Blood in the Streets! Bodies Everywhere!
Remember when Garry said that Concealed Carry was going to lead to more death? That the answer wasn't "more guns"? As Bugs Bunny would say, "What a maroon!"
- Chicago’s crime rate dropped as concealed carry permits in the city have sky rocketed, The Washington Times reported. The number of robberies leading to arrests in Chicago declined 20 percent since last year’s police department statistics were released. Since July of 2013, residents with a clean background check and appropriate training all over Illinois could begin carrying concealed in the state.
Despite Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy’s prediction that making Concealed Carry legal in Chicago would adversely affect the Windy City, the number of robberies that have led to arrests in Chicago has declined 20 percent from last year, according to police department statistics.
“When people say concealed carry, I say Trayvon Martin,” McCarthy said to host Cliff Kelley on Chicago’s WVON-AM radio, a reference to the unarmed 17-year-old who was fatally shot last year by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in Florida.
McCarthy went on, “I say Trayvon Martin, because the answer to guns is not more guns, and just simply putting guns in people’s hands is going to lead to more tragedy.”
Chicago has had some tragedies to be sure. The nine-year-old that was buried today with nary a peep from the White House or the usual race hustlers, the young lady killed at a sleepover - again, not a single White House staffer in attendance at her funeral. But "more tragedy"? We aren't seeing it. McCarthy is touting the low homicide rate, so the number of "tragedies" is lower even with shooting victims up a bit. No Trayvons attacking people and getting shot. No cops gunning down Concealed Carriers as McCarthy threatened.
You can take it to the bank that Garry and Rahm won't be drawing any direct correlations to their CompStat numbers falling with increased Concealed Carriers on the street. That would defeat the narrative you know. Guns aren't the answer - unless you aren't asking the right questions (which the media never seems to).
And in case anyone in the media was thinking of listening to the usual "improved" policing strategies, better training, yadda yadda yadda, we'll tell you that we've received no additional instruction, seen almost no difference in patrol strategies, observed not a single change in deployments (aside from blowing through the entire overtime budget by May) and yet "Crime is (allegedly) Down" is the headline every month. In fact, we'll bet it's the the prime topic of the press conference Tuesday.

If someone with a Concealed Carry Permit does a legit shooting of an felonious offender do not let Garry, Anita or one of their minions change your reports and make the good citizen the bad guy.
I'd be telling the good citizen, nodding my head up and down, "You were in fear of death or great bodily harm, right."
Leaving concealed carry aside, how many unarmed teens are killed every week in Chicago? Further more, they are not killed by people with valid concealed carry permits. The Beast from the Bronx is just plain anti-gun, anti- Second Amendment.
Chicago a possible target for ISIS terrorists. Not to worry, Obama has our back. He will protect us. We are safe on while on his watch.
How are streetlights doing in the city? With all the stress has anyone noticed an unusual increase in shot out lamps?
It's just a well, proven fact ccw =drop in crime get over it garry rham aldercreatures once people have that feeling of protection and confidence you will never be able to take it away without a fight.
"The number of robberies leading to arrests" seems like an odd and meaningless statistic omitting robberies where there's no arrest, and what would arrests have to do with concealed carry?

Isn't Chalkie working overtime investigating all the shootouts in the LOOP?
Aren't the middle managers mowing each other down left and right over parking space fights?
How many housewives have to die over being in the 10 items or less checkout line with 13 items?
Hey ISIS, can you introduce yourselves to our superintendent while you're in Chicago!
HEY - when is this moron (or maroon) going to be pushed out?
Also, a friend who is seeking CC Permit is waiting, and waiting, and waiting, for their Permit. The credit card was already charged a LONG time ago but the paper shuffling has not stopped.
Here is a question for all the legal beagles out there. If this person is involved in a shooting, (they have their FOID card as well as a CC Permit from another state), would they be charged because they did NOT have an Illinois card?
AND if they did, could they counter-sue for violation of their civil rights because Illinois was taking MONTHS to process their CC Permit and left them defenseless in trying to protect and defend themselves.
Think hard on this one because Illinois dragging their feet on these cards looks like they could be sued BIG TIME for anyone caught in defending themselves and then charged with a no CCW permit.
A denial of a Second Amendment right due to bureaucrats dragging their feet because they have some anti-gun agenda? Sounds like a BIG Jackpot payout to me.
Garry put down your gun!
I don't think the Supe is anti-gun per se, but since he's Rahm's talking head, he has to appear to be.
In the hood, a black life is insignificant. They kill each other day in and day out. Not news worthy. A black life is only important when its taken by a white. Then its 24/7 news, screeching outrage, burning and looting. Blacks need to elevate their lives so they are important, they do contribute. Prognosis not good.
Gerry must have missed this one

George Zimmerman found not guilty
How many permits have actually been issued to Chicago residents? Probably not that many.

and the same goes for you office, when "they" threaten your job and pension.
I've been carrying everyday since I got my CCL during the first week they were issued in March. So far, my guns have not shot anyone, and I have not pulled my gun on anyone. Sorry to disappoint Rahm's NJ lackey.
How does the 20% drop in arrests have anything to do with actual robberies? If they aren't arrested we don't count them? Sorry gents but this is a lame attempt at a conceal carry victory. Besides the number of concealed carry holders isn't that big...just sayin'
McCarthy should stick to boozing and shooting out street lights
I don't get it -- how does a decrease in "robberies leading to an arrest" have anything to do with CC? I'm all for CC, but that Washington Times article makes no sense at all. CC is supposedly working because "robberies leading to an arrest" are down? What is that even supposed to mean? To be honest, it sounds like the WT is cherry-picking some meaningless stat and trying to spin it into support for CC when it has no relevance at all. Besides, since when do we believe the official CPD stats? I thought the "crime is down" stats are supposed to be b.s.?
“When people say concealed carry, I say Trayvon Martin,”
Would that be the thug Travon that was sitting on a mans chest and trying to beat him to death? That's who you want to hold up as a case against concealed carry? Jesus wept.
“When people say concealed carry, I say Trayvon Martin,” McCarthy said to host Cliff Kelley on Chicago’s WVON-AM radio, a reference to the unarmed 17-year-old who was fatally shot last year by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in Florida...
...just because he was on top of Zimmerman, splitting the back of Zimmerman's head open by beating it on the cement..."sweet tea" and Skittles flyin all over...
Trayvon Martin Garry? Really? Wonder what Garry would have done if he had this over grown dope head on top of him pounding his skull into the cement. Exactly what George Zimmerman did. Pretty easy to quarter back when you are not the victim of such an attack. Wonder what his thoughts are on the Gentle Giant.
Trayvon Martin proves that "natural selection" really works. Predators now have to ask themselves "do ya feel lucky punk, well do ya ???????
Gary McCarthy, etal, can be compared to "Chicken Little", the sky is falling !! Not ! People are not falling for all their false propaganda. Government cannot/will not protect it's citizens. Such protection is for the "elite" assholes only.
ssc I just sick of the choices we have for mayor rahm of Karen lewis it makes me just want to vomit. can somebody convince rudy guiliani to move to Edison park and then run for mayor , guiliani for mayor 2015
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
Bob Fioreto for mayor , he wants to give inspector general office authority to investigate criminal activity in alderman office . That's a start .
"Trayvon" was news simply because it was an exception to the rule-two questionable guys who probably didn't have to fight if either possessed any judgement or self-control. Meanwhile, millions of responsible citizens are quietly carrying guns and sometimes defending themselves, responsibly. This doesn't make the news because it doesn't fit the leftist radical, mentally ill viewpoint.

It is probably because everyone who wanted that one gun for home/personal defense has bought it and the market has become saturated. Prices are down so you can buy a second or third at reasonable prices.
But stock up on ammo, that's going to be the problem...
...and watch out for BHO, John Kerry and Hillary to try to sneak by that United Nations Small Arms Treaty. To them, the Constitution be damned.
In the late 1980's I worked as a DEA Special Agent in Miami, Florida. When I started in 1987, the Miami Field Office was involved in a shooting about every three months for my first two years there. When Florida instituted shall issue concealed carry I thought a blood bath would ensue. Was I ever wrong. Things just got quieter and quieter and the people who held the permits were/are very responsible on the whole.
