Misdemeanor? $100K Bond?
- A man from Chicago's south shore faces domestic battery charges after he allegedly beat his girlfriend and her son early Monday before throwing her 8-month-old daughter from a moving vehicle.
He then drove over the baby when he sped off, police said.
Joseph Fults, 46, of the 7400 block of South Phillips, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of battery and domestic battery, police said. He was ordered held in lieu of $100,000 bail during a Tuesday morning court appearance.
Really? Throwing a child out of a moving car, even if he was just idling down the street, then driving over the child, even if the chassis clears the kid. This was a human child, right? Someone really needs to start keeping track of these judges who set these ridiculously low bails.
