Obama's DEA

  • Oregon mandates that pharmacies report information on people receiving certain drugs to a centralized database (ostensibly to "...help people work with their health care providers and pharmacists to know what medications are best for them."). State law does allow law enforcement to access the records, but only with a warrant. The DEA, however, thinks that, because the program is public, a citizen is knowingly disclosing that information to a third party thus losing all of their privacy rights (since you can always just opt out of receiving medical care) thanks to the Controlled Substances Act. The ACLU and medical professionals (PDF) don't think there's anything voluntary about receiving medical treatment, and that medical ethics override other concerns.
So since you can't fill a prescription without disclosing it to a third party (Walgreens, CVS, etc), the DEA is claiming they can access your medical records because you have surrendered any right to privacy by involving that third party.

Wait until you see everything else that's on the horizon of socialized medicine.

There are no individual rights! There is no liberty or freedom! There is only the security of the State!

Then ATF gets the information and cross checks it with an ever expanding list of medication that precludes firearm ownership.
There may still be a second amendment but very few will qualify for it.
What a brave new world.

Psych drugs and addicting pain medicine may produce a knock on your door..."turn over your weapons"...

Now what if you are taking a psych drug for a secondary use for pain control and that drug is non-addicting and you don't have psych problems? Now you have to prove you are NOT psych impaired? (how does one do that?) Open up your medical history and show the government? Oh ya, they already know don't they...

I keep seeing "I love Obamacare" bumper stickers (mostly on Subaru and VW cars). Why on earth would someone want to make that statement? Thats like having a bumper sticker that reads, "I love natural disasters" or " I dig cancer."

Did you think that putting a foreign raised communist in the White House would somehow protect your American rights? ObaMAO would love to shred the Constitution and turn this into a Stalinist state.

All of these socialists want big government snooping into every part of your lives. They are all the same, with the same agenda. A camera on every corner. Disarming the population to make them less of a threat. Soon a KGB like force will emerge, maybe FEMA, and start rounding up counter-revolutionaries for re-education in their camps. Read up on Bill Ayers and see what he had to say about controlling Americans. This was Obamao's friend and advisor.

This is what America voted for. Twice.

Sometimes the wrong medication is prescribed, so,looking at medication records is not a good indication of anyone's mental problems.

So what drugs are the DEA looking at?

Most of the drugs that have been used by the mentally ill shooters we have seen lately are not controlled substances.

Drugs called SSRI's like Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil and other antipsychotic drugs are not habit forming.

I thought the databases were looking for doctor shoppers and MD's that prescribe recklessly. I have problems with that because every doctor's practice is different but that was their original intent. Of course, with the obamacare monstrosity, who knows what they'll do with this information.

Get ready for the national id card, like the USSR's internal passports.

We should know if anyone taking certain drugs don't have or cannot buy firearms.

Why do people think that anyone gives a fuck about their prescriptions, their medical history, their email, their tweets, their blog posts, or anything else about them?

This is the common reaction of the new hyper-egotistical Facebook generation. Face reality. No one gives a shit about your prescriptions or anything else about you, not the government, not anyone.

If you read the law you will see it is not socialized medicine. It is a bailout for the insurance and medical industries. The government is forcing people to buy insurance. Who gets rich from this? Insurance companies and doctors! Corporatism at its best. Educate yourself(reading only one perspective doesn't count).

Anon 457 is right. It's only really corporate, hospital, and medicaid/medicare provider socialism. It already has a Fannie/Freddie Mac Wall Street stock angle, utterly predictable.

That's actually...ah..Fascism. American style, the big boys rake it in.

Obamacare for the masses will be Duvaliernomics, aka the Duvalier method. All money above sustenance will be taken, a government rump middle class, a very rich tiny top of cronies.
