New York Shooting
Checking out the national news tonight, everybody led with the shooting outside the Empire State Building where a disgruntled (and fired) white guy shot and killed a co-worker before being killed himself. Nine bystanders were wounded by stray bullets, some probably from the police.
No one seemed to cover Chicago where 19 people of color were wounded by bullets in under 12 hours and the totals for the week look like something out of a Wes Craven horror flick.
You know what that means, right?

Well ya gotta admit Ms Obama did run up to those temple shootings in Wisconsin to " be with the families" while the media's byline told the story of a white supremest hater doing the evil deed.
In her own hood we have over 350 homicides for the year as of tonight.
There's no visit with ANY of the families here. Granted many of them are gang bangers however there's a lot of innocent bystanders lumped in there too. Too busy counting her husbands "campaign contribution" money I'll bet. Just like Rahm. Gotta get ready for that big meeting and get some more money. Back in NY, the AP is now reporting THAT ALL the bystanders that were shot were shot by the NYPD. Sad day for you Mr Bloomberg. 16 rounds were said to be fired by the NYPD and we know where at least 8 of them landed right? How many hit the target?
Maybe Chicago should chip-in and pick up some of those Tactical Weapons Training Groupon Coupons that include range time and send them east...I'm just sayin' before the media says it that's all.

The Trib has a story about a 15 yr. old girl, who was accidently shot by a same age relative who was high while packaging drugs. The family fled with the drugs and surrendered the boy later.

I left Chicago for Wisconsin Friday morning at 8 am. About 10am my buddy, who lives in northern Wisconsin calls me asking about the 8 shot and the total of 19 shot Thursday night. He told me it's all over the news up there. Before I left, I watched channel 9, 5, fox and cltv and each channel ran a quick mention of all the violence after CPS strike report, after cardinal George cancer, after st Louis homicide, and a hurrican that hasn't even hit US shores yet. When I got to my uncles (in Wisconsin), he asked about all the shootings. He read about "Terror Town" on-line from a newspaper's front page news out of Ireland!!! Chicago violence has been the topic of european news for well over 4 months. But here, it's just a blip. Keep paying taxs. Keep sending your childern to CPS so they can become victims of violence, sexual assaults and no hope for the future. Keep turning a blind eye to all the perks of being an illegal in sanctuary city. To all you narrow mind liberal democrats, look what your social experiment has become.

None of them people were shot.. since both NYC AND CHICAGO have a ban on guns it's NOT possible to have a shooting.. BTW it was the guy's ex boss whom he shot.. Just work place violence like the Fort Hood Shooter.. nothing to report..

It is certainly no innocent person's fault that they found themselves suddenly in the middle of a terrifying gun battle between a murderer and the police.
That said, the ONE thing that EVERYONE could very easily do is --
DON'T STAND THERE TAKING SMARTPHONE VIDEOS.
If possible -- some people were just stuck on a bus, in a car with this blowing up right next to them -- if you can, seek cover, throw yourself down, get away.

Don't want to hurt "convention and restaurant business" here if you can help it. Keep it light, gallery openings and new restaurant previews, exercise machines and "environmentally responsible cosmetics."

WBBM radio now ran and interviewed some standard "violence as a public health problem" doctor. "People have to understand that there is not just some chemical spray that will make this go away."

I was rather shocked to see those newspaper receptacles when moving to Chicago. My larger dog always used to lift his leg on them. They're blue, right? There could be a Trib and/or Redeye display right next to The Race but he would always lift his leg on the blue one. Sometimes he'd even lead me over to them.
