Cue the Racism in 3....2....1....

  • Nine out of ten of the Chicago Public School students potentially affected by school closings this year are black, a Chicago Sun-Times analysis has found, a discovery one community activist called a “lawsuit waiting to happen.”

Of those 129 schools located mostly on the South and West sides, 117 are majority black. And 119 of them have a percentage of black students higher than the district average. At the 129 schools on CPS CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett’s list of schools that could be closed this year, 88 percent of the students are black.

Schools with at least 90 percent black students account for 103 of the 129. Just nine are majority Hispanic.
Perhaps the fact that the schools that are being optioned for closing are in dying neighborhoods has something to do with it?  Black families are fleeing the killing fields of Chicago by the hundreds of thousands, therefore, their schools are "under-utilized," draining an already drained system of desperately needed money.

Schools in Hispanic parts of town are overcrowded in the extreme, mostly because formerly single-family houses are cut up into multi-unit conversions and the neighborhoods are bursting at the seams.

And the minute anyone even broaches the subject of busing kids around, everyone has a heart attack, and not just because McRobertPeel'sSecondComing is promising to escort gang bangers across rival gang boundaries in complete safety.

And the statistical manipulation being utilized to push this entire idea of "unfair" is ridiculous:
  • Outside Fernwood Elementary School in Roseland, an elementary school that is 97.7 percent African American, Cornelia Glover called the list “not fair.”

“They don’t care,” she said of the district, waiting to walk her three grandchildren home, “they just want to save money.”
97.7% black, but the building is under 50% occupied. Sorry, that isn't a racial problem. That's wasting tax dollars.

No wonder Eric Holder claims Americans aren't ready to have a discussion about race - you can't have a discussion when one of the parties is completely ignoring the facts and just runs around screaming something "isn't fair" because they don't get their way.

"...[school] building is under 50% occupied..."

Not long ago, CPS closed off part of a building at a school like this to save money, heat, etc. and consolidate things a little so the could be supervised.

The howls!

"We don't have access to the entire building!"

That's because they don't want hundreds of kids running wild, swinging from the light fixtures until they rip out, busting windows, smashing sinks and toilets, starting fires, peeing all over, throwing up s__t all over the walls, and fighting and having sex in there.

They closed off one entrance, so everyone had to use the same one. Principal, teachers, students, everyone.

The howls!

"We has to use the back do like we was the help or something!"

What can you say?

The race card might have been a valid excuse years ago but not anymore. In all my years I have never seen so much done for one particular race. The bottom line is the schools are being shut down because the students Are failing and the students are failing because the parents(not the teachers) are failing to be an active part in their Childs education. I don't care what neighborhood you live in or what your race is, you get out of school what you put into it. Stop dropping the race card it's a cope out.

Millions have been wasted in these neighborhoods for decades in the name of fairness, yet the statistics show time and time again that its been a massive waste of money. If the city were run like a business, these neighborhoods would have been shutdown and turned into parks, forest and farmland (something more productive) years ago.

Yes, some schools are "underutilized." Mainly, this is just a ploy to build more privately run charter schools (UNO anyone?). Rahm is perpetuating what Daley and Arne have created, the mess known as CPS. I read this blog regularly, but find it hard to understand how many of you guys can be pro-union yet claim republican or libertarian or whatever.

I agree with most of the two above statements. But if we are going to tell the truth we need to state how racism still exist today and how the past has effected those above 45 in "certain communities". The race card is hard to use for the age group thats younger than 40. But you have to remember good jobs were unavailable to "certain communities" until the late 70's. And that was regardless of education or abilities. I was promoted by my list rank and was asked did i get it merit. Was that race based question? Race talks should start with admitting the past. Understanding that past actions have had effects on todays state of affairs. Also moving forward is a must. Lets not forget that Chicago has the more front Minority Owned Companies that ever know. Atlanta in the 80's force banks and the city to deal with minority contracts. 50 / 50 and banks were forced to give loans to minority companies and they have grown to a point where they sustain themselves know. I will admit that crime is rampant in "certain communities' and to that there is no excuse it is a issue that needs to be corrected by the community. Sorry for being long winded but race relations is more than crime and education we always forget about opportunities.

So the entire Chicago school system is like what, 90-95% black? So, duh, won't most of the cuts, then be in a black neighborhood? And 50% was a higher number, some of the schools were only used 30%. But don't they need the lower student to teacher ratio? Since Granny is raising the kids, and can't read herself, the schools have to pick up the slack. Just another instance of taking care of people from the cradle to the grave.

The question following these events closing has to be, to what schools will the little miscreants be sent when their schools close?

This statement has nothing to do with race, but more on, as Martin Luther King would say, the quality of their actions: I would not want my kids attending the same school as kids whose parents don't work, don't live together, don't participate in the schooling of their children, don't instill moral values in their children, who don't teach their kids how to resolve conflicts with means other than violence, who don't feed their kids anything other than soda and chips, who don't have a clue about what good parenting is, who don't appreciate what they have, and who don't try to make their children's lives turn out better than their own miserable lives.

Just one generation ago, european immigrants came to this country, leaving behind poverty so bad even today's worst ghetto-living, welfare-receiving miscreants would look down upon as unlivable. but they came to this country, some not even knowing the language here, but knew that education was the road to self-reliance and fulfilling the American dream.

Today's welfare recipients have no such sense, and police see on a daily basis how these welfare-recipients have come to depend on the system as a way of life rather than as a means to get on their feet to take care of themselves.

And this has nothing to do with skin color, and everything to do with the quality of their character.

The things the police see on a daily basis would make the general tax-paying public incredulous. If it could be put into a book, it would be definitely "politically incorrect" but the truth is the truth, it is what it is.

The problems with the schools are a smaller part of a larger sociological problem that society has barely scraped the surface of.

It is race issue when it comes to closing schools but parents have to step up. If they close these schools down and create charters, NOTHING will change, but at least the politicos can use the tired excuse "at least we did soomething," when it comes time for the next election. Drop out rate will remain the same as well as removal from these schools and more kids on the streets that will be instructed to "take it to the alleys!" Teachers will have no union to protect their thankless jobs from politicos who blame them and not the parents or poverty. Play that race card baby- especially if it prevents rahm and the cps from imposing its ill will on workers. F their agenda, where is all that hope and change?

When they close 119 schools primarily in minority neighborhoods we wonder how many of those schools are also polling places for elections?

This just may hurt voter turnout unless McHokeyPokey is gonna guarantee safe transport of the voters through the various lawless tribal gang warlord Providence's.

But even then who is gonna trust him?

We've already had school buses shot up just last year on their way to and from schools.

One can certainly argue that closing local community schools are necessary because they are under utilize -- so that "we can save" -- but for what end? To build a $55 million dollar monument to a dead mayors wife called Maggie Daley Park instead and for some six-figure dollar per mile bike paths that the majority of taxpayers are not demanding?

Seems to me that these actions will result in the further destabilization of the communities and increase the gang membership totals.

Look at the BIGGER picture!

School closings are just a distraction.

Think of the old Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons...

Sight gag...
Straight line.
Punch line.

Then finally?
>Heh... We SEE what you did!<

Rahm and Sparkle-Farts are breaking the teeth, jaws and knees of the old black clout and political influence in Chicago.

A whole bunch of formerly "impo'tant" people are scared out of their minds because they never figured "our president" would turn on them...

A very QUIET few regular, everyday old heads were saying he never really gave a shit in the first place.

"Where he from? Too fast, slick an' slippery to give a damn about regular folks,"

Nailed it... First try...

They saw through these jokers but they're hopelessly outnumbered by the "gibs me mine an' yours too tho' I ain't done shit to earn it"
bunch.

Age = Wisdom? Notable (see below) exceptions duly noted.

See Object Lesson Regarding Shit-Talking POTUS On NATIONAL T.V.

Notice the spectacular, colorful and ongoing tearing of the ENTIRE ass off the Jacksons... And more to come, we're sure...

Notice all the rev'runs, noisy-assed community bull-horn yellers, memorial tee shirt wearers and alderfools tearing the backs off each others shoes running away and hiding from the Carrothers'?

(Still laughing about ol' Top-Cat marching around HQ and talking on two cell phones at the same time like he had lost his mind.)

Bobby Rush and Danny Davis are two of the biggest and most reliable demo-commiecrat shills, shit-talkers and espousers of victimology & entitlement culture.

Those toothless old fools?

Just like the rest of the usual suspects?

Have. Been. Awfully. Quiet.

We think it's the fear of God and many other things...

The guy in front of you looks back and is turned into a pillar of salt before your very eyes...

*EEEEEeeeeHEEEEK! WTFJH? O_o? *

Like muthafuckin' magic, you bitches!

Heh... Couldn't bee happening to a nicer bunch of people...

It's good when it ain't just the Po-Leece being targeted for the eventual "Grand March to the Freight Trains to No Where" by the demo-commiecrats.

The useful idiots get kakked/sent off by the Inner Party first...

Then the smarter, more hardcore cadre is put in place.

Know your history...

This business here is gonna be one rough, hard and funky muthafuckah...

Our grandkids will be fighting this battle... Pray for them... Prepare them.

every day, each and every one has the opportunity to make a choice. in it's simplest form, it's this:

a) do something helpful

b) do something hurtful

c) do something harmful

d) do nothing

sometimes, doing nothing may be the most helpful, least hurtful and least harmful possibility.

sometimes, doing something hurtful is the most helpful option available.

sometimes, doing something harmful is the only helpful option possible.

each individual's definition of what is helpful, hurtful and harmful determines the nature of their choice of action, even when applying the golden rule of: 'Do Unto Others As You Would Have Others Do Unto You'.

there are two fundamental perspectives in life:

Use, and Be Used.

Love, and Be Loved.

the first is Business.

the second is Personal.

the first is necessary to physically survive here.

the second is required to fulfill the purpose of being here at all.

when a person realizes the difference between the two fundamentals, that person then understands what 'the greatest thing you'll ever learn...' is.
