We saw one article that said 3 dead, but they forgot these two:
- A 23-year-old man died after being beaten and then run over by a car in the Little Village neighborhood early Sunday morning, according to police.
- A 59-year-old man believed to be homeless was beaten to death in the Logan Square neighborhood Saturday night.
Keep an eye on the stats - it's completely possible that someone might try to count that first one as an auto accident and the second one as a death investigation. Stranger things have happened.

I had 6 dead 30 wounded.
I wonder why in 2012 summer weekends logged atleast 8+ murders a weekend (August averaging 12 murders a WEEK alone), but now the murder weekend totals for the summer barely go past 5. I ain't complainin' though, just observing.
How can anyone be proud of a wounded to dead ratio like that. Discounting the death by vehicle and the death by beating, you have 3 dead and 33 wounded. That is a 11:1 ratio of wounded to dead. That is not a ratio to be proud of. Either Chicago gangbanger are the worst shots in the world, or they are not really serios about offing anyone.
Obviosly our gangers just point a firearm in the general direction, close their eyes and pull the trigger.
And remember you have an Area North lieutenant ever so willing to reclassify homicides into non-criminal death investigations to help the miserable stats.

We all know the 59 year old was beaten to death by white, ruthless and very drunk poleeces who were driving in a non-marked, radar absorbing, plate-less, silent running special issue environmentally friendly tactical SUV after becoming irate that they could no longer freely shoot people because of the trials and tribulations of that brave little boy in Ferguson who was horrifically gun down for absolutely no reason by the man. Of course, wanting to leave the scene before they were identified by the amberlamps peoples, the drunk poleeces fled at a high rate of speed and struck that poor 23 year old gentleman in Little Village who was just standing out on his corner, minding his own business and keeping a watchful eye on his peoples (or are they folks there?)in the wee hours of the morning. After realizing that in the heat of beating the 59 year old to death, all four of the intoxicated offices had dropped the irons they were planning on planting on somebody later in the shift and that they could no longer just pull out their duty weapons and rid themselves of the problem like they were able to do before that copper in Ferguson messed everything up and brought the heat and wrath of Al and his army of reverends down on everybody, the offices threw their radar absorbing, silent running stealth vehicle in reverse, and then in drive, and then in reverse again to rid themselves of the problem. I think the supernintendo should put together a special civil investigations unit on this one and that unit should be headed by that Reverend guy who hates guns but keeps one in the back of his pants. I happen to be a private school teacher, a former member of the Cook County Grand Jury and as some have claimed of me, a blood relative of a 27 year and now deceased veteran of the corrupted and very violent CPD and I know that’s what happened. Someone should call Holder!

Hey local media. Why do you take Garry's word as gospel. Look into Chicago's stats. They are all on line. The murder rate had been dropping steadily for years before Garry came hear.

Seems that the City Clerk changed something with the recent new City Stickers.
A lot of the vans that had an LP city sticker last year were issued the ST class Truck City Sticker.
Not only did you pay more this year, but that ST Class City Sticker opens you up to enforcement of the Residential Pickup Truck/Van permit ordinance from the Clerk and Revenue ticket writers (as well as the odd PO that writes that ordinance for "productivity").
Check your City Sticker and get the Free Peit from your aldermans office. The tickets are now 75.00 a day.

If they charged and arrested every "citizen" that threatened, spit on, kicked, punched, stabbed at, shot at, drove a car at, threw a dangerous object at a police officer then there isn't a copper out there that wouldn't want to document it with a camera.
The reality is that we are subject to all that and more and there is barely an arrest approved much less a conviction for attacking a police officer compared to the real number of times it happen. The States Attorneys, Judges and every citizen sitting in a jury box thinks that's what we get paid for, to be punching bag. It's not. We are here to enforce the law, keep order and go home to our families at the end of the day.
Camera me up tomorrow, but you better be fair and charge every that assaults, batters or flat our tries to kill me with the felony that is on the books - but never applied.

It actually would make a difference.
If you figure 80% of the CR's generated against a PO are BS...they go away and you might get "filing a false police report" charges against the Mook.
And for the Strokes on this job...number of sustained CR's will drop as well since now everyone is on camera with audio/video and they now have to behave or explain why their body camera wasn't on during their tour.
It's been stated that getting Beefs come with the job. And that if you're getting beefs your not doing the Job.
Dash Cameras only protect the Cop if everything goes down in front of the Dash Camera. A camera staring into the face of some thug is going to calm them the hell down faster than a trip into the alley to tune them up

If you left the station without operational gear then you are stupid.
They tried that on me last week. I requested in writing that they acknowledge my receipt of the vehicle without a Operational PDT and Camera. I cited officer safety as my concern for the camera and holy cow, No one wanted to put it in writing.
They can not MAKE you take a vehicle that isn't fully equipped.
Your job is to do your job.
Not drive around in broke assed vehicles with non-operational gear that by Department Policy is supposed to be installed and Operational.
Might even be a grievance in this.

The shooting numbers were very low compared to last Labor Day weekend. I guess a few rats didn't get Corey's memo. Meanwhile, all was quiet at Pequods, where the beer was flowing and the pizza was delicious!
Shooting related homicides down while shootings are up. The only difference between the two is shot placement and medical care. Who is fooling who.

Yeah...I've taken a lot of shit here.
One of the reasons why I don't use the "guy on a bike" moniker anymore.
We all know what the rules are for the Pickup Truck Permit. And we all know what most city employees were doing to dodge it until the City told Revenue to start writing the ticket.
But a change should be announced.
At least then the playing field is kept level...
