Life in Prison
Eighteen years before he gunned down Ofc. Nathaniel Taylor Jr. on Sept. 28, 2008, Lamar Cooper fired shots at another on-duty Chicago police officer.
Ofc. Ronald Simmons described Tuesday how Cooper turned and shot at him three times in July 1990, and how he never had time to fire back at Cooper in the alley on Chicago’s South Side.
And then Cook County Judge Nicholas Ford sentenced Cooper, 40, to life in prison for killing Taylor, saying, “I hope you live a long, long life behind bars so you can remember what you did for the rest of your life.”
Always remember Nathaniel Taylor and keep his family in your prayers.

I love Nick Ford. Always was one of my favorite 26th St. narcotics court "Altar Boys".
I've normally been in the habit of voting "no" for the retention of most judges. Judge Nicholas Ford deserves a lifetime appointment to the bench of his choice. Thank you for not being afraid to speak the truth!
British tourists or "crackers"
Something said in US court not reported here in the US even on Fox news but the UK news will report it?

REMEMBER! It was Gov. Quinn’s actions that we could not give this POS a more appropriate sentence. Vote Republican, until they screw up.
Support those whom support us! Peace to my bluecoat brothers!
He's a young guy, he will very likely live a "long, long time" behind bars as the judge wishes - to the tune of costing the taxpayers 40-50K a year to support the animal with free food, housing, and health care. If he lives 40 years in lockup, that will mean he costs us - the taxpayers - at least 2 million dollars, for fucking nothing. What a system.
We need the death penalty back.
Good news, for a change!
Life in, is too easy...
Killer got what he deserved, hope he gets hell in prison!
Knew Nick Ford for over 20 years ever since he was an ASA in Narc Court. Always a good guy. Top notch Judge. We need more people on the bench like him..Not only for the Police, but the good citizens..
Nick Ford is solid.
Where are all of the people who said Judge Ford was horrible during the trial? Oh, maybe they figured out they had no idea what they were talking about! Nice job, Judge!
Don't want to repeat it so it becomes cliche, but Nick Ford is the best thing since sliced bread and we are very lucky to have him. He is a true Gentleman and when he goes there will be no other.
From interrupted meals (Pompei), and late calls from the boys all over the city. rarely, if ever, do we hear "not tonight guys, I'm kinda busy" even when you probably are.
Thanks Judge, we truly do appreciate everything you do. We couldn't do what we do, without judges like you. (and there are very few left out there.)
And finally, thank your wife and family from us, for sharing you with us.
God bless Ron Simmons also. Another copper that almost joined his brothers above. Thank you Jesus.
