lose and the police have everything to lose, their jobs, pension, time they could spend in prison, and of course the civil suits.

The rules of engagement are drastically and permanent weighted to the side of the criminals who have no regard for human life.

The only way you can stop this mentality is to be more brutal to them then they are to the innocents because that is the only thing they understand. Unfortunately, the same civil rights they deny others through their brutality ensures that they will be forever protected from the only consequences we can give them that could discourage them from this type of behavior.

Stay safe out there, us civilians appreciate all you do.

It took you one sentence to reduce yourself to their level.

By the way, the word you were attempting is "ingratiate". No need to thank me.

So let me get this straight, there is a shooting where many people get hurt and it's a joke that a pastor who wasn't injured credits God for it? And when did anyone glorify the incident? You guys need to get your reading comprehension on asap!

It's hard for me.

I see a billboard that says, "Eat Butternut Bread."

Then I see another sign that says "Buy Silentone Mufflers For Your Car."

It stops me in my tracks, you know. Can't figure out which one to do first.

If someone didn't come and get me off the corner, I'd freeze out there.
