Red Zone Details
- The streets around the city's downtown federal buildings will see a noticeable increase in security — including officers in battle dress — as early as next week as the city prepares for the May 20-21 NATO summit.
The Federal Protective Service, which secures federal buildings, this week informed tenants of the city's federal buildings that they would have personnel patrolling the streets as early as next week.
The officers were expected to be in battle dress and carrying non-lethal weapons, according to several sources who were not authorized to speak publicly.
Rumors also abound about an immigration march the first week of May, the regular communist rabble around May Day, and spontaneous wildcat parades on tap all month.
The Chicago Police Department also released a statement:
- "The security perimeter and overall event plan are under the auspices of the United States Secret Service, with support from a variety of federal, state and local partners, including the Chicago Police Department," the statement said. "Federal Protective Services does not have a direct security role during the NATO summit. Federal Protective Services is in charge of securing their buildings, some of which are on or nearby the anticipated routes of permitted events such as parades and protests that will take place during the summit."
We imagine that part of the action will be on game day.

We had a big boss from HQ talk at roll call yesterday to let us now that contrary to what we read here on the blog they really are prepared for this NATO fiasco.
It seems the poor guy has been drinking too much of the kool aid at HQ because he was spewing all sorts of bullshit and mistruths. He said we're CPD we handle large crowds all the time taste of Chicago etc.... These fuckers just don't get it. Comparing a crowd at taste of Chicago to the crowds that will be protesting NATO is like comparing boy scouts to Hanibal Lecter.
I left roll call after being inundated with the HQ bullshit and I found myself humming "Don't Worry Be Happy"!!
The boss from HQ said they've determined that a soft look is a psychological advantage over the protestors. Really??
When asked about the ridiculousness of wearing the crown cap as opposed to the baseball cap he said he agreed the baseball cap would be a much better idea than the crown cap but McNutty had chosen the crown cap and there's no changing his mind. Sounds like McNutty operates much like Rahm it's his way or the highway and he's got no time for anyone else's logical ideas.

In protest to the crown caps, I say we go withe the shower caps and everybody bring their luffas just in case we take a bath.
Using the crown cap provides an opportunity for demonstrators to obtain "trophy" hats! In addition officers will be taking suspensions and having to change their star numbers because the hat shield will have their star number on it. If they take the baseball cap as a trophy it costs a lot less. But what do I know, I just had 32 yrs. on the Job!
Are the "powers" that think they are in Chicago still paranoid about 1968 when it comes to dress for the NATO summit? Geez.

And when this disaster is over it will be this press release 9.5 will use to appear blameless to the citizens of this city. He will absolve himself from ANY liability for injury, damage or death and try to sell the idea that the city and the police department acted ONLY as support service to the secret service. I hope the federal authorities step up and issue a preemptive press release of their own placing the blame squarely on Rahm. Think I'm wrong?

Who's going to be patroling my neighborhood while all the police are going to be downtown for weeks in May?
I am fully prepared for a few hundred or so coppers to copy & paste this post and or follow it up with a big “no shit”. But just in case, I wanted to put this out there. PLEASE; let’s watch what we place within this blog regarding any “CPD plans” for dealing with NATO. As coppers are briefed within the next few weeks, on “blending in with crowds” or anything else along those lines, let’s keep it off here. I don’t even want to type some things that should stay off here. We all know there are useless, sackless, bottom feeding protesters reading this blog and learning from it. PLEASE use discretion. Even if CPD did somehow get an ounce of its shit together before this starts, let’s keep it off here. If they think they will have it easy, keep it that way. We all say “know your enemy”. Don’t let them get to know the CPD until the CPD is in there face or preferably has them in cuffs. That is all. You may commence typing “no shit”.

Throw the crown cap away and wear the helmet. It will be so fucked up no one will give a shit. Then after, "find" the crown cap again.
The non-lethal weapons can be used on the gangbanging shitheads at Chicago and State for practice.
Before posting this info you may want to try and verify this info for yourself. I learned today from a very credible source that a major concern for the federal agencies involved with the NATO security are suicide bombers. Apparently there are no security check points at this event. I am not trying to be an alarmist nor am I trying to stir fear for the people of Chicago. I just believe that the police who are going to be working this fiasco deserve to be kept up to speed with the concerns of the Feds.
I'm giving the Feds a thumbs up. They're at least showing some balls and letting the public know they aren't going to let Joe Citizen (protester) destroy their property.

I would wear a helmet but I was told the city is out of them. I was then asked if I was on the list. I had to sign my name, district and phone number and HQ will call me when the helmet comes in to pick it up. O.K.

They know our plans, we know there plans. Did you watch braveheart? Well it's kind of like that only with bottles of shit instead of arrows, and batons instead of swords. If what you say is true, and let's "pretend" that some officers will be among the protesters. Those officers just signed up for purification through pain. Don't forget to throw down all cameras you come close to. How many can there be? Well that's just a joke, or is it? We will never reveal our plans until we suprise them during the protest which has been set on a "certain date" at a "certain time" for "some cause".
No po ever took a day for losing his hat while fighting with an offender and no po will ever take a day for losing his hat while fighting or chasing a protester.
