Nice Toy

Another government give-away?

What's the gas mileage on something like that?  And does it ever park on Rahm's block?

Quite different than the old War Wagon of the 70's and 80's. That thing looks like you could drive it through a brick building.

Please do not mis understand me Politically I'm to the right of Attila the Hun. But that vehicle scares the shit out of me. Actually a bit frightening. Since the government isn't supposed to use the military to police citizens they're militarizing our police departments instead. I am certainly hoping that our police officers will band together and refuse to obey unconstitutional orders to remove our guns, participate in martial law (Boston), etc. as we've seen in areas of the country. As a respectful citizen who greatly appreciates the job you do I hope you're discussing this and planning what to do when the time comes. Even "free speech" zones are unconstitutional. No, this is part of a program where the federal government gives equipment to local law enforcement when they are no longer useful for the military. This model vehicle became outdated and was no longer going to be used because they made a better design to protect our troops from IEDs. Rather than let these useful pieces of equipment rot or sell/give them to some rebel group they give them to local law enforcement.

Seriously, the martial law imposed in Boston? If the government DIDN'T tell people to stay in their homes and those 2 assholes hurt more people w/ a backpack full of explosives then what? They told the citizens to stat inside w/ the best intentions of keeping the citizens safe in mind. It wasn't to oppress anyone. Do you remember the shootout that happened late at night in the neighborhood where Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed? What if that happened in a more congested part of the city during the day and innocent bystanders had been hurt or killed? Then people would have blamed the police for not doing enough. Only 1 or 2 nut jobs complained about locking the city down because the people of Boston knew the police were doing the best they could with a completely fucked up situation.
We are not coming to take away lawful citizens guns. MOST police officers believe the gun restrictions placed on law abiding citizens are bullshit. McCarthy and the other various heads of departments give the anti-gun bullshit cuz they are political puppets. If you look closely you can sometimes see Rahm's arm elbow deep in McCarthy's ass and Rahm's lips move slightly when McCarthy is talking.

Chicago could have a dozen of these MRAP's if they wanted them, it all comes down to the city putting in a request for them from the Department of Homeland Security.

I was in Las Vegas for another security convention and this issue came up in conversation, these specialized armored cars just don't show up on your doorstep, you have to ask for it.

I'd bet McStreetLights could put in a request from DHS for the salaries to hire an additional 1,000 police officers for Chicago, and we'd would get the money to do so.

Seems someone downtown wants Chicago to be the next East St. Louis or Detroit.

Spare No Expense - Why Chicago area inflation is only 1.7%

Hahahahaha..what are you smoking Bath Saltz?

Illinois state income tax up 66%

Chicago real estate taxes up 10.3%

Gasoline $5.00/gal highest in the nation.

Wonder where your money has been going. Why you can't seem to get ahead?

That's okay cuz parking downtown has gone up what...20~40%?

So ride public transportation then.

The CTA fares are only up 16~74% depending on what fare card you buy.

Cigarette taxes - add another buck a pack..what is that, 10% right?

Oh and isn't there a tax on lap dances now too? Calling it an entertainment tax or something?

Water bills up 16 eff-in percent!!

Efffff Uuuuuu Chicago.

Tell us about your glorious living wage job creation.

Why Illinois created over 60,000 jobs over the last twelve months.

BUT, don't look over here at the food stamp caseloads that have increased by over three times that in the last 12 months, growing at a 10.3% per annual pace.

That's right. For every new job Illinois created three people were put on food stamps. Now tell me what kind of jobs are we're talking about here?

YEAH...LMAO...Chicago inflation is only 1.7% hahaha. Tell it to the sweeny.

Tell ya what people, Google the EMRATIO from the St Louis Fed. It will show you the ratio of people employed to those that are not. We peaked at around 64% of people employed around 2000 and it's been falling ever since. We are at around 58% and soon will reach an EMRATIO that existed back in the 1950's. Currently we're around the 1978 level I believe.

That may not sound so bad to the mathematically deprived. We survive back in 1950's. Right?

HOWEVER! 50% of the population being employed in 1950 compared with 2013 is way-way different. Population growth!

Safe passageways my ass!

You don't start creating a safe path to living wage jobs this place is gonna melt down. Personally I think it's too late already. All we're waiting for is to see how Detroit gets bailed out or breaks all the social contracts and ol' Al-lee Blah-Blah and his 50 thieves will follow .

SShhhhhh!! Calm down. The Stasi didn't do anything in Germany. The Stasi was the secret police force of communist East Germany. The only dictatorial thing I've seen done lately was by the Republican governor of Michigan. The Republican legislature rammed a bill through that he signed thereby giving him power to take over a local government and negating the electorate of that village, town or city. See Detroit for verification. Start worrying about that. Republicans are actively taking away Americans constitutional rights, but you're blind to that as long as you have your guns.

Thats a vehicle SWAT has had for a couple years now. Gets used on high risk search warrants and HBT jobs. Heard it cost a buck from LESSO. Not a bad deal, could really come in handy one day, especially if there's something like Mumbai in our city.

The Stasi, was the secret police in E. Germany (Soviet controlled), and their true power came in the form of control and surveillance. The constant monitoring of the public. One does not need to believe in conspiracy theories to see some of the parallels. NSA and IRS scandals. Pure coincidence? I think not! Control by monitoring and intimidation (police state = Stasi), government controlled food distribution; doubled since BHO took office. Snowmen was a whistle blower and now the mainstream media turned on him the alternative media continues to ask more questions.

This vehicle is called an MRAP. it was given to the dept. from the dept of defense. it had very little use and they weregiving away about5 of these. It was not bought with dope money or any city funds. it comes in very handy and now has a Patriot 3 ladder system that goes up about 35 feetor tactical assaults and rescue operations.
