Word of an Officer in 014 wounded in a shootout.
Suspect was also hit.

- Police officers are gathering at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County this morning after a police-involved shooting in the Bucktown neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of North Marshfield Avenue, Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.
The Office of News Affairs could not immediately confirm reports an officer and a suspect were both shot.

On a side note Aldercreature Rey Colon was arrested BY ISP for Dui.
He is to be stripped immediately of his Aldercreature Badge and Id and Turn over any weapons he owns. He should go into a NO PAY status Immediately pending the outcome of his case and Terminated if convicted. What is good for us is good for the Aldercreatures too.

Prayers for you, Officer, that you will heal quickly with as little suffering as possible. My Great Uncle (CPD) faced having shot and killed a thief. It weighed on him as well. But when it comes to your life or the bad guy's, you need to let it go. Off-duty or On. You were the one who was attacked. You did what you were trained to do the best you could do under the circumstances. Kudos to you for having survived what you or anyone else confronting this scenario easily might not have. You are correct. The socialists in the Democratic Party sped up the downfall of this country with Jimmy Carter's Community Reinvestment Act, which Clinton implemented. The act forced banks to give loans to people who did not qualify, making banks go against their own lending standards. This caused the housing bubble/collapse. This was all done on purpose. Mission accomplished according to their side. Torches and pitchforks ain't enough now.

I think what he was trying to say was that if he was off duty with no vest, radio, or backup, the cell phone would have been a good tool as going alone with no way to get help coming or knowing where you were to go hand to hand with an unknown subject was risky. Kudos to him for taking action, but that was risky. I don't think the other poster meant any harm.

When my neighbor was pushed to the ground and beaten around her face and neck, crying in pain, attempting to fight off her crazed attacker and believing she was about to die, the very last thing she could have done was reach into her pocket for her cellphone and dial 911.

Yeah use your cellphone and watch all the offenders get away. You call cpd for anything its always 20 to 45 min before a car comes. I have worked side gigs and called saying off duty needs help or assist nobody comes running.
