More "Free" Stuff

  • Sneed hears Mayor Rahm Emanuel is this/close to rolling out a plan to fund free preschool enrollment for 4-year-olds from low income families.

“Watch for the mayor to build on his expansion of full-day kindergarten to all Chicago children,” said a mayoral source.

“Roughly 1,500 4-year-old kids from low income families who qualify for the federal school lunch program have no access to half-day pre-K,” said a mayoral source.

Sneed is told the mayor plans to close this gap with an investment of $6 million “by initiating a new social impact bond, a financial tool designed to invest in social programs saving government money in the long run — and looking for more efficiencies in the city budget,” said the source, who added that capital costs will be paid by the Chicago Public Schools.
We never have understood where the media touts the leftist (but we repeat ourselves) line that everything the government does is somehow "free." Just because you don't see which hand or wallet the government is stealing from, doesn't somehow make it "free." Spreading around the pain doesn't make it "free." What it actually results in is a situation where every man, woman and child in Illinois owes something like $80,000 or some other obscene number because of all the "free" shit that Daley, Madigan, Rahm and Quinn have been giving away.

Oh, and that additional 1,000 illegal aliens that Rahm wants to house in Chicago? Yeah, it's now 1,500, on top of the 1,500 Sneed mentions as getting "free" pre-K.

Keep letting Rahm dig that hole Chicago.

I advocate Sponsorship. If you want to provide people with a path to citizenship, do so. You *personally* sponsor as many
immigrants that you believe that you can afford. They live in your home. You provide them with food, clothing, insurance, etc., until they get a job and can care for themselves. If they lose their job, they're yours again, until they regain employment. If they turn to a life of crime, you are civilly liable for their misdeeds. Rather than let the nameless, faceless "government" be responsible for them, let's individualize & personalize that responsibility.

I pay 3,280 for a catholic pre school, I looked into public pre schools but since I have a job and make decent money it would cost me 3,800 to send my child to a public school's pre school. Where's the logic in that? I'm getting really tired of being told I make too much money for certain programs when the entitled ones are draining them and the system dry.
Six more years until my 20 and then I will be taking my family to another state, this place is gone already and there's no coming back.

Why did they close public housing? The projects were great to keep everyone in check. This sharing the wealth with people who neither deserve nor appreciate anything is just ruining decent parts of the greater metro area! Can I sue for hardship because I keep having to drive further and further away to enjoy a movie without a very "urban" audience present to ruin it?

It probably will happen, because Chicagoan and Illinoisans are sheep at sleep. Just because SCC mentions it here doesn't mean diddly squat, because coppers don't care or pay attention to this shit! Same with those living in the N/W and S/W side neighborhoods, you never hear a peep from the non-city workers in those neighborhoods, they just keep on paying the taxes, fees and fines. And those wealthy people living on the lake front could care less, they just keep on drinking the coolade.

Too late for Chicago. We are already in that Death Spiral that took Detroit to the grave. The city is broke and doesn't even bother to pay it's pension obligations yet our city leaders keep borrowing millions to pander for votes. Make plans to get out of this town as soon as you can. Move out if this state if you can.

One of those "efficiencies" was the removal of free health care for the CFD retirees and probably the same for us once our contract is ratified.

If that's the case I will have to re-think my plans about maxing out ( in 4 yrs ) and leave next year.

Buying the ghetto vote. Plain and simple. Aldermen have been doing it with their 1.3 million dollars slush fund. Just think each alderman gets 1.3 million dollars of our money to lease themselves a Lexus or hiring their family or buying a vote. Chicago, where corruption is the foundation of everything.

Regarding the Sponsorship comment, that's how it use to be handled. From what I remember, when my parents came to this country in the late 1940s and early 1950s, they had to be sponsored. The sponsor was responsible for the immigrant until that immigrant became self-sufficient and/or became a citizen. Not sure when that changed (or if it ever did). Perhaps that is why the United States is facing a torrent of "undocumented" individuals. I even understand that the president is currently considering a way to give these undocumented individuals a work permit. Wait and see what happens if that ever comes to pass (that torrent will turn into a deluge)!

Public housing was closed because
these "concrete reservations" were
built on prime real estate which
eventally escalated in value so the
low income residents were re-located
to "scattered-site" housing and the
"projects" were demolished and the
land sold to developers.
Just research sites of the former
public housing and you'll realize the point I'm attempting to made.

The people who get the "free" stuff could care less that someone else pays for it. To them, it's still free. That's one reason why they don't work. In their feeble minds, why should they? They've been indoctrinated to believe that they are entitled to "free" stuff, and that includes your car stereo if they feel that they want it bad enough. "Hope and change"? it's definitely been a change- for the worst.

We can reduce the cities and the nations debt obligations if we can import some tropical plagues into the country that will wipe out a large portion of the population i.e. the boomers looking forward to their retirement money.

If they do it right the p-r's will claim how it all was an act of nature and could not be avoided.

Perhaps if the plagues don't take out enough people an accidentally tainted vaccine that is always recommended for the elderly and those with weakened immune systems will do the trick.

Yeah I know. Sounds like a tin foil hat conspiracy theory. However take a look at your history books and see the list of things considered as crazy talk that was done.

GREED and POWER drives people crazy!

BRING ON THE TAXES, FINES, FEES!

YOU-ESS-A YOU-ESS-A USA!

a href="http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-motorcycle-deaths-met-20140728,0,1659162.story">Illinois considers new license requirements for big motorcycles

Instead of offering licenses in just two size classes — one for cycles with an engine displacement of less than 150 cubic centimeters, like off-road bikes and scooters, and another for all other sizes — Illinois would add a third category for the bigger motorcycles, possibly starting at about 600 cc. And drivers would have to test on the size bike they intend to ride.

"It's in the talking stage," secretary of state spokesman David Druker said. "It's something we're reviewing seriously."

You know we have to worry about the 50 or so people dying from a cycle crash to keep the attention away from the number of homicides and gsw's.

Besides it's an opportunity to create a new fee.

Illinois Turbulent Love Affair With Government Entities

We're number one!!

Illinoisans have a reluctant love affair -- or perhaps an unhappy arranged marriage -- with government. With more than 8,400 government taxing bodies, Illinois tops the nation. The city of Chicago on its own has almost 2,000 units of government. There is a government entity for nearly every part of civic life.

No other state comes remotely close to Illinois' tally for government taxing bodies.

If you are a Chicagoan, name every position and person who you elect to the city council, the Illinois House and Senate, Congress, the Cook County Board of Commissioners, Cook County-wide offices, the Board of Review, and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District. If you are in the suburbs, add to this list your school board or boards, the community college board, the library board, the park district board, the township, and maybe one or two other special districts.

Many of these governments overlap each other, so it's hard to know where the authority lies or who to talk to when there's a problem. Plus, having so many different governments can be expensive. Taxes from various entities add up, and the variances within and among municipalities make the particulars confusing.

But these government units employ a lot of people and, historically, have been used as patronage havens by politicians who have favors to return. That makes eliminating these micro-bureaucracies a tough task, no matter how much taxpayers might save.

Perhaps the state's high government count has helped Illinois consistently secure a place near the top of just about every "Most Government Corruption" lists.

But wait that's just like the Chicago police bosses, weak no spine no wonder coppers are afraid to really do the job! Also we contend with the corrupt crook county (fake) judicial system, how many judges have paid the "tax" to get that cush spot? How many get a call from their "sponsor" and are told how the case will go?

My daughter has decided to home school her son..We have been doing research on BILL and LINDA Gates idea of education that was adopted by ARNIE DUNKEN for Public Schools called COMMON CORE and there is no way for a sane person to want to send their kids to either a Private or Public school since in IL they decided to adopt COMMON CORE in ALL schools.. a few states have dropped it and are making their own standards.. not IL .. they took the $$ in the stimulus and don't want to give it back by dropping it..COMMON CORE is a race to the bottom.. designed to hold back kids that are smart so the playing field is LEVEL.. check it out..
