Nice Catch

Someone pointed out this in the "New 9-1-1 Policy" article:
  • This March, there were 100,000 more calls than last March.
Even discounting a third of the calls to dupes and bullshit, that's a sizable increase.

And this?
  • Also during Thursday’s hearing, aldermen hammered Schenkel about the perennial problem of 911 center overtime and about a dramatic increase in overtime spending — from $5.6 million last year to more than $7 million this year.
But crime is down? Is anyone in the media smelling the crap they're helping Rahm and Garry shovel?

I think the mayor and the top cop should take 9-1-1 calls and help out.

They each have two ears so they should be given two phones, one phone for each side.

This may seem odd and a bit difficult at first and for a normal person it would be. But when you've been gifted with the ability to talk out of both sides of your mouth at the same time it should be no problem at all.

This talent should be put to use.

$1.4 million in OT.

Guess we'll just have to skip another pension payment to pay for it because you're not getting your hands on that $55 million Maggie Daley park money. That money is separate.

Don't worry though. "As the economy continues on it's path of recovery..." Bwahahahaha. The pension will earn it's money and make up for the skipped payments. It's all good. It's cool.

In other news the Dow Jones closed down over 200 points today...

Motorola Mobility has caused Google to reduce it's head count for the first time ever and Groupon stock is once again below $5/share fastly approaching a new 52 week low after losing 85% of it's value in one year.

Someone asked the question today "who has all those toxic assets that the banks had a few months ago and why are they not showing up on the books yet.." ..think about it.

When Rahm starts spewing that there is no money for public pensions maybe the FOP ought to point out that there are jobs for Madigam friends that pay 35,000 plus medical for working 1 day a month. Does John Bills come to mind? How many more jobs like the John Bills appointment are outh there Madigan? Rahms more concerned that he got caught with a lavish free hotel room. Nice spin Rahm tell us about the job!

Diddling with perceptions, illusions and numbers manipulations are trademark Democrat ploys.
There's a reason Chicago Democrats are in the White House. The most CORRUPT State in the Union is the training ground. (Another reason to vote for Romney, shut down Madigan's Illinois & Rahm is done)
Rahm & his extensive army of public relations staffers create the news that the media feeds on.
With all the bull that coming out of the White House concerning Benghazi, it's no wonder were it comes from. The City takes the same approach. The City is reducing manpower just like the State Department.
Until a major tragedy strikes here in Chicago will someone challenge the Mayor on how and why he allowed it to happen. Obviously, The Aldermen don't think the day to day crime stuff matters much. They're concerns range from chicken restaurants to block party permits to security fees.
The (Mayor & Superintendent) denials of reality are going to get one of us seriously hurt or killed.

Soon as the new policy is in, crime will go down. A lot of people are not going to report crime over the phone or drive to a station. Just think of how many times an officer talks his way out of doing a report and multiply that by fustrated citizens who will not make a report over the phone and crime will dramatically go down. Then we have jobs stacked that only a beat car will respond too, probably stacked for hours, and you again kill crime because people are not going to wait for hours for the police. All crime except murders, they cannot hide those.
In our district, one of the biggest jokes is responding to alarms. The city counsel will never charge citizens for false alarms but what if we charged the alarm company. Every time an alarm company calls in they will have a number that we can record and then a ANOV is written for all false alarms. The alarm company then will be the bad guy because they will pass the cost to the people or they will hire their own security to check on alarms. Ramn could make a fortune and we could stop responding to BS alarm calls.
Stay Safe, KLW

Punish those law-abiding citizens for snitching on people by writing park-ers.

If they don't get the message have their cars towed.

From the FCC site, "Since 1985, the Lifeline program has provided a discount on phone service for qualifying low-income consumers to ensure that all Americans have the opportunities and security that phone service brings, including being able to connect to jobs, family and emergency services. In 2005, Lifeline discounts were made available to qualifying low-income consumers on pre-paid wireless service plans in addition to traditional landline service"

In 1985, the President was Ronald Reagan.

The Gold Plan for Our Pension Fund

In order to protect half of our assets, my plan is to put half of our three billion dollar fund into physical gold.

There are many reasons to do this as soon as possible:

Keep city politicians off it (and spending it on their pet projects).

Protect half of our funds from losses due to global financial instabilities from the Euro Zone.

Possible war between Iran and Israel.

Losses due to the Fed wasteful printing of money to keep interest rates low and the financial collapse of the dollar when we’re unable to keep up that rate of printing.

All these factors and more will cause the dollar to turn into dust and take with it most other cash based tools (stocks and bonds).

We must take action now! This can not wait! If you have any feeling for the turmoil that is coming, you must take action now and vote for me in order to get the ball rolling on the pension board.

Talk with your friends about the financial mess that is looming in the very near future. Whether it’s the city, county, state or world; we have a lot to be concerned about. However we must act now! Are any other candidates talking about this? Do they have a plan? If so, what is it? Have they told you what they plan on doing? My opponents are small thinkers. You can trust them with your cash, but not your future. You need to vote and vote for me. Your future depends on what you (we) do today. Send in your ballot. Vote Jans!

Kevin,

How do we send out pension checks from a pile of physical gold? Do retirees get their pension checks in a packet of gold dust? And how do I get my gold direct deposited in my bank account? How do I pay the mortgage and buy groceries with my pension fund gold?

And you want to be the rep for my pension fund? Kevin, I've heard you come up with some goofy shit over the years but this takes the cake.

There is no way I can vote for you for pension board rep and no one else should vote for you either. The pension fund is spending $250 million a year on benefits. Convert the cash into gold. That's a good one.

If this program get instituted quickly, watch McNut in the early months, when all crime categories take a header, to claim how his brilliant initiatives are actually working. Now he just has to find a way to "hide" the bodies of homicide victims.

If you lose the attitude, make it to retirement without losing your life or your job, maybe you'll 'get it'.
To most of us, this wasn't just a job; it meant something far more than that. Our friends still work beside you and we care about them, too. We care about the City, God help us. And we care what is happening to our retirement benefits.
So, one day, when you grow up, you might 'understand' why we're still invested in what's going on. Until then, we really don't care whether you 'understand' us, or not.

Wrong.

It's ability to suck a BOWLING ball through a straw.

Get your facts straight, huh?

I am deeply concerned that Triple J gets free Prozac and Xanax (not to mention electroshock therapy at Mayo Clinic). I maintain that all CPD squad rooms have free Prozac and Xanax dispensers. We must maintain our sanity despite the politically corrupt cocksuckers that run this town.

10/20/2012 09:32:00 PM

Just like the hand sanitizer dispensers that have never been filled?

"Speaking of McDingbat, I haven't seen his ugly, bloated face in awhile. Where's Rahm been hiding him?"

10/20/2012 07:31:00 AM

Dunno, went by the TV and it was Rahm and Wysinger rolling out The New Strategy.

7 got Weis. Which TV station will hire McCarthy?

Any day now...

"Although with all the overtime I'm working I'm rarely home to see the news."

News. 6:30 AM, Willis was found "unresponsive," everyone else in the crowd in the hallway suffered "non-life-threatening" bullet wounds to the buttocks, the "would-be robbers" excaped, witnesses told police to figure it out for them self.

It's OK because this was/was not a random incident.

Weather -- we are going to have four or five days of 70 or above! It's not that crime goes down when it's cold or wet anymore, it just goes up when it's warmer.

Thanks for the update!

I still don't understand why retired people belong to the FOP. You are retired give it up already and enjoy retirement. I won't even mention about them reading this blog.

10/21/2012 02:54:00 AM

Because the FOP still deals with legislation regarding retiree benefits, that's why.

Who do you think defends retirees when the legislature dreams up the next pensionfuck that's aimed squarely at retirees?

It's been 4 months since our contract expired. Any word when we'll be getting our retro checks?

10/20/2012 10:58:00 AM

Dude, grow the fuck up already. Emanuel's already done the budget for next year and he's already including a 2% raise. 2% is about the standard going rate during this economy and bitching how you deserve more makes you look like a fucktard if you're gonna start bitching.

If the economy stays on track and keeps coming back we'll get better raises in the next contract. Until then, quit posting like a greedy fuck who thinks he deserves a big retro check regardless of how shitty the economy still is.

For that matter, only a true shitstick actually believes they have some right to fight for raises larger than around 2% a year.

YES, the COL has gone up, but that doesn't mean an automatic pay bump to whatever that amount was, we're not fully recovered yet and have no right to demand our regular raise amounts that we used to get in the GOOD days of the economy.

2% a year can be had without argument and without making us look like greedy fucks.

And no, you ain't gonna get the support of the public to give us more just because things cost more. The public likely didn't see an automatic 2% raise either, so they're not gonna support us getting a ton more over that, regardless of how much more dangerous this job has become thanks to fucktards like Emanuel.

So, how does this phone program get attributed to Obama?

You obviously haven't seen that woman on YouTube proclaiming she's voting for Obama because he "bought her a phone!"

He's the President. It's now his program.

Eddie Aruza stated that Tammy Duckworth was beholding to Mike Madigan. Duckworth did not refute the statement. Even though she is a war hero, her ties to Madigan, Quinn and Durbin make her unworthy of elected office.

Agreed! Her ties to dirty Chicago democrats make her non-viable. If you lie with pigs, you're going to get dirty.

The new 911 strategy will eventually mean a reduction in crime.
1st we stop going to the B.S. calls about their kids not listening

2nd we stop going to simple theft/battery calls. Call 311 here's your report.

3rd we stop going to burglary calls.
call 311, no ET comes out to process the scene, no Det follow up.

Eventually people stop calling because realize that nothing will happen and they won't get their stuff back.

People don't call= crime down= less police= Rahm's a hero

Dear Anonymous,

You wrote:

My reply:

In keeping with a short goal of getting some information out I did not go into great detail of my "Gold Plan". However in the first sentence, I put the goal of 50% of the fund. I know we need liquid assists to pay out monthly checks. I also know that getting the 50% will take time, but we need to start asap.
