But, but, but SCC, that lady on the NATO committee said that we didn't see that stuff on the news..things like a barricade being tossed at police. What's her name again? Healy?

Told ya. These people are so out of touch it's ridiculous.

It's nice to see the State Troopers coming up behind the CPD as backup. Oh man, the black bloc got their ass kicked. Other departments need to study how this protest was handled.

That's the best video I've seen so far. Probably because of the PD audio.

Even if the idiots got past the CPD line the State Police would have kicked their asses. The Black Bloc should thank the CPD for protecting them from those cornfed downstate professionals.

This should help put to rest the idea the black bloc assholes and their apologists are trying to sell that the CPD started the "battle".

By not overreacting the CPD kicked their asses. Three complaints of police brutality filed and one was for rudeness?

I do have a fantasy though that CPD was able to separate the black bloc idiots from the larger peaceful crowd and then let the BB'ers march on McCormick Place uninhibited.

Between all the various feds around and their equipment I think the black bloc would have been the no longer breathing bloc very quickly. What we know as Custer's Last Stand was called the Battle of the Greasy Grass by the plains indians.

If the BB'ers got past the police lines at McCormick Place another battle of the greasy grass would have occurred. At least at the Little Big Horn a horse survived. I don't think the snotrag covering faced idiots would have been so lucky.

13th and Michigan :

This is where the the 'Black Bloc' assholes broke and starting attacking the police on the
west side of the street by the Jimmy John's store.

Our sergeant was screaming for help for the arrest teams (the coppers in black that would be there in "seconds" )

NO ONE CAME!!!

There was NO DISPATCHER who would acknowledge the radio and NO ONE other than the officers in the
'Line of March' handled the bastards ! ! ! !

They had the right people on the air for this. If you think for a second those were dispatchers, your nuts. Those were coppers. I was there and thank you. Yes, we all knew we were on tv, but we needed the reminders to keep our emotions in check. Why do you think the Black Bloc doesn't come at the police like this at night when the cameras aren't there?? There aren't enough ambulances in the city and surrounding counties to carry their asses off.

My hats go out to all agencies who came out and were out there in support. This City owes many agencies from other departments a big thanks cause many of us had to stay behind to make sure the hoods didn't find an opportunity to cause mayham in the communities. I'm so proud of everyone who made this happen and many thanks to all. Speedy recovery to all injured officers!!! Once again thank you all!!!!

For once Goudie doesn't come off like an idiot.

Great work everyone.

We deserve our raises, pensions, promotions, new hires, equipment upgrades and traditional command structure.

Never again do I want to hear an exempt or a politician say, "We have to do more with less." or "We will run the Chicago Police Department like a business."

Stay Safe. Like the bumper sticker says, "We don't care how they do it in New York."

I loved watching this, SCC. Gives me chills still, long after watching it. Any time I can wish a good day to and say thanks to one of our CPD Officers here in the Windy, I will. Thanks to you all, and God bless you all! :)

I am posting this to make people aware of this no good low life who fronted off my partner and me in front of the protesters as we video taped them in front of Prudential Plaza. First of all I would like to thank my Brothers and Sisters in Blue who came to our aid, backing us up getting us out of a very hostile situation caused by this inept reporter for Channel 2.

Follow the link below to see his picture.

This guy calls himself a reporter, but is no more than a liberal activist for doing what he did or is as dumb as a box of rocks. His name is Mike Puccinelli and works for CBS Channel 2 News.

The short of it:
My partner and I were assigned as ET's, to video Tape the "Police Perspective" of the NATO Demonstrations. We had no special riot gear on other than our body armor and gun belts. As we were working the crowd at Prudential Plaza, looking for those wearing mask's, we stopped to film some masked protesters when Pucinelli approached us with his camera man, inciting the crowd which started to grow in size. He kept asking me, by my name and star number why I was filming these people on the public way. Inciting the crowds even more as he asks "Are you under orders from Mayor Emanuel or Superintendent McCarthy to film these people. What gives you the right to film these people." The whole time the crowd swelled, becoming more and more vocal and hostile towards us. Officers had to break rank from the curb line to come to our aid. My partner sensed the danger and started pulling me out backwards by my vest while I continued filming the hostilities. Pucinelli didn't like it either when I turned the camera on him showing the look on his face and in his eyes, as I think he knew he screwed the pooch on this one. He could not stand it that we did not respond to his nonsensical questioning devised to do only one thing. Yes, he knew exactly what he was doing, and that was to incite the angry crowd, and hopefully, at our cost and risk to great bodily harm, they would do something stupid so he could record his BIG CAREER MAKING NEWS STORY and his 2 minute claim to fame. THIS NO GOOD SOB PUT TWO POLICE OFFICERS LIVES IN DANGER, JUST TO RILE THE CROWD FOR HIS OWN PERSONAL GAIN!!!

Mike Pucinelli, a real credit to Channel 2 News. I would like to ask all of my Brothers and Sisters in Blue to familiarize your self with the photo of him linked below and if you see him on the street, extend to him all the professional police service he deserves and tell him the two ET's he fronted off in front of Prudential Plaza would like to buy him a beer and have a little talk. You know, MAN to man.........

I will be filing a complaint through the Media Affairs Office. If the results are not satisfactory, I will hire my own attorney and take care of business myself.

Go into a District and have a Reckless Conduct case report done naming Pucinelli as the offender and include the fact there is videotaped evidence available. Then go your Misd court branch and get a summons for him to appear. I doubt they will issue a warrant until he doesn't appear on the summons. Once in court, sign the complaint and have him criminally charged. THEN you can move forward with the lawsuit. I STRONGLY recommend this. We should be doing this regularly when anyone from the Media puts us in jeopardy, like showing the home address of an off duty copper involved in a shooting like they did in 008 two years ago. I have contacted News Affairs and they asked only that they get notified when we do it. I said I would notify them AFTER the arrest. DO IT! You are a victim of their/his reckless and dangerous conduct.

Thanks for the info.

News 'reporters' are supposed to understand THEY are NOT the story.

Unfortunately, there are very few reporters left. Now, we have news "personalities' who are only in it for their personal fifteen minutes of fame.

CBS-Channel 2 News in Chicago is the broadcast version of the New York Post. Sleazy, sensationalist and staffed by low-rent losers. Puccinelli is a prime example of the douchebags they hire. Rob Johnson's picture is next to the word "smarmy" in the dictionary, while that bimbo Kate Sullivan will never appear intelligent no matter which pair of eyeglasses she chooses to wear.
Please use all legal resources available to you.

The worst reporter in town (in terms of his anti-cpd mentality) is that clown Tom Negovan with WGN. He was encouraging the protesters in a few instances.
