Violence Continues

  • One man was killed and two teens were hospitalized after being shot this afternoon in a drive-by shooting in the West Pullman neighborhood on the far South Side, police said.

But officials said seven others, including four children, were injured in a traffic crash that occurred as paramedics were being dispatched to the shooting, said Chicago Fire Department Chief Joseph Roccasalva.

Police were called to the 11600 block of South Ada Street shortly after 3:30 p.m., police said.

Remember, if it didn't happen in 007 or 011, no one at 35th Street cares.

There may be violence at City Hall today after Burke's/Sneed's hit piece on Rahm's G8/Nato Summit failures. It will definitely be lively down there .

"Remember, if it didn't happen in 007 or 011, no one at 35th Street cares".

And when it does happen in 007 or 011, I still don't care.

The non-contributing leeches can be left to their own devices when it comes to thinning their own herds as long as I have any influence in the grand scheme of things.

As long as it doesn't happen where I live, I don't give a flying fuck.

Message to the savages in 007 & 011...and anywhere else in Chi-Troit: CARRY ON..

Holy crap, can we please stop using the term "shot" as two in teens were shot or a man was shot?

It is preferable to say "struck by a metal object."

Now isn't it more pleasant to read that 16 teens were struck by metal objects over the weekend than to read 16 teens were SHOT? Much better, there, it is done.

I understand your point; I agree. But let's remember that for every person "kilt" there are 3-5 people shot, AND those 3-5 people shot EACH RACK UP $200K in hospital ER services and emergency surgery, THEN they get SSI checks for the rest of their lives.

Person "kilt"= success

Person shot= $$$$$$$

Hey guess what else is happening in mid May besides the summits and the cross town classic?

Mid may is when the moratorium on US Post office closings ends!

35,000 more pissed off unemployed workers across the USA and each one of them a potential protestor!

GOING POSTAL BABY!

-----------

USPS cutting 35,000 jobs, 223 centers closing by May

Read more: http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/320148#ixzz1nbNogNvb

--------------

Meanwhile Rahm boast bullshit about creating jobs

"What we're doing here is making sure the nurses, where we have 18,000 jobs over the next eight years, they don't just go to graduates coming out of DuPage County's health care facility. They come out of Malcolm X," Emanuel said."

Yeah...35,000 postal employees losing their jobs NOW and Rahm prediction what MAY HAPPEN in 8 years.

I don't see health care workers getting hired. I see healthcare workers getting laid off due to medicare/medicaid cuts. Who's he kidding? This is as bad as the welding jobs myth.

...and with gas prices rapidly approaching the $4.00/gal threshold in Chicago today you have to wonder if we will hit $5.00 by May 1.

In 2008 the national avg gas price hit $4.12/gal and the economy started shutting down.

Of course the Chicago gas prices were well above the average.

The reason I mention it is that -- how many of those new jobs are the Chrysler plant and the Ford Plant do you think will still be working when no-one can afford the gas? As the airline ticket prices soar to cover fuel cost how many of those Boeing airplane orders going to get cancelled?

Yet Ceasefire is on the job!

Their careful method of treatment is rather straightforward. Anytime anyone reports a fight, their volunteers race to the scene and jump in the fray, facing everyone, eye to eye. -" We measure success not by the number of homicides, but by all of the homicides that do not happen."

Ceasefire, when homicdes happen, we'll be there with a camera crew.

I just simply don't believe it! Define violent crime. There is no such thing as violent crime in Chicago. Sure people fall on knifes, bullets, broken bottles, but accidents happen, not crimes. This is a good city, a wholesome city. To say that crime happens is to take things out of context; it is to focus on the negative and overlook the positive.

With best wishes to you for less accidents, I am sincerely yours,

Rahm Emmanuel

at one time many of these neighbor hoods were quiet, safe, pleasant. what could have caused this radical change? i have a hunch, it could be global warming. or it could be the annual hour change, that can be upsetting for some. the question is why cant these residents get along.
