Suspend It All!

Crime will be documented, but it will not be solved:
  • The Ivory Tower had decreed that Detectives will have a report on all handouts within 5 days!!
OK let see how fast you can say suspend.
Thw word is that in NYC all cases are suspended and only the victims who demand follow up get some

Tie this into the upcoming list of jobs we won't even be responding to and we foresee a tremendous drop off in crime numbers. We also see a massive drop in the Clearance rates, though "massive" is a relative term if you look at the actual numbers right now.

"GUN TURN-IN"

Destroy all the guns. NO forensic work done this time. This will be the first time that forensics are not getting involved with the work up of the gun turn in.

We are still looking for the guns that killed Oficer Michael Bailey, Officer Jose Vazquez and Det. Robert Soto.

If found. The gun desk can trace the guns to possible suspects who purchased the guns. Or all types of possibles. Victims might have possible leads. Names on who might of burglarized the apartments and took the guns. Officers murdered. Mc Jersey is sure coming up with more new strategies. Leave the dead crimes dead. How about solving homicides. Maybe the guns come back to our suspects and now we can get charges approved.

The no questions asked were just for the turn in. NOT for other crimes connected with these guns.

My SGT said, they don't want to give us any possible leads or forensic help. What about the new gun unit starting up. What will they do. If we don't get witness or video. Forget it. Sad. I just hope its not true.

Do you recall the opening scene in the movie,

The first line, by the outraged father, an undertaker by trade is, "I believe in America."

One of the reasons that movie was so popular was and still is the idea of a form of real justice when the legitimate form is either undermanned or corrupted.

Off Topic…

Here is a thought, be ready for what might come if George Zimmerman is acquitted. The South and West Sides might react like L.A. did after those cops were acquitted in the Rodney King resisted arrest so he got his ass beat case.

Lets face the truth : most property crimes haves been suspended with little or no work for at least 40 years, and I can go back that far in the detectives. There is pressure to clear homicides and armed robberies and little else. If your wallet is taken and someone uses your credit cards you get a letter and the case is closed. Try to get the detectives to take a case, even if you can identify the person using your credit card and they will not. Try that in the suburbs, or most suburbs, and that person will be arrested.

it is a great idea ... most burglaries have no witnesses and aren't going to be solved anyway ... period. If there is something to go on on a burgary, I personally enthusiastically follow-up - it is a good deal putting a burglar in jail. But, truth be told ... most are just "came home ... saw my door kicked in." Burglaries are tough, but as they say - it is what it is. It would be a real timesaver to not have to waste time following up on dead enders. Much rather spend my time on something that results in court time anyhow. So, I agree, NYPD does it right on this one.
