Double Murderer Charged

  • A Far South Side man was ordered held without bond after being charged with the shooting deaths of two people in the Chatham neighborhood Friday.

  • Prosecutors said in court that Russell admitted to the shooting and told police where to find the gun. He fired 14 shots from a 40-caliber pistol "until the gun jammed," officials said.

  • "Thankfully this was observed by a uniformed police officer... Thankfully the gun jammed. Thankfully the police officers were not struck and no innocent bystanders were struck," [Judge] Chiampas told Russell. "All this at the very young age of 22 years old, and you're facing a potential life sentence."
Well, not really your honor - this is Cook County after all. He might just get time served.

Aggravated battery. 20 years to life. Will serve 20 and out at 42 to cause more mayhem until he ends up 6 feet under, hopefully by age 43.

I can tell you this, if you're a worker, you know Peggy.

ANd if that is the case, then you know that once you attempt to do anything to the working police, Peggy will have your ass.

As somebody said previously - an excellent Judge.

What 40-cal holds 14 rounds? I want one!

After 14 rounds his gun more than likely went into slide lock because it was empty. I will not be critical of range personnel for our skills, it's not thier fault we only shoot 48 rounds a year "officially". The shitheads get a lot more practice on the street. No range fee, it's always open, and no job to interfere with. Science continues to look for the fountain of youth, when all along it is a 40oz, a .40cal, and a bag of flaming hot cheetos. They live forever

Maybe he just has to talk to the Crook County shrink and get released with medication. Poor fellow was just having a bad day. And then his gun jammed...No wonder he was upset!

no innocent bystanders were struck? Wasn't this a double murder? Or is Judge Chiampas as tainted as the rest of us ? .... I hope so

Then you can't have one, because you are obviously not the police...... Or you have really small hands.
Because my Glock 22 holds 16.

Perhaps the answer is to allow more shanks in state prisons, along with gang-integrated housing (and powerful shields for prison staff). Let the animals kill each other in an environment where innocent people won't get hurt.

FNH makes a .45 acp with 15 round capacity.

Hmmm... the two tone would make a nice retirement present and carry gun...

The Cook County Jail says that his bond is only $50,000! According to the Trib, he is being held without bond. His photo has been pulled from the Cook County Website, too. What is going on behind closed doors?
