Yet another gift from Shortshanks:
- Yet another legal time bomb left behind by former Mayor Richard M. Daley exploded in Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s lap Monday — and it turns out to be a $6 million snow job for Chicago.
U.S. District Judge Charles Norgle ruled Monday that Chicago must reimburse the federal government for $6 million in snow-removal costs incurred at O’Hare and Midway Airports during 1999 and 2000.
After years of claims and counter-claims, Norgle sided with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the dispute over whether the city should be ordered to repay the money.
If there's someone who's always going to get their money, it's the feds.
Watch for Rahm to blame the firefighters for this one somehow. It's their turn.

I would like to personally thank all the city workers including fireman and policeman that rang doorbells, passed out flyers and worked for the Daley machine all those years. And when asked why it was well I Gotta go with the irish guy. Oh and to those of you with over 25 years thanks for watching the pension all those years and trusting Daley to take care of it. That worked out really well.

Oh I do so hope that this payback won't interfere with Maggie Daley Park. That would be a shame. Will there be a Patrick Daley shithouse at Maggie Daley Park? Or a Patrick Daley batting cage?
Hope the FOP and other Unions are keeping tabs on all these payouts so when these politicians go after our Pensions we can show them where all the money has gone!

When are the Feds going after the Daley crime family? 57.8 million parking garage, 55 million Daley park, 6 million airports snow removel and we don't know how many millions for the parking meter mess. Then we have Patrick Daley and Vanecko the millions they received. As tax payer we are screwed. Are we still paying to protect the crime family?

The city got HS money for that years ago, after 9/11. The City spent it all on other things. Finally the Feds demanded their money back or else spend it on what it was intended to be used for.
There was supposed to be three watches of police in the tubes, with 1st watch paid by the City, the Feds pay for 2nd and 3rd watch. Of course the City (Daley) renegs on the 1st watch committment and only does what the Feds pay for.
Then the instant funds dry up, no more program.
Typical Daley thievery. Same thing with pension fund shortfalls. 100% Daley instigated. What was supposed to go to pension funds instead went to Daley pals in the form of contracts, trucking contracts, road contracts, wrought iron fences, flower boxes, etc.
And it goes on still: $55 million to maggie daley park. Shameful.
It's not Rahm's money. He doesn't care.

This is why all politicians are cut from the same scumbag corrupt cloth. We all know Rahm knows all the bad deals Daley did and them some. He knows that daley is a true dirty scumbag, but we will never hear Rahm talk publicly(even in a politically correct way)about the true damage daley did to chicago. It would be nice to see another politician call out the daley crime family and list all the bad things he did. Everyone knows it and you can bet Rahm is furious about it. The media loves to talk about the police "code of silence", but the political "code of silence" is the true, very real, and most damaging "code of silence." The daley damage will hurt chicago for many many years. Why honor this family at all?

where do you think a hefty chunk of the money that financed the obamanation came from?
he's just doing what he was put here to do: cover up the past corruption, maintain the present corruption, with a little tweaking of the less skillful scammers, and ensure the future corruption's continued 'success'.
the big dogs won't let loose of the bones until there's absolutely no meat left on them.
Alot of people see the hand writing on the wall and are going to bail out of here there is no way to pay for all this nonsense to keep the corrupt in power.
