Worth a Look?

Maybe:
  • New book coming out on Rahm, on Amazon, recommended by Ben Joravsky:

Mayor 1%: Rahm Emanuel and the Rise of Chicago's 99% by Kari Lydersen

"I urge everyone to read Lydersen's book. Over the last few months, many Chicagoans have told me they didn't realize who they were voting for when they cast a ballot for Emanuel. Thanks to Lydersen, they'll have no excuse in 2015."
    —Ben Joravsky, Chicago Reader
Might be worth a look. Anyone read it yet?

UPDATE: link is now the amazon.com website - it saves you a couple of bucks.

>>>"... Over the last few months, many Chicagoans have told me they didn't realize who they were voting for when they cast a ballot for Emanuel. ..."

WTF!!! He is a Democrat, what more did they need to know.

Not only that how many people didn't realize who they were voting for when they voted for OBAMA.

They wanted to purge themselves of the "white guilt" put upon them during the liberal 70's and 80's.

Are they sorry or what.

As long as we're recommending books, also available on amazon: Cocaine, Sex, Lies, and Murder by Larry Sinclair.

amazon went to court to defend their right to sell this book as non-fiction. The judge shocked the media into their usual pattern of simply not reporting the news when he refused to uphold an injunction sought by the Obama camp and David Axelrod specifically, who was threatening a defamation suit. Instead, David Axelrod's lawyers, paid for by the Obama campaign, had to concede they could not prove Sinclair had any intention but to tell his side of a story.

This book is likely a distillation of what various SCC posters have been saying for years...

Rahm fell from Heaven (Chased out of the White House for disrespecting FLOTUS & POTUS's BBF Valerie Jarrett) and landed in Chicago.

Funny... Before this undersized, maniacal manling put his name on the ballot he was running all over the city picking VERY unnecessary fights with Police, Firemen and Teachers by talking shit about how he wanted to cut their throats and the throats of thei rfamilies financially.

Heh... Rahm gearing up for a second term because he didn't get the desired one term cake-walk and swinging on the screen door ass-fucking he promised everybody...

With an assist from the media, Rahm has succeeded in villifying this segment of Chicago's remaining middle class in the eyes of the public...

Let's see now...

According to a city web site, there are @ 32,000 muni employees excluding teachers...

With Rahm's blood-letting at CPS there are perhaps just under 20,000 teachers?

So you have around 52,000 muni employees?

A little less than 2% of the total population of this city?

OK...

You have 100K hard core shitbirds and another 500K in shitbird affiliates and supporters who contribute nothing but shit, grief, death and destruction?

Who is getting bent backwards and ass-fucked by Rahm and his supporters in the Gold Coast/North Shore phony-assed tax skating charity, political fundraiser and cocktail party circuit?

>Jeopardy "Get A Clue" theme playing... Doo-doo-doo, doo-dah doo-doo doo...<

Who has Rahm (and shortshanks too) succeeded in fitting with the shit-shirt of Chicago's "fiscal disaster" in spite of ample evidence of the former facilitating the "misplacement" of an estimated $12 to $15 BILLION of taxpayer treasure over his term in office?

>Jeopardy tune again...<

How many of you good people (who can think for themselves, much to Rahm's chagrin...) think that Rahm is only here to insure that the evidence of the largest municipal financial crime scene is destroyed?

...No matter how many lives he has to turn upside down to do it?

Show of hands?

The name of the game is total divesture of muni employees from their pensions in the name of "reform" and re-assignment of those monies to the same banker, financier and investor carrion Rahm is trying to parcel this city off to.

"We had to burn the village to save it."

Rahm has particulat animus toward The Police...

Maybe he's concerned that The Police might form the nucleus of a concerted push-back against him and what he's doing?

Heh... People do seem to get concerned when the Cop hits back...

We hope the "Great Correction" is upon us.

It will be MUCH MORE than pissed off Policemen beating the bushes hunting for these rotten fuckers...

Yeah... The book may be worth a look.

Taxpayer here. I've been trying to get this book by Lydersen for a few weeks now. Funny thing is the Chicago Public Library has not ordered it yet. Usually, if they don't have it, the search will pop up with it's on order. They seem to have all Lydersen's other books she has written. Nothing like censorship in this day and age. I'm going to get it off Amazon where the going price is $11.82 with free shipping if you order over $25. "Things that make you go hmmm hmmm hmmm."

SCC, Thanks for bringing this up. Before you waste any money on this book, check out the people "endorsing" it. EVERY one is an avowed leftist, like that disgusting pig Karen Lewis, Jarovsky (lefty Reader "journalist"), Balanoff, the SEIU moron who buses sick people to various suburban hospitals to overload the ER's in futile attempts to force unionization of nurses, and Patel & Bruno? My God, two more garbage peddlers!

The author, Lydersen, writes for the Washington Post, New York Times and The Progressive, three of the worst liberal rags pumping out yellow journalism today. And, she teaches journalism. Is there any wonder why journalists are a joke today?

Here's the best part: This pathetic group of liberals is attacking Rahm for being too conservative! I know he's hated, but he must be doing something right if these clowns are trying to ambush him. Now if I could only figure out what is "right" about him...

Made my contribution to the city today . $2540 fine at 400 W Superior on 2 minor business violations I wasn't even aware of being violations. Compliance on both was shown.Too bad , unlike every other court in the city, everyone appearing there is always guilty on all counts and everyone gets punished. If we could switch these guys with the states attorneys , every criminal in the city would be locked up for the maximim sentence. My fear at this point is that this is only the beginning , the city will be coming after more and more businesses with minor obscure violations and getting exorbitant fines. As a business owner you really have to consider moving or shutting down. As someone who is in criminal court regularly, it makes it even worse, because you see criminals go unpunished every day .

Just got a letter from the City with a $6,000.00 fine for having a fence that's over six feet and no peepholes in apartment doors.

Problem is, I haven't owned that building since 1994. Got no idea who built that fence or why the doors don't have peepholes. The City That Works? Right.

Um, yeah. No.

Haymarket Books is a nonprofit, progressive book distributor and publisher, a project of the Center for Economic Research and Social Change. We believe that activists need to take ideas, history, and politics into the many struggles for social justice today. Learning the lessons of past victories, as well as defeats, can arm a new generation of fighters for a better world. As Karl Marx said, “The philosophers have merely interpreted the world; the point however is to change it.”

We take inspiration and courage from our namesakes, the Haymarket Martyrs, who gave their lives fighting for a better world. Their 1886 struggle for the eight-hour day, which gave us May Day, the international workers’ holiday, reminds workers around the world that ordinary people can organize and struggle for their own liberation. These struggles continue today across the globe—struggles against oppression, exploitation, hunger, and poverty.

It was August Spies, one of the Martyrs who was targeted for being an immigrant and an anarchist, who predicted the battles being fought to this day. “If you think that by hanging us you can stamp out the labor movement,” Spies told the judge, “then hang us. Here you will tread upon a spark, but here, and there, and behind you, and in front of you, and everywhere, the flames will blaze up. It is a subterranean fire. You cannot put it out. The ground is on fire upon which you stand.”

His name is Mathias Degan. Say it. Again. And do not forget.

Close, but no cigar.

Specifically, they both were missing one-half of the middle finger on their right hand.

And, they both have/had dope smoking liberal masses that dance to their self absorbed tunes, except the race and age numbers of their respective dope-smoking followers are vastly different.

Also, their common fear was not of tomatoes. Their shared fear was of BROWN PAPER BAGS filled with tomatoes.

Cops get the short end because "they" don't bother to vote.
