Happy Thanksgiving to you SCC! I'm thankful for the last seven years of great writing and reporting here on your blog. :) Looking forward to the next seven!
Happy Thanksgiving to you SCC and all of Chicago's Finest CPD Officers. To those of you working today, thank you for your sacrifice to protect the citizens of our city on the holiday.
So what exactly is going on in area 1? Other than most everyone leaving early what else is brewing?
rumor has it that rahmbo is shunning turkey this year and will be feasting on a capon---

Pensions
From Greg Hinz Turkey Awards at Crain's :
"Then there's the CBOE's Bill Brodsky. He gave a wonderful speech about how he was "embarrassed to live" in a state that wouldn't reform its underfunded worker pension plans — shortly after accepting $6 million in income-tax breaks that the CBOE didn't need but was able to grab as part of a larger deal helping CME Group, which didn't really need the cash either."
Be careful. Area 1 det being watched for ghost payrolling. They are targeting today for those who work especially short holidays. They are watching our personal vehicles.
Greed
According to Wed Wall Street Journal the government had to step in and challenge 1.8 million dollars in bonuses proposed for senior managers under a liquidation plan Hostess submitted.
Just another example of the CEO crowd behavior toward the workers.
While waiting outside the Pearly Gates, a New York, Chicago and Los Angeles Police Officers get into an argument over which Department is the best. Saint Peter butts in and tells them to be quiet. He says the next time he sees God he will ask Him. Saint Peter soon returns with a letter from God and reads it aloud:
TO: Law Enforcement Officers everywhere
FROM: God
SUBJECT: Which Department is the best
Members of the Law Enforcement Community.
I’ve been watching over all of you through the years and here’s what I think. All members of the Law Enforcement community of the United States are truly honorable, courageous, well trained and capable. Therefore, there is no one Department which is best.
God, CPD (Ret.)
Happy Thanksgiving SCC to you and yours and thanks for your forum.
In a thanksgiving tradition, prez Obama has pardoned the White House turkey.
Meanwhile, down iin Texas, 1,000 additional turkeys have been ordered executed in a largely symbolic act. Their carcasses have been left to rot at turkey farms all over as a message to misbehaving turkeys statewide.
Gobble gobble.
Happy Thanksiving to one and all. Stay safe!

The problem with the unfolding in Area 1 is the supervisors. They had a guy who played sports on medical, was going on dates with a side girl, and working 4 hour days. Now we all get impacted negatively. But the bosses do nothing, that's why this individual was allowed to work days when assigned to 3rd watch. No supervison, and I guarentee the bosses won't change his shift or supervise him any differently until he is stripped.
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. - George Orwell
What district will generate the first event number today for an aggravated battery with a turkey leg?
FOUR died...then Rice lied, Obama lied, Hillary lied, Tapper lied, Petraeus lied, Donahue lied, Carney lied, Obama lied again,..Now Tapper lied again.
Then Petraeus confessed, Obama lied and Holder lied.
Fast&Furious- DOJ lied and Holder lied.
Maybe Obama's advisor, Valerie Jarrett, the Iranian born Socialist, can clear all this up
A lot to be thankful for. A lot to pray for. Hope all that are deserving of, have a great day.
Giving thanks for a parade and little to no mention of anyone named Jackson. Good Health and Good Food with family........Good Luck
Happy Thanksgiving :) SCC! SCC! Well, I heard about a subject that concerns all officers and it should be addressed and researched. There's been times that officers go to the medical section and let them know that they are seeing a doctor and taking meds from them. Meaning, seeing a psychologist and taking meds for whatever depression and so forth. YOU ARE NOT MANDATED TO TELL THE MEDICAL SECTION OF THAT. Only if you piss hot and need to explain yourself then. for some reason people walk in there and just tell them and then they find themselves been sent to be psyched a lot than before by a captain that was put there to get rid of officers. You can't blindly walk in there and tell this people things that you are not mandated to!! and they will use against you. It is also, unethical to see another doctor of the same field, meaning this is a so suable item ticket for officers to fight back as this is miuse of resources. First one I would contact because nothing of this city is really trustable, would be the feds about the misuse of resources. The federal goverment investigates entities when they send their employees for psch evaluations and they come back to duty just fine, the feds hate to misuse a penny and more is a local entity is doing it. For all the stress and career that this man has gone after, do it for that. He is not going to stop and here are the resources. I do not even know how he has been able to get away with this for so long, he has gambling problems himself, he should be examined, IAD or not in his past. Officers have to sue and use the resources, if you do not do it, then when this man comes after you do not sit there and not know what to do. Everyone goes thru the medical section, we should know our rights. If your doctor thought that you were any danger they would call whoever they needed to and let them know and you would be removed from the street. But, not use officers personal information to turn it against them. Then you are encouraging for officers to not go even to EAP or call peer support and commit suicide. This also opens the department for liability.

Happy Thanksgiving to the boys and girls in blue and Second City Cop for 7 years of news .
Now retired, I'm trying to get used to the idea of being able to make holiday plans with my family. It's pretty good!
To everyone who has to work today, take a minute for yourself - whether it's a phone call to your mom or a personal in a park or at the lakefront, or just letting yourself have cream in your coffee, for once.
Sometimes we have to find a way to make our own joy.
Gods peace to everyone and happy thanksgiving .
Happy Gobble Gobble to SCC and representatives of our local law enforcement community :)
Happy Thanksgiving to my brothers in blue in 011 and the rest of the department as well. Enjoy and as always, BE SAFE!
Happy Thanksgiving, SCC- and to LEO's everywhere reading this blog.
We can now give thanks for being retired.

Just getting started.
The problem in Area 1 is certain people work their asses off and if you work inside filing papers you "work" for a couple hours and go home. So the workers got pissed off and the dogs have been exploited , caught on video lunching with their mistress, abusing the medical ,etc). Abbate is happy because the heat will be off him for a while.
Area 1 supervisors will have to answer how a person is on the clock assigned south and is running personal errands on the north side in his personal car.
From just a city worker:
Which bosshole just got a superintendents spot in streets and san, and in which ward?
Thanks and be safe?
How many detectives are involved in the Area 1 investigation ?
I'm off today. I know I'm lucky to spend time with my loved ones. To the men and women of CPD,CFD, and those in the military working, thank you for everything. Stay safe and God bless you.
Happy Thanksgiving to all CPD officers and their families. To those who have to work this holiday, since police stations don't just shut down for the day, be careful out there, and may God bless and protect each of you.
ECS
Be thankful and be grateful.
About 14 years ago, I was stuck working on Thanksgiving in Uptown. I drove under the L.S. Dr, viaduct at Wilson, and I was stopped by a few homeless people. The Salvation Army had given them a ham and some pies, and they stopped me to ask if I wanted to eat something. I declined, went over to the store with my partner and bought them sodas to go with their meal.
It was really AMAZING that those way less fortunate, had the desired to SHARE.
I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT, AND WILL ALWAYS BE THANKFULL FOR ALL THAT I HAVE.
Don't know what the deal is with area dects but it was real nice to see one shopping on duty at best buy and carrying a big new flat screen tv to the unmarked squad. Always amazes me to see the dumb shit grown men and women continue to do on this job despite all the bad press.
For what it's worth...
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours in the CPD from the Dept of Finances Guy on a Bike.

This isn't just area 1 it's all the area's and has been known for years. Slips are never burned there only earned.
Thanks for your service
God bless the CPD. We citizens need you. Never forget that. Be safe
Happy 19th anniversary to class 93-2. Kinda scary how many of us ended up fired or locked up. On the upside, a large percentage were legit promoted off of rank scores to both Sergeant and Lieutenant. God bless you all! I'm leaving earlier than expected, but I vow to be back within 5 years. Love me or hate me , no one can legit say I've done them wrong. My heart has ALWAYS been with the Real Police. Be safe, be strong, and protect each other. There is treachery afoot!!!!
Sgt T.F. Unit 121/543
Got something to say, please man up and say it to my face. I've got lots of free time on my hands, and not exactly in a physical position to fight.
Stay safe ! Believe it or not, no one is looking to hurt you. If you do something REALLY stupid, don't lie and make it worse. Just a suggestion. I've been around a
while. If you really f-d up , deal with it. If you made an honest mistake, please don't make it worse by lying, then having video prove you wrong!!!
God Bless. Be safe! Don't ever let the bad guys win, don't ever become or trust the bad guy!
Be strong! Much love!
If you have a problem with any personnel in Area One, man up walk up to them and tell them to their face. First of all you will get more respect than whining anonymously behind a keyboard and secondly you will feel much better seeing their face when you call them out on their bull shit.
Just wondering where the new SARGE CHARGE CARD is going to end up, maybe NARCOTICS or GANGS within the next year. Just wondering
Thanks for providing a social network for CPD. Thanks to our families for being there for us, our pets, our schools and teachers, our health.
Do you want a sense of danger? Do you want a sense of high speed white knuckle driving on a razors edge? Do you want to thrill to the near death experience of a Motogp bike rider hitting over 200mph in the straights? Don't worry my friends,
you don't need a Ducati 1198 superbike or formula one car.....
All you need to do is drive home on 90/94 through the South side of Chicago at around 11:30 p
m on thanksgiving night. I have never seen such a collection of out of control drunks driving at 100mph plus all over the fucking road in my life.
It is some surreal death race world where I can only stand here completely astonished that we dont have rolled suvs and hundreds of maimed and ejected fools scattered across the roadways of Chicago.
Visions begin to fill your mind. They start with an upside down Cadillac Escalade with 22 inch spinner rims flying off in all directions, tumbling down the shoulder he was just passing on. Now quickly! Quickly pan to a closeup of an old silver box Chevy caprice with one red door and a bumper held on with a bungie cord, filled with kids without child seats jumping another car Dukes of Hazard stlye through a fireball. Yes friends, all this will be dancing dancing behind your eyes as you pass triple digit speeds.
Now quickly, check your rear view mirror for the next 2000 pound metal missile driving half on the shoulder. You are already going 110 mph but will that be enough to avoid the "fire and forget idiot" (trademarked by me just now bitches) behind you?
No, speed up, faster, faster, must not be involved in a wreck out here or else the walking dead of the South side will slowly shuffle to the sound of carnage, looking for brains, chips, or something to have sex with.
No way am I giving up my turkey leftovers to cracky the clown and the gangster disciple circus so I press the accelerator down even further.
I am now an unwilling member of the death race to avoid becoming a victim. Luckily for me I have a fast performance auto, a little skill, a sober mind and a fucking Glock 45, I will be one of the winners.
Anyone that has ever ridden a bike with me knows I enjoy a touch of speed and hooliganism. However, take the adventure to the next level Tgiving 2013 and join me for the ride of your life.

Say WHAT??
Thanks to the restaurant in the 10th District who gave the troops a Thanksgiving dinner and the bosses who added to feast with BBQ, sodas and desserts.
8:56am
Try the Kennedy any Saturday night.
@ 11/23/2012 08:56:00 AM...
We'll see the n/b 90/94 leg of your "Thanksgiving 2012 Death Race" and raise you the w/b 290 leg to pick up 1st Ave/River Road going north...
Same shit... Extra seasoning.
Just wait until the "shopping cart crews" start yanking the cables out of the light towers again as times get even harder.
Ask the guys in 011 & 015 about the crispy skeletons and the overturned shopping carts "down in the valley."
Heh... The survivors turned up at County, Sinai, U of I & Loretto burnt to a crisp with the remains of dish-washing gloves on what's left of their hands...
Or better still... As things REALLY begin to die and rot out loud in this town, motherfuckers will just start unbolting BIG SCARY shit from bridges, overpasses and rail viaducts...
The old neighborhood folks used to talk about how fools like that would "go to Hell just to mess up tha Devil."
*We wuz bored an' shit...*
The same kind of assholery involved with mouth-breathers climbing a lamp post to cock the traffic signals.
And other assorted fuckery as the arc of civilization declines steep as a mutha...
Aye... People with sense and discernment are picking up on the ill humours and bad ju-ju in the air...
Wow- good bosses in 010, nice to see they show appreciation to the blue shirts by giving them a decent meal. More than I can say for the great cmdr of 020 who shows her appreciation by unnecessarily denying time due and taking care of her little house mice.

Yea, it takes some intelligence to realize that you should not be doing these things, not even during a lunch break. Your I.Q. is barely enough to keep your heart beating.
Did all this start with the Gallows or the Fudd Times?
