A review of Associate Judge Donnelly shows he should have recused himself solely because he belongs to the Lawyer's Guild which is the legal arm of the US Communist Party and acted as "observers" during the NATO protests.
He is due for some criticism from higher courts.

Even if it means closing more schools, mental health centers, firing teachers and health care workers, shutting down fire and police district offices.

Judge Thomas More Donnelly is a member of the Catholic Lawyers' Guild with is, most definitively, not the legal arm of the US Communist Party.
BTW, Judge Donnelly has an excellent reputation as a fair jurist who calls them as he sees them. His written opinion clearly states the basis of his opinion and it will be subject to review if, and when, the City appeals. In the meantime, I think it's a stretch to think that whatever actions the police officers took that night in arresting the protesters rises exposes them to punitive damages.
As for the allocation of $55 Million dollars for a park in Mrs. Daley's honor, I would speculate that even she would think it would be a waste of money. There's no reason not to change the name of one of the parks already in existence in order to honor her memory. Times are tough and extravagant expenditures must be curtailed. That money should be used for first responders who protect our children, either to replenish the pension funds or to hire more officers.
The Shity is going to Twitter for help against guns. I've them hell.

A South Side pastor calling for an end to youth violence is marching through neighborhood streets.
Bishop Larry Trotter is he senior pastor at Sweet Holy Spirit Church on Chicago's South Side. Nearly 200 people joined him Sunday afternoon.
He says he's holding the rally to end violence gripping his community.
The marchers wore red clothing to symbolize the bloodshed, sang hymns and prayed at several street corners.
The march follows the death of 17-year-old Derrick Davis. He was fatally shot Friday just a block from where he lived in Chicago.

We're looking at a massive violation of the social contract and public trust -- all those contributions that people made to either plan over the years will be demonized as "entitlements" that must be cut. Must be cut so the elite can do things like build a $55 million dollar memorial park for a clouted one and give another tax break to a CEO.
We paid into them and promises were made on paper with signatures on them and so-called laws to protect them. Watch how it all goes *poof* because the written words don't mean what you thought they did. Just like the lil' city ordinances. If the laws can be indiscriminately applied for that stuff why shouldn't we use the same discrimination for things like social security, health care and pensions laws.
Hell yeah, let the mayor use his discretion on who will get the benefits that were promised and who doesn't.

Why should we believe anything that comes out of these politicians mouths anyway when they have the gall to sit there with a straight face and tell the taxpayers that city parks need to be closed from 11 pm to 6 am because the park district is doing their maintenance to them during those hours and they are doing garbage collection and stuff.
I've talked to people that have lived here in this city for over sixty years and they have NEVER seen a park district employee working inside a park between those hours.
The only thing that they can recall being done in the middle of the night was the tearing up of runways at Meigs field so that we can make it a Daley park today. Was that the park district, streets and sans or some outside clouted contractor I don't even know.
We can understand the safety aspect but tell the truth and don't make stuff up. If you're lying about city ordinances what the hell else are you making up to fit your agenda?

If the street corner drug trade was shut down completely this city would fold in bankruptcy within a few months. There's a huge amount of illicit money attracted here by the drugs, that unlike the corporate profits, trickles into the legit economy.
Shut that drug trade down completely and thousands of people making money AND supporting legitimate businesses is gone overnight. So not only will you put the drug dealers out of business you'll hurt a lot of legitimate businesses too.
They let it get this far out of hand by playing the Sanctuary City and have painted themselves into a corner.
Who's gonna hire the drug dealer anyway and if they did he was churning a few grand a day? Look at the lost to the economy that's what the politicians are looking at. The lost money.
Wanna trade an illicit job bringing hundreds of thousands of dollars in drug money to Chicago's economy with a min-wage job instead. How's Chicago gonna show economic growth like that?

Funny how they all have take home cars on SWAT but never show up.
