NATO Numbers

They go up. They go down. Sideways is next. And no two sets seem to match:
  • Policing the NATO summit last month racked up about $15 million in overtime for Chicago Police officers, Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration said Friday as it released documents seeking reimbursement for the costs from the federal government and the summit host committee.

The city sent letters dated June 29 to multiple government agencies asking for the release of funds earmarked for the city’s NATO costs. That includes $7.5 million designated by Congress when the NATO summit received National Special Security Event status, as well as another nearly $4 million in federal grant funds.
This will go on for years, and Rahm will nickel and dime everyone to death.

Where is Lori Healey and her big mouth?

She said the city would make $126,000,000 on the NATO summit.

Lyin' bitch.

Put her in charge of the next big deal. Yeah right.

oh of course we will never ever really know the amount because 9.5 and his crew don't know ethier
just look at the overtime alone
knuckleheads should have known after 8 it's overtime
this b/s 6th and 7th day
if you go non stop with out a break it's overtime
just look at the il and federal labor laws
i think though not sure
most rank and file worked at stright 6days if not longer with no day off in between that too would be overtime
i believe it ot after 8 not after 40

But Rahm told us all that NATO wasn't going to cost the taxpayer a dime.

That NATO would all be funded by private donations.

So why is Rahm going to the Federal government for money? The Federal government gets it's money from the taxpayers and NATO is not suppose to cost us a dime.

Speaking of numbers.

I wouldn't work one day beyond a contract expiration date with the way this city/state/nation budget is.

You certainly cannot look forward to dragging out negotiations for years and then expect retroactive raises like in the past WHEN THE CITY IS GOING BANKRUPT.

Stop being the Ponzi's. Look what happened to the pension funds, the healthcare costs. What does that signed contract mean?

Who will pay the debt Rahm will leave us when he is gone? Rahm sees himself as a major player on the world stage. Mayors outside of New York are seldom world celebs. Rahm will be moving on after one, at most two terms. The chaos and debt that he leaves behind will last for generations just as has been the case with Shortshanks! Never forget, our great grandchildren will be paying parking fees to Dubai because of the deal Daley cut.

So how much money was actually made by businesses and the city for hosting this???

What are the tourism numbers?

How many NEW foreign businesses are setting up shop in this world class city ?

How's our contract coming along for doing such a great job protecting the city from the a**holes?

Chirp Chirp.
